Chapter 291 Harriet is the Romanov Family's Young Miss!
"I may not know much about this, but these two amulets feel completely different." Caspian handed the amulet to Mason. "Grandpa, take a look."
Mason took the amulet and examined it carefully. "You're right. Ms. Getty's amulet is not the one from the Romanov family."
"How is that possible?" Yvonne was stunned for a moment, then had a sudden realization. "I know! After Harriet stole the amulet, she was afraid we'd suspect her, so she immediately made a fake one to wear around her neck!"
"That way, even if she got exposed like now, she could still get away with it! The real amulet must be hidden somewhere!"
Everyone fell silent.
Harriet stepped forward, took back her amulet, and said seriously, "The amulet my grandmother left me may not be as valuable as your Romanov family's amulet, but to me, it's the most precious thing. It's not fake—it's one of a kind."
Ulysses immediately chimed in, "Harriet's right. Everyone has money. I can buy her any amulet she likes. She doesn't need to steal from you."
"Ms. Getty, please don't be upset," Caspian said. "I never thought you stole it. You're not that kind of person."
"Caspian..."
"I told you to shut up!" Caspian glanced at Yvonne and ordered the servants, "Go search my mother's room thoroughly. Find the amulet and clear Ms. Getty's name."
"Yes, sir." The servants hurried upstairs.
Mason stared at Harriet for a long time before speaking slowly, "Ms. Getty, when your grandmother gave you this amulet, did she say anything?"
Harriet thought back, her heart suddenly aching.
"No." Harriet held back her tears. "My grandmother hadn't finished speaking when I was taken away to give blood to your granddaughter Lark."
"You gave blood to Lark?" Caspian frowned. "That's impossible!"
"Why is it impossible?" Harriet asked back. "I've lost count of how many times I've given blood to Lark."
Caspian pressed further, "Lark has Rh-negative O blood. You don't have Rh-negative O blood, so how could you give her blood?"
Harriet looked at him. "Who told you I don't have Rh-negative O blood?"
"You have Rh-negative O blood? How is that possible?" Caspian's mind was in chaos. "I investigated you. You have O blood, not Rh-negative O blood!"
Harriet put the amulet back around her neck and said calmly, "Rh-negative O blood is rare. My grandmother was afraid I'd face unnecessary danger because of this blood type, so she registered me as just O blood."
"After all, it's not uncommon in this society for people to be kidnapped and have their organs harvested for rich people."
"My grandparents were both doctors. When I had minor illnesses as a child, they treated me at home. I didn't need to go to the hospital for blood tests, so no one knew I had Rh-negative O blood."
"Later, when I married into the Lancaster family, they protect all family members' personal information and wouldn't register my Rh-negative O blood type on the internet. It's normal that you couldn't find it."
Caspian's pupils suddenly contracted!
He looked at Harriet, who inexplicably attracted him, then at Sloane sitting quietly on the sofa.
A crazy idea formed in his mind. "Ms. Getty, may I borrow a strand of your hair?"
Harriet frowned. "What do you need my hair for?"
"To verify something."
Apex Global Group had a branch in Pinecrest. Tristan had gone to the branch for an inspection and meetings, only returning to the Romanov Manor at dinner time.
As soon as he entered, he sensed something was wrong.
Everyone was there, but he didn't care about the others—he only saw that Harriet's face was cold, as if she was unhappy.
"What's wrong?" Tristan sat down beside Harriet. "Who upset you?"
Harriet didn't speak.
Tristan glanced at a bodyguard standing nearby.
The bodyguard immediately came forward and whispered in Tristan's ear.
Tristan's face grew cold, inch by inch. He turned to look at Caspian. "Mr. Romanov, don't you owe me a reasonable explanation for why my wife was wrongly accused?"
"Pushing your mother? If I wanted someone from the Romanov family dead, would I need to go through all that trouble?"
"Stealing the Romanov family's amulet? My wife—does she need to steal anything she wants?"
"I never doubted Ms. Getty's character," Caspian said. "Once everything is cleared up, I won't let Yvonne off easy. I'll give you an explanation."
A servant came forward. "Dinner is ready."
Harriet composed herself and held Tristan's hand. "Let's go eat."
"Okay."
Dinner was eaten together.
