Chapter 80 I Think You're Dirty
Harriet couldn't describe what she was feeling, and she didn't dare imagine what she would do if she really got pregnant.
In the afternoon, Tristan was working in his study and insisted that Harriet keep him company.
Harriet curled up on the sofa, reading a book.
Her phone suddenly rang. Harriet looked up at Tristan abruptly, "It's my phone."
Tristan opened the drawer, took out Harriet's phone and answered it, "Grandma... Harriet is taking a nap. Is there something you need? My health is almost recovered, I'm resting at home these days... We're doing well, don't worry... When Harriet wakes up, I'll tell her you called. Goodbye."
After he hung up, Harriet couldn't help asking, "Have you been answering my calls these past few days?"
"Yes."
"Tristan, how can you just go through my phone like that?"
"Don't worry, I'm just afraid there might be something urgent, so I'm answering your calls for you. Other than that, I haven't touched your phone."
Harriet said angrily, "When are you planning to let me go?"
"When you get pregnant."
Just as they were talking, Tristan's phone suddenly rang.
He answered the call. The person on the other end said something, and the smile on his face disappeared instantly. "Didn't we agree to use blood from the blood bank? You go tell her yourself. If she's not willing, then have the hospital stop the treatment."
After Tristan finished speaking impatiently, he hung up directly.
Harriet frowned, "Is Lark in trouble again?"
Tristan put down his phone, "Don't worry about her."
Harriet smiled faintly, "Actually, you don't need to pretend in front of me."
How could someone you hold dear in your heart just be ignored like that?
"I don't need to pretend." Tristan said calmly, "I told her last time that from now on we'd use blood from the blood bank, and she agreed herself. Now she's making a fuss and insisting you come give her a blood transfusion. I've always hated people who don't keep their word. If she wants to die, I don't need to stop her."
Harriet smiled, "Looks like I really did something to offend her in my past life, that's why she hates me so much."
Tristan wanted to say something, but was afraid she'd be unhappy, so he changed the subject, "What do you want to eat tonight? I'll have the kitchen make it for you."
"What if I want to eat out?"
"Whichever restaurant you want, I'll bring the chef here to cook for you."
"That won't be necessary." Harriet closed her book, "I'm tired."
"I'll go take a nap with you."
"No need!" Harriet got up and left angrily.
After dinner, Tristan left Cloud Bay.
Harriet didn't know where he went, and didn't want to know.
But since Tristan wasn't there, she had a chance to get her phone back.
There were no bodyguards outside the master bedroom. Harriet went straight to Tristan's study.
She thought the drawer would be locked, but found it wasn't.
Harriet got her phone and checked the calls and Twitter messages.
Fortunately, nothing major had happened. Tristan had answered most of the calls for her.
Harriet took her phone back to the master bedroom and replied to the messages on Twitter.
Chase called. Harriet quickly answered, "Chase?"
"Harriet, why didn't you come see me last week?"
"I had something urgent to deal with. I'll definitely come see you in a few days, okay?"
"Okay, I miss you so much."
Harriet smiled, "I miss you too. How have you been these past few days?"
After they chatted for a while, Nolan took Chase's phone, "Harriet, how is Tristan?"
"He's fine now."
"Are you still at Cloud Bay?"
"How did you know I'm at Cloud Bay?"
"I called you twice a few days ago, and Tristan answered both times. The first time he said you were taking a shower, the second time he said you were too tired and had just fallen asleep."
Harriet knew without thinking that Tristan did it on purpose. She could only explain, "Grandma asked me to stay and take care of him."
"Then take care of yourself."
"I will, thank you for your concern, Mr. Johnson."
After chatting for a few more sentences, they hung up.
Nolan leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.
"Mr. Johnson, why didn't you tell Ms. Getty directly that you already know she's trapped at Cloud Bay?"
"What's the point of saying it?" Nolan said quietly, "If she really needed my help because she was trapped, she would have spoken up just now."
"But Cloud Bay really does have a large number of bodyguards on watch, and Ms. Getty hasn't stepped out of Cloud Bay once. Isn't that being trapped?"
"Forget it." Nolan pressed his temples, "There are some things she doesn't want me to interfere with. The more I get involved, the more she'll resent it."
After Harriet finished replying to Twitter messages, washed up and lay in bed, it was already past eleven.
Tristan still hadn't come back. It looked like she could avoid this ordeal today.
Just as Harriet was about to sleep peacefully, her phone suddenly lit up.
She unlocked it to check and saw a photo from an unknown number.
In the photo, Tristan was lying in bed asleep, with Lark snuggled intimately in his arms, smiling sweetly at the camera.
Harriet's hand holding the phone trembled slightly.
This afternoon he swore he wouldn't care about Lark anymore, and tonight he couldn't wait to run to her.
This was Tristan.
Saying he hated people who didn't keep their word, when actually he was the one who embodied that phrase most thoroughly.
Harriet deleted the photo, pulled the blanket over her head and went to sleep.
The next morning.
Harriet got up and went downstairs, walking toward the front door.
"Mrs. Lancaster." The bodyguard reached out to stop her, "Sorry, without Mr. Lancaster's permission, you can't leave here."
Harriet smiled faintly, "Do you really think if I wanted to leave, you could stop me?"
The bodyguard looked troubled, "We're just following orders. Please don't make things difficult for us."
"If I wanted to leave, I could poison you all first, but I haven't, out of respect. I hope you can respect me too. Move aside."
"Mrs. Lancaster, if you just leave like this, we can't bear the consequences."
Harriet said coldly, "Then call Tristan right now and tell him I'm leaving today no matter what."
Just as the bodyguard was about to get his phone, Tristan walked in from outside.
"Mr. Lancaster." The bodyguard quickly reported, "Mrs. Lancaster wants to leave."
"What's wrong?" Tristan raised his hand to touch Harriet's hair, but she dodged.
"Don't touch me!" Harriet glared at him, "Tristan, I think you're disgusting."
Tristan frowned slightly, "You all can leave first."
"Okay."
Several bodyguards quickly closed the door and left.
"I didn't come back last night, are you angry?" Tristan explained, "Last night I..."
"I know, you were in Lark's bed." Harriet smiled faintly, "Mr. Lancaster is in such a hurry to have a child. Making me pregnant isn't enough, you still have to go have sex with Lark, right?"
Tristan's temples throbbed, "What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking nonsense?" Harriet smiled, "You dare to do it but won't admit it?"
"I did go see Lark last night, but I sat there for less than ten minutes before leaving. There was something urgent at the company. I worked all night, and came back as soon as I finished."
Harriet sneered, "I don't want to hear your excuses. Tristan, I want to go back to work. You'd better let me leave."
Tristan gripped her shoulders, "Didn't we agree that you'd stay home and prepare for pregnancy, and go back to work after you get pregnant?"
"Who agreed with you? That's just your own wishful thinking." Harriet's suppressed anger exploded instantly, "I never agreed to have a child with you!"
