I listened to the recorder play the message intended for Leo and my breathing became louder from the terror of it. I had thought the mutilated hands in the suitcase were horrifying enough till the recorder started to play and my assumption that they were a young girl's hand proved right.
I had guessed it was a girl's hand because the nails were painted and though the nail polish on it was starting to peel, I couldn't help but imagine the owner of the hands forgetting how to put nail polish on after being put in the situation she must have been.
And then whoever sent that message Leo was listening to just mentioned how he was going to keep chopping off some other girls' hands because of Leo and Lade. My blood started to boil and tears welled up in my eyes as I stared at him and watched him listen to the message to the very end.
I noticed someone approaching where Leo sat from behind with a pen in hand... no, not a pen, a fucking syringe. A part of me became alert for the looming danger but another part wanted to sit back and watch that person do whatever he planned to do.
I sat back. Heart pounding with a little bit of guilt, the person got closer to him and was about to inject him with it when Pete held his hand. I let out a gasp when Pete stopped the person.
Leo turned his head around, slowly and calmly like he knew the person was coming; I mean, the message from the recorder did just inform him that he would be attacked once it ended.
As calm as he was while looking behind him to see Pete fighting with the person who planned to inject him, I couldn't miss the anger in his eyes while listening to the recorder play.
A loud crashing noise had the few men and women in the bar turning their necks when Pete threw the man toward the tall showcase of expensive drinks.
They all still sat calmly till bullets started to fly around and everyone began to panic. I could spot a few of Leo's men pulling some triggers but the invading shooters seemed to be more than they were.
I turned my eyes away from the scattered people running out of the bar and looked back at Pete. He pulled out the syringe pricking his left arm and threw it to the floor and then tried to walk forward but fell with his first step.
His falling to the ground had Leo up on his feet to go check on him. Pete began to convulse on the floor before Leo could get to him.
"Fuck," I heard Leo as he tried to hold Pete from shaking as violently as he did. "Pete!" He called his name sharply and somehow that made Pete stop and start to breathe heavily.
"It's painful," Pete groaned through gnashed teeth."It's fucking painful and I didn't even let all of it go into my system." He looked like he was on the verge of crying.
What the hell was in the syringe he was injected with? And to think that that could have been Leo on the floor. Pete fucking took Leo's place. No doubt why Leo never jokes with him.
Leo fetched him up on his shoulder to carry him out but a bullet flew his way and when he looked up, the shooter stiffed with... fear? Why shoot at a person you're scared of?
I pulled out the gun Pete had given me earlier while Leo dropped him on the sofa he had been sitting on. Leo walked up to the man who had dared to shoot a bullet his way and took the gun from him. The man didn't even bother to put up a fight, I still don't know why, but he stood and waited till Leo shot him.
Maybe the man he just shot was scared of him but surely not the others because soon, the rest started to shoot at us. I quickly hopped behind the sofa and though I didn't like Pete any more than I did Leo, I pulled him to the wall beside me and only shot from there.
Meanwhile, Leo started to take out all the men that were shooting at him, one by one and he was doing it so casually, it made me wonder if he had a bulletproof vest beneath his shirt.
Soon, a majority of the men shooting at him went out of bullets at the same time and while they tried to reload, Leo forced them into a hand fight, taking out eight of them in a minute.
He looked sexy while doing it, I've got to admit even if I still wished someone would actually hit him back in the fight. It was the first time I had seen him fight without a gun.
All of the men on the floor, he rearranged his suit jacket and straightened out some of the rumples in his trousers before returning to pick Pete up, leaving a glare my way. I immediately knew he caught me waiting for that man to come closer and strike him with the syringe.
I caught someone pointing a gun at him and shot down the person to his feet but he just crossed over the dead man and continued in his hurried footsteps to get Pete out of where we were.
I rushed to open the back door of the car Pete and I came in but Leo didn't look appreciative after making Pete comfortable in the back seat. I went round the car and joined him in the front.
I was forced to put my seatbelt on when Leo stepped on the pedal and made the car go fast.
Not once did he even glance at me, his eyes were just focused on the road, wanting to get his aide some medical help.
Once in a while, I turned back to look at Pete and he didn't lie when he said he was in pain. He still had his teeth gritted and gripped onto the leather of the car tightly.
"If anything fucking happens to him, you're a dead man," Leo told one of the doctors I sighted after Leo rushed Pete to a room at his mansion.
"We'll do our very best, Sir." The doctor told him before shutting the door and after that, everywhere became quiet unlike when we came in with Leo carrying Pete again.
I stood by a wall and watched Leo rest his forehead against the door, trying to catch his lost breath, and then suddenly, he lifted his eyes to me.
No words, just an angry stare, so I turned to walk away but he stopped me. "You were going to sit and watch that person inject me with whatever the hell has Pete the way he is now..."
Yes, that is what I would say if I was brave enough to. I wanted to be proud of my decision not to alarm him of the danger behind him at that moment back in the bar but I just took the other option and kept my mouth shut to listen to what else he would say.
"Give me a good reason you hate me as much as you do..." He started towards where I stood and I expected him to stop at a respectable distance but he didn't, he just kept on crowding me till I pressed my back against the wall in an attempt to get more distance between us. He was trying to intimidate me and he was successfully doing so.
"You want to know?" I asked because I knew I could give him more than one reason, I could give him many more. "For starters, you're a bad man, you kill people unjustly, you're the reason why some asshole like yourself is gonna be chopping innocent girls' hands if his desires are not met, you're manipulative and you like to hurt people for fun and..."
"If the doctors don't open the door with good news about Pete, I'll do to you what I should have done when I caught you here before I changed my mind."
"You won't kill me, you want me to get rid of Lade," I snapped back to his face and watched as a scary smile crept up his face.
"Pray the doctors have good news after now." He ended our conversation with that and left me standing alone in the hallway.
I inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly after. If Pete becomes paralyzed or something and Leo decides to kill me, I hope he fucks me first like he's always threatened to.
I would never accept that I wanted to know if my pussy could take in all of him; I wouldn't even convince myself of it but deep down, I knew I wanted him to fuck me like I've imagined he fucks his whores. Hard. Good. Rough, maybe, I could handle it.
Fuck me, I'm crazy to want that even if I hated him and the horrible things he did. Maybe I could kidnap him somehow after killing Lade and give myself a good time with him before killing him too. Maybe. But that would only be possible if Lade isn't so fucked up by what he was injected with and the doctors give good news.
I was returning to my room when I saw one of the maids watching something on her phone but she hid it the moment she saw me. I held back my laugh mainly because I wasn't in the mood to. If I'm not wrong, they were probably instructed not to have any device on them if they were to attend to me and although she wasn't attending to me, she knew she shouldn't have the phone.
"What are you watching?" I asked, knowing I was just going to my room to pray that Pete didn't die, because apparently if he did, I would too. Aside from that, I had nothing else to do.
She shook her head and wanted to walk right past me but I made her stay put by blocking her way.
"I just want to watch what you're watching," I cleared out my intention but she seemed to have taken it as a threat because she took out her phone with shaky hands and gave it to me.
I would return her phone after seeing how frightened she was of the consequences of giving me her phone, but I already had the phone in my hand.
I turned it on and saw the city's vice Mayor in an interview. Leo finally let him go. I wanted to return the phone to her but saw a bullet go through the vice mayor's face, right in between his eyebrows.
Shocked, I replayed it and caught the red laser dot at that spot in his face before he was shot. It was a sniper that took him out. Fuck. It made me wonder if Leo knew about it. Or if he did it?
