Chapter 22 Stay Away From Shimma!
“What did you just say?“ I asked. I was sure I didn't hear him right.
“I said I had promised Shimma dinner tonight, I already made reservations, and I don't want to keep her….,” Lucas stopped talking because I raised a finger, stopping him from saying whatever he had to say.
I knew it, I knew he was interested in Shimma, the way he stared at her when he walked into her office and saw the both of us. The fact that he was concerned about me being close to her. I fucking knew it! How dare he? How dare he ask my woman on a date?
“Cancel it,” I said bluntly as I watched a frown settle on Lucas's face.
“Why?“ He asked.
Why? Would it be right if I told him Shimma wasn't just my Best friend's daughter? Would it be right if I told him that she wasn't just an employee to me? Would it be right if I told him she was my woman?
“Stop questioning me, Lucas. Cancel that reservation. what I have to tell you is important, so I would advise that you take a seat,” I said to him, making sure he could sense the seriousness in his voice. Lucas lifted his hand, glancing down at his wrist watch. I scuffed, turning away.
Lucas took his seat, staring at me.
“What do you want us to discuss?“ He asked.
“Shimma,” I blurted out without hesitation.
“Shimma?“ He asked. Confused. I nodded.
“Yes, Shimma, What were you doing in her office earlier today? I don't remember asking you to go there,” I said, clasping my fingers together.
“I just wanted to introduce myself to her, since we would be working together. Why do you ask?“ Lucas asked. I smirked.
“I don't want to see you around Shimma, unless I ask you to,”
“Why?“ Lucas was quick to ask.
“Because she's…,” I paused. I wanted to tell him she was mine. But I felt it was best if I kept it a secret. It wouldn't be a good idea to tell Lucas about my affairs with Shimma. Lucas might ruin things for me. And I can't afford to let that happen. I will let Derry know about my intentions towards his daughter when the right time comes. But for now, Lucas should fucking stay away from her.
“Because she's what?“ Lucas raised a brow.
“She's my Personal Assistant. I don't want her being distracted by you. Stay away from her, so that she can focus on her work,” I said to Lucas but it seemed like all I was saying was falling on deaf ears.
Lucas scuffed, turning away, then he turned back to me.
“I never said I was going to distract her. I'm sure she needs my help, I have been working in this office for a few months now, and I can say I am quite familiar with everything already, how about you let me guide her,”
“Don't! Lucas you heard me, stay away from Shimma,” I couldn't hold it in any more, I couldn't hold in this rage burning inside of me.
“Why do you sound so furious? She's just your Personal assistant, and I don't see any reason for you to be mad at me. Or is there something else going on between the both of you?“ Lucas asked.
“Lucas, All I ask of you is that you should be focused on your work and the betterment of this Company. And as for Shimma, I'll personally teach her what she needs to know. And as for what I have said. This should be the last time you ask her on a date, this should be the last time you enter her office without my consent….this should“
“Why all these rules?“ Lucas interrupted me. I shut my eyes, trying to control my anger.
“Because I am the Boss, I run this company, and I make the rules. I'm I clear?“ I asked. He nodded slowly.
“It's fine, I heard all you said,” Lucas mumbled. I knew he wouldn't back down. One thing I knew about Lucas was that he was so strong headed.
“You may take your leave,” I said. And without saying any more words, Lucas stood up, making his way out of my office.
Immediately, I picked up my phone, dialling Shimma's number.
SHIMMA.
Just when i had returned from Mr Mattias office. My phone buzzed. It was an address.
“THIS IS THE ADDRESS, I ALREADY GOT US A TABLE AT THE ROOFTOP. PLEASE BE THERE AT SIX. SEE YOU SOON.“ I smiled while I read through the text. Lucas seemed nice. He was far different from Mr Mattias. Mr Mattias always appeared to be cold. That was why I couldn't express my feelings towards him. I didn't have the guts too.
But nevertheless, I love Mr Mattias. And I love that he happens to feel the same way.
It was past six, Lucas said I should be there at six. But I hadn't stop to wonder his reason for asking me on a date. I mean we have only met and conversed twice. There Is no way he could be interested in me.
Shimma, you're taking things seriously. He probably just wants us to get along, he seems like a nice guy, and I wouldn't mind being friends with him. As long as Mr Mattias doesn't mind.
Speaking of Mr Mattias. I was just about to leave my office so that I could meet up with Lucas at the restaurant when my phone rang. I checked my screen to see who the caller was. It was Mr Mattias.
“Hello babe,” I said.
“Shimma, where are you?“ He asked. His voice was firm. Why does he sound so pissed?
“I—I'm about to leave my office,” I replied.
“Don't go home without me, I'll drop you off,”
“Bu—but I came with my car,” I said.
“I'll drop you off, wait in your office, I'll be right there,”
“But…,” I couldn't finish my statement because he hung up the call. I wanted to tell him that I had somewhere to be. But he didn't let me finish.
Less than a minute later, Mr Mattias opened the door to my office. Closing the door shut as he made his way to me. His eyes filled with desire, and something else I couldn't quite put my hands on.