Fortunately, the servants always prepared plenty of food, so there was enough.
After tasting a couple of dishes, Ulysses said admiringly, "This chef can really cook. Caspian, I want him. Let me have him."
Caspian said, "This is Mr. Lancaster's chef."
Ulysses' mouth twitched. "Mr. Lancaster really knows how to enjoy life."
Tristan glanced at him. "Instead of wasting time eating here, you should think about how to protect your sister. Do you think I can't touch her just because the Romanov family is protecting her?"
"Or did you come to the Romanov Manor to watch our every move?"
Ulysses: "Stop slandering me. Who's watching you? If I'm watching anyone, it's Harriet!"
Tristan's face darkened. "Who gave you permission to call her that?"
"Names are meant to be called, aren't they? I'm going to call her! Harriet! Harriet! Harriet!"
Harriet couldn't help but laugh.
"Harriet laughed! I'm the best—that's her first smile tonight!"
"Stop fooling around." Harriet suppressed her smile. "Let's eat."
"Okay."
After dinner, no one seemed ready to leave. They went straight to the living room for tea.
"Mr. Romanov! We found it!" A servant ran downstairs holding an amulet. "Mrs. Romanov must have taken the amulet off her neck and put it in a doll's pocket!"
Caspian took the amulet. "Bring Yvonne here."
"Yes, sir."
Within minutes, Yvonne was brought in by bodyguards.
"Take a look." Caspian pointed to the amulet on the coffee table. "This is the amulet from my mother. It was found in her room. You wrongly accused Harriet. Apologize."
Yvonne couldn't believe it. "That's impossible!"
"Why is it impossible?" Caspian said coldly. "Anyone with half a brain would know Harriet couldn't do such a thing. You were just too eager to go after her that you didn't even think."
Yvonne's face turned pale as paper.
Harriet touched the amulet around her neck.
The amulet on the coffee table was identical to the one she was wearing!
As the atmosphere grew tense, Ollie suddenly rushed in from outside, out of breath. "Mr. Romanov, the paternity test results are here!"
Caspian hurried forward to take the report and opened it.
The next second, he suddenly looked up at Harriet sitting on the sofa!
Harriet pressed her lips together slightly, stepped forward to take the report, and was completely stunned!
Her fingers trembled, and the report fell from Harriet's hands to the floor.
Ollie quickly picked it up and handed it to Mason. "Mr. Romanov, look! Ms. Getty... Ms. Getty is your real granddaughter!"
Tristan frowned!
Ulysses couldn't believe it. "Harriet... is Caspian's real sister? She's the Romanov family's daughter I was supposed to marry?"
"That's impossible!" Yvonne's voice rose involuntarily. "How could she be Grandpa's real granddaughter!"
Ollie nodded. "I personally sent the paternity test to be done. There can't be a mistake."
"Impossible..." Harriet composed herself and said, "I'm a child of the Getty family. My parents died in a car accident shortly after I was born. My grandparents raised me. There's no way I could be a child of the Romanov family!"
"Paternity test reports don't lie," Caspian said. "Look, here are the comparisons between you and Grandpa, my mother, and me. They all show we're blood relatives."
"More importantly," Caspian pulled out the last page, "to be absolutely sure, I had someone get Elowen's hair to compare with yours. The results show you have no blood relation at all—you're not real cousins. Harriet, you're my full sister, the Romanov family's biological child!"
Harriet couldn't believe it. "Impossible... How could I not be the Getty family's biological child!"
Harriet looked at Caspian before her. "Even if I'm not the Getty family's child, I can't be your sister. Your sister is clearly Lark!"
Mason spoke up. "That's right. Back then, Lark was found because she had our family's amulet. After she came back, she also did a paternity test with Sloane. The results confirmed she and Sloane were mother and daughter. What's going on? Sloane only gave birth to one daughter back then, not two!"
Ollie suddenly realized. "Mr. Mason Romanov, could Ms. Brown be an imposter?"
"How could she imposter?" Mason asked. "Her amulet is real, and how do you fake a paternity test?"
Ollie recalled, "Back then, Ms. Brown and Mrs. Romanov's hair samples were sent by York for the paternity test. We probably need to ask York about this."
"York was shot in the leg and is recovering in the hospital. I'll have someone bring him back right now."
