Chapter 100: My Wife
Chapter 100: My Wife
Cattleya’s POV
"Catt, you should sleep, and we will face it tomorrow, okay?" Vlad said, leading me to my room. I couldn't help but hug him, saying, "Thank you for helping me."
He was a little stunned when I hugged him. He tapped my shoulder, "Everything will be fine. I'm sure of it."
"Thanks, Vlad," I said, kissing his cheek and locking the door. I only did that so that he would think my mind wasn't in a storm and that I would fall asleep tonight without thinking about anything.
I took a deep breath and glanced at the window. I needed to know what really happened to Jaxon. I couldn't just leave him there with a group of people who betrayed him.
I knew Vlad was working on it, but I had to take action before it was too late.
I slowly opened the window, and the wind greeted me. I placed my hands on the railing and slowly climbed down without making any noise. Then I bit my lower lip when I saw Vlad talking to someone on the phone in the living room. I tried so hard not to be noticed by him.
After that, I walked slowly towards his garage, climbed inside the car, and started it hastily.
I drove the car with full determination. Vlad ran outside when he heard his car start, and his mouth parted as he shouted my name, "Cattleya! You can't do this!"
But I was stubborn. I had to do this.
And when I arrived at the villa, the gate was open, and there were no guards, not even a single person. Could this be a trap? I walked inside cautiously, slowly pulling out the gun from my right thigh.
Then I heard a beep in my right neck – the chip. Vlad's voice said, "Catt! You know it's too dangerous! He's not at the villa... he's at the hospital! It could be a trap for you there now! They could kill you!"
My eyes widened, and I retreated faster outside when I saw some people inside the villa. They started firing bullets at me. I ran as fast as I could, hopped back inside the car, and said, "That was close. Okay, tell me, where can I find Jaxon? What hospital?"
Vlad replied, "No, you don't want to do this. Elise surrounded him with guards right now. It will only complicate things."
"Vlad, just tell me."
After a while, Vlad sighed and said, "I'll send you the address. But be careful!"
"Thanks."
I stared at the carplay, fixated on the address that Vlad had just sent me. And as soon as I arrived at the hospital, I knew I had to be more careful. I changed my dress into a white long-sleeved shirt, then grabbed a wig from the back of the car, transforming my hair into blonde. Then I also put on a pair of eyeglasses and a mask.
I walked inside and headed to the hospital's staff locker room. A doctor saw me and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Then I knocked him out, took his white lab coat, and sighed in relief. "Sorry, doctor. It will only take a few minutes."
I walked down the hallway and asked the nurse at the front desk, "Is there any patient here named Jaxon Moretti?"
"Oh, yes, doc. Third floor in the ICU."
I smiled at the nurse and proceeded to the elevator.
And when I reached the ICU door, the guard opened it for me. They thought I was Jaxon's doctor. I smiled at them, and to my surprise, Elise was there inside, holding Jaxon's hand. I saw that Jaxon looked pale; someone had just knocked him out before he arrived here.
Elise glanced at me while crying, "Do everything you can. Erase his memory or maybe do something! I don't want to lose him!"
Then I placed Jaxon in the wheelchair and said, "I have to scan his brain before performing any surgery."
"Oh, okay! That's what I'm paying you!" she said, pointing a finger at me.
I pushed Jaxon's wheelchair toward the elevator that led to the parking lot. The elevator door closed, and Elise asked, "Why are we going down?"
I smiled at her, took off my mask, and said, "Because Elise, you're going down with me."
“What the hell!” she shrieked.
Then I slapped her face so hard that it could make her deaf for a second. She gasped as she held the side of her face and yelled, "HELP!"
"It's too late now to ask for help, Elise!" then I grabbed her hair and slapped her face, "That's for taking what's mine! I should have killed you but you don't deserve to die, you deserve to suffer all your life!"
"He's mine!" he yelled at me.
"No, not anymore!"
But before she could react, I punched her in the face, and she slowly passed out right in front of my feet. I dragged Jaxon's wheelchair to the car and glanced at the unconscious Elise.
Jaxon slowly woke up and blinked his eyes when he looked at me. "It's... it's you..."
I closed the car door and returned to get Elise, but her guards were approaching me. "Shit."
Damn it. I shot at them, but they were faster than the bullets. I went back to my car and drove it like a pro.
Jaxon's weak voice asked, "What's happening?"
"I'm kidnapping you, Jaxon," I replied curtly.
He's under anesthesia and doesn't understand what I just said. He closed his eyes again, and when I looked at him, he had already gone back to sleep. I arrived at Vlad's mansion as morning dawned. My eyes were a little sleepy, but I managed to get Jaxon inside with me.
Vlad stepped outside, squinting his eyes. "Wait, is that Jaxon?"
Jaxon groaned and woke up, looking around his surroundings until his eyes landed on mine. He blinked his eyes slowly, and by the look of it, he was already back to the Jaxon I first met – the longing, the warmth, all of it – the Jaxon I had longed for so long.
He parted his lips and uttered my name in the most loving way and his words carried the weight of his feelings, "C-Cattleya... My wife."
I sighed in relief as I stared at him with tears in my eyes. Then I whispered his name, “J–Jaxon….”
