102. Mae
Leo was standing behind him, with both hands in his pocket and a cocky smile on his face to take the attention away from his shades.
"Lade," Leo's voice was as calm as ever, surprising for the situation at hand. "Remember when I save your ass and cleaned up the mess you made? Now is the time to return the favour you promised."
"Wrong timing, Leo." Lade started to laugh.
"Right timing. You won't get any other chance to repay the favour you owe me since you are going to die later on today." Leo's words took back the laughter from Lade.
"Say another word and I put a bullet in her head." Lade moved closer to me so that the gun would be directly in front of my face.
"Go ahead, she's just the bait I used to bring you here... without security. You suspected that I was up to something and yet, stupidly enough, your curiosity to know what, made you follow it to know where it would end. I wanted you here at the location and at this time to kill you myself. You didn't think I'd trust her in killing you, did you?"
He didn't trust me to kill Lade? What was all I've been doing for the past months in the name of training for then? This asshole!
"You son of a..." Lade cursed and shot at the direction of Leo's foot at the same time to scare him but Leo didn't try avoiding the bullet.
When the bullet buried into the ground at his foot and splashed some grainy sand on his shoes, Leo took off his shades and gave an order that got an immediate response.
"Shoot his right arm," he said and immediately, Lade's right arm started to bleed. I didn't even see the bullet fly by.
I turned in the direction I thought the shot came from but didn't see anyone, then I looked back at Lade holding his bleeding arm and saw how many red laser dots were on him.
There was one pointed at his forehead, one to his chest, and one for each of his arms and legs. I took my opportunity and moved away from him the moment I could.
"I'll fucking kill you!" Lade was pissed at Leo.
"If you don't die today," Leo shrugged playfully with a chuckle. "Mae," he called to me sweetly but I knew I couldn't trust it."Are you okay?"
'Do I look okay?' was the question at the tip of my tongue but I didn't dare, not when there were snipers waiting on his orders around here. I just nodded. I was still standing so I was okay, I guess.
"Did he hit you? All through your stay with him?"
You've got to be kidding me. Such a question coming from a man who has hit me before.
"No, he's been busy so he asked others to do it." I decided to just tell him what he wanted to know.
"Do you want to play with him before I kill him?" A smile from him again would be enough to erase the memories of the many bad things he has done to me.
"No," I murmured. He could just kill him and get it over with.
"Are you sure?" He questioned and I just knew he wanted to watch me make Lade bleed. Somehow he enjoys it when I hurt people. I wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.
Lade lifted his left hand to take a shot at me but the sniper beat him to it; shot at his wrist and made him drop the gun. Leo let out a hearty laughter after that happened.
"Very stupid of you to come to the island of yours without security, Lade. The most stupid thing you've done since I've known you. And if I'm correct, this was an advice from Aaron?"
"I'm still marveled at how he managed to convince you to come here alone with her, despite your knowledge of my wanting her to kill you."
"He didn't convince me on shit! My securities have eyes in the sky, probably on their way here..." Lade forced out a laugh but heard Leo tsk.
"The drones in the air are mine, all mine. You really trust your aid, Aaron, don't you?" Leo bit his lips while laughing.
"You trust Pete..." Lade made him point but Leo still found it amusing.
"Yes, I do. I do trust Pete, but I wouldn't anymore if I raped his fiance and ask him to kill her so she didn't talk."
At that moment, I saw all of Lade's confidence drop.
"You know what? Coming here without security actually isn't the most stupid shit you've done. You really raped Aaron's wife to be, ask him to get rid of her and thought he would be okay with that?" Leo began to walk to Lade as he spoke.
"I see," Lade laughed but I could decipher the sorrow and fear in his voice. "You got Aaron to turn his back on me, huh..."
Lade's fear was growing. I could see it in him. I could feel it. I knew he was scared because for the first time since I've been with him, he was quivering. He was literally shaking. It that what I look like when I'm scared as fuck? I hope not.
"Mae," It was Leo. "Are you sure you don't wanna play with him?"
I looked at Leo, and then at Lade and for some reason, I felt pity for him even if he was just as horrible a person as Leo was.
"Just kill him," I wanted him to get it over with. I looked up and saw Leo's gun at Lade's fallen face.
Just one bullet to the head and I watched Lade fall on his face. He was dead. Just like that. He was actually dead. He fell at Leo's feet. Leo spat on his dead body before putting his shade back on and looking my way.
"Come here," he called to me but I hesitated.
