Chapter 59 "What? No!….Shimma! Shimma!“

Chapter 59 "What? No!….Shimma! Shimma!“
Mr. MATTIAS'S POV

“SHIMMA? MY SHIMMA?” I whispered, disbelief flooding my senses.

The scene unfolded before me in slow motion. She was fighting against a man, her face a mask of fear and defiance.

With anger boiling through my veins, fist clenched at my side, I rushed toward them.

“Hey! Get your hands off her!” I yelled, my voice cutting through the chaos.

SHIMMA'S POV.

Just as I felt myself being pulled toward the car, I heard a voice yell from behind me.

“Hey! Get your hands off her!” My heart raced because I could recognize the voice so perfectly. It—It can't be. I turned my head slightly, but the grip on my arm tightened painfully.

Before I could process it, Mr. Kelvin turned to confront the voice. But then, out of nowhere, I saw the person launch himself at him, delivering a hard punch to Mr. Kelvin's face.

My eyes widened because standing right before me was MR. M—MATTIAS. How can this be?

Mr. Kelvin stumbled back against the car, blood gushing from his nose. I stood frozen in shock. Was I hallucinating? Could Mr. Mattias really be here?

MR. MATTIAS'S POV

I couldn’t believe this was happening. I kept punching the man—-fueled by rage. “How dare you touch my woman!” I shouted, each word laced with fury.

The man was pleading now, barely able to speak through his pain. “Please, Sir, let’s talk about this! I didn't know she was yours,” he begged, desperation in his eyes. But it fell on deaf ears. I couldn't let him go without making him feel the consequences of what he had just done. The thought of what he did fueled my anger even more, I punched him again and again.

All I could think about was Shimma—how terrified she looked. Dammit.

SHIMMA'S POV

Mr. Mattias kept punching my boss, and I could already fear for Mr. Kelvin's life.

What if none of this was happening? What if this was just the drink I had?

I stood there battling with my thoughts, unable to process what was going on when I noticed my cab pull up in front of the scene.

With my heart pounding heavily in my chest, I knew I had to get out of here.

Without thinking, I rushed toward the cab, my breath coming in quick gasps as I climbed inside. The driver wasted no time, zooming off. I turned back to glance at the scene again, tears blurring my vision.

I quickly wiped away my tears as I saw Mr. Mattias gazing back at the car zooming off, his eyes wide with realization, as he released his grip on Mr. Kelvin, letting him crumple to the ground.

He looked like he wanted to run after my cab but then stopped, running his hand through his hair.

I faced forward, wiping my tears again. How did he find me here? It’s been two months.

MR. MATTIAS'S POV.

I watched in horror as Shimma’s cab pulled away.

I felt a sharp pang of panic and frustration. “No!” I shouted, my heart racing. I needed to catch up to her; I can't lose her after finding her. And I had to make sure she was okay.

Just then, I noticed the valet had parked my white Porsche. I dashed toward it, quickly taking the key from him, adrenaline pumping through my veins.

I hopped into the car, zooming off, hoping to catch up with the cab that had just taken Shimma away…

SHIMMA'S POV.

The cab pulled up in front of my house. I quickly paid the driver before stepping out of the car.

I glanced back to see if Mr. Mattias had followed me, but the road was clear. There was no sign of any car approaching.

I entered my house, closing the door behind me. I slowly walked to the living room, trying to replay the scene in my mind, but it still made no sense.

“I need to cool off. I really need a bath,” I whispered, my breath hitching in my throat as I made my way upstairs.

I stripped off all my clothes and headed straight to the bathroom. I turned on the shower, letting the water run over me from head to toe.

“Ughhh,” I groaned, feeling a wave of relief wash over me. But I soon got distracted by the sound of my doorbell.

I paused, waiting to hear it again. “Ding! Ding!” It rang for a second time.

I had just moved in here a month ago, and I barely had visitors. Could it be? No way!….

I quickly grabbed a white towel, rushing down the stairs.

“Knock! Knock! Shimma! are you there?!” I heard his voice, making me freeze in my tracks.

It was really him. It wasn't the drinks; it all happened.

But how? How did he manage to be my hero in a situation like that, even after abandoning me for two whole months?

I needed an answer, so I opened the door, my eyes landing on him. His expression a mix of relief and amusement.

“Shimma,” he muttered, about to reach for me, but I took a step back. He paused, his amused expression immediately got masked by a frown—a confused one.

I wiped my eyes, because tears had already started gushing out. I tried to speak but found it difficult, as though a million things were vying for my voice.

“Shimma, ate you okay? Why did you leave all of a sudden? And why are you staring at me like that?” He tried to touch me, but I took another step back.

“Aren't you happy to see me?” he asked. For the first time ever, I could see vulnerability in his eyes.

“What do you want?” I asked, my voice shaky.

“Shimma, what do you mean, what do I want? I came to look for you,” he said, taking a step forward. I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief.

“It's been two months. If you knew where I was, what took you so long to find me?” I challenged.

He hissed, running his hand through his hair. “Your father made it so difficult for me to find you. I tried, I swear, I never stopped looking for you.”

“Lies,” I muttered quickly. He ran his hand through his hair again, turning away for a second before returning his gaze back to me.

“Shimma, please, you have to believe me. I love you so much, and I would never abandon you.”

“How then did you find me in such a random place? A restaurant? I waited for two months that felt like an eternity, but you failed to show up. Instead, you showed up at a restaurant. M— Make it make sense to me.” I said, feeling my heart ache more than I had ever felt before.

MR MATTIAS'S POV.

For the first time ever, i could feel tears fighting it's way out of my eyes.

I had envisioned my meeting with Shimma so differently. I had envisioned her running into my arm, hugging me so tightly, while i hug her back with every i got.

I had envisioned my heart filled with joy and relief that i could finally hold the love of my life. How I could finally feel her skin, her hair, her smell…..

Not this, not this painful tears rolling down her cheek. God! It hurts so much.

How do i explain to her that i had no intention meeting her at that restaurant but what brought me here to California was her.

How do i explain to her that ever since she left, I haven't slept, eaten or lived life the way i used to when she was with me.

She was a lost light and in darkness i searched desperately to find her.

“Shimma, why don't you let me inside, we can talk better, and I'll tell you everything,” I said.

“No,” She muttered quickly and i felt my heart ache even more.

“W—what do you mean,” For the first time, i found it difficult to speak.

“I think it's best we both stay away from each other, It's best we both move on with our lives,” Shimma said, taking a step back as she shut the door close.

“What? No!….Shimma! Shimma!“.
