101. Mae

Two days later I was in a cabin like Leo said I would be. I'm still thrilled as to how he knew these things would happen so accurately. I mean, he is friends with Lade in the eyes of many but they weren't that close.

Lade almost forced me to suck his dick the night I was at his mansion but something important had come up. Someone had knocked that day and told him something that made him forget that I was there till today. And here I was in a room, sitting and waiting for Lade to return from shooting birds.

There was a gun waiting for me where Leo said there would and now I had it hidden in between my breasts. My breasts weren't the biggest one would imagine but they were big enough to hide the small pistol in. I used to hide cards there whenever Nina and I played.

"Two minutes. You have two minutes to run; there are no birds in the sky so you'll be my prey today." Those were his words the moment I set foot outside the cabin.

Sucking in a breath, I became prepared to run. Maybe I could just run away from him and not kill him... but Leo would find me, and he wouldn't be merciful.

"Run."

I shot off at full speed. Along the way, I became mad at the stupid dress I was wearing, it kept getting in the way of my legs thanks to the breeze I was creating from my running. And just when I thought I had run far enough, I stopped to look behind me. Lade hadn't moved a step from where he stood before I started running but he took a shot and grazed my arm.

It was at that point that I knew that either I wasn't as far away from him as I thought, or he had really good shooting aim. Has to be the aim. Shit. I started to run again and this time, he followed.

Breathing heavily, I continued running past trees, doing my best to not run face-first into any. I stopped to look behind me and saw that I had given Lade some distance so I inhaled as much soothing air as I could and started panting. And then, an idea hit me.

I looked around me for the tree that looked the easiest to climb on. Sitting on the branches of one of the trees, I saw Lade approach the area where I was.

I knew I had to reduce my panting. Lade came and stood right below the branch I was on, and I've never prayed so hard in my life. I prayed that the branch shouldn't break, and my prayers were answered I guess. The branch didn't break but a drop of blood fell on his neck.

He didn't look up immediately so I assumed that he didn't feel it fall on him but he did. He looked up just when I was happy he didn't initially. The moment he looked up, another drop of blood fell on his face. He wiped it away with his fingers and smiled at me.

I didn't move. I just looked back at him still he lifted his gun in my direction. I jerked up from my resting position and tried to get off the branch quickly but felt the tip of a formerly broken branch scratched against my wound.

Do I have a wound? I trailed my eyes up my right arm and saw the wound on it caused by Lade's gun earlier when it grazed me. I didn't feel it till now. Still looking at the wound, a bullet flew past me, shaking some leaves off the tree and reminding me that Lade had a gun pointed at me.

The adrenaline in my system refilled and I jumped off the tree, landing on my right arm. On the leafy ground now, I got on my feet. My right arm felt numb for some seconds and when I could feel it again, it was pain pumping through my muscles.

"Mary Yrote, daughter of Daniel Yrote," Lade's chuckle took my attention away from my hurting arm.

"You're not surprised. I take it that you already know who you are," he smiled and took a step towards me, but I took one away from him to keep the little distance between us.

"Leo knows too, I'm sure. Probably why he sent you here to kill me..." I swallowed after this sentence of his. He knew. He knew I was sold to him to kill him.

I suddenly started to feel the heat of all my running; I started to sweat profusely. Lade took another step closer to me, and like before, I wanted to move back from him but he grabbed her hurting arm to stop me from doing so.

Pulling me to himself, he cocked his gun and pressed the muzzle against my forehead.

"Where did you hide it?" He asked me a question that I had an answer to but I knew I had to deny knowing what he was talking about.

"Hide what?" I managed to force words through my mouth.

Without warning, he let go of my arm and scaled his hand down the opening of my dress, getting out the gun in my breasts and waving it to my face. "This."

Chest heaving with heavy breathing, one thing kept running through my mind. Run. Run for your life. I knew I should turn around and flee for my life but that would be stupid. If I ran, he'd kill me. If he doesn't, he would later, probably be slower and more painful.

I tightened my fist and threw a punch in his hair, hitting him in the face. I took his unexpected and decided to continue with it. I raised my left leg to hit him with a kick but he caught my leg.

He threw his hunting gun to free one of his hands before shoving me to the ground and making me fall with a thud.

Should I say sorry? Nah, he'd still kill me, he looked mad as hell. He'd surely kill me, probably send my body back to Leo to let him know that he had an idea of his wanting him dead.

"Say hi to your daddy for me, would you?" Lade smiled and was about to pull the trigger but a voice stopped him.
