Chapter 290: Amulet Appears
Caspian smiled slightly, "If Ms. Getty wanted to harm the Romanov family, she wouldn't need to be so roundabout. My mother wants to stick to her 24 hours a day. If she really wanted to hurt my mother, it wouldn't be as simple as just pushing her."
Yvonne: "Caspian, you don't believe me? I'm your sister!"
Caspian looked at her, "It's precisely because you're my sister that I'm giving you one more chance. Did you really see Ms. Getty push my mother?"
"Yes!" Yvonne said indignantly, "I saw it with my own eyes. I can’t be wrong!"
Harriet calmly finished treating Sloane's wound before speaking, "Mr. Romanov, this is exactly why I insisted you install surveillance cameras."
She looked at Yvonne with a half-smile, "You didn't know there were cameras in the garden?"
Yvonne froze, "That's impossible!"
Harriet smiled brightly, "There weren't any before, but I specifically asked Mr. Romanov to install them to prevent being falsely accused. Oh, and for aesthetic reasons, we installed hidden cameras. No wonder you didn't see them, so you dared to slander me."
Yvonne's face turned pale! Mason and Caspian were both sharp. From Yvonne's reaction, they knew she was lying.
"I'm afraid Ms. Romanov did more than just lie," Harriet said with a slight smile, looking at her calmly. "If I'm not mistaken, you were the one who pushed Mrs. Romanov, weren't you?"
Caspian's eyes turned icy!
Yvonne trembled violently, frightened by his sharp, chilling gaze, and quickly denied it, "You're talking nonsense! How could I push Aunt Sloane! Harriet, you're making false accusations!"
Harriet said unhurriedly, "Although Mrs. Romanov isn't mentally stable, after spending these days with her, I've noticed she's a very cautious person. She's extremely careful even when going down stairs."
"And this isn't our first day playing on the swing. When she plays by herself, she doesn't dare swing that high. She would never fall like this. The only explanation is that someone did push her."
"At that time, only you and I were in the garden. If it wasn't me who pushed her, then it could only be you."
Yvonne was stunned.
She quickly turned to Caspian, "Caspian, I didn't! She's framing me!"
Caspian took out his phone, "Whether it's a false accusation or not, I'll check the surveillance footage and everything will be clear."
Yvonne nervously swallowed, only able to pray in her heart that the cameras didn't catch anything.
Caspian quickly pulled up the surveillance footage. His face darkened instantly, his hawk-like sharp eyes locked onto Yvonne's face.
Yvonne sensed something was wrong!
Caspian held up his phone and said word by word, "Yvonne, what do you have to say for yourself?"
In the video, Sloane was sitting alone on the swing.
Yvonne sneaked out from a corner, came up behind her, pushed her to the ground, then fled the scene and hid nearby!
Yvonne's legs went weak and she collapsed to the ground!
When she came to her senses, she quickly crawled toward Caspian on her knees, "Caspian, I was just playing around with Aunt Sloane! I didn't mean it!"
"Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe that?" Caspian narrowed his eyes, a chilling coldness shooting from them. "What did my mom do to you that you'd hurt her like this!"
"Caspian, I was wrong!" Yvonne trembled with fear and quickly turned to kneel before Mason, "Grandpa, save me! I really know I was wrong!"
The Romanov family had a strict hierarchy. Caspian was the heir, the person with the most power in the Romanov family. No one could question his decisions, and she had no right to resist.
The only person who might be able to save her was Mason!
Mason frowned deeply, his face dark with anger, "Yvonne, have you lost your mind? How dare you hurt Sloane so badly! If something serious happened to her, could you take responsibility!"
"Grandpa, it's not my fault..." Yvonne cried, "It's all Harriet's fault! She hit me that day, and you wouldn't stand up for me, so I had to find a way to get revenge myself..."
The coldness in Caspian's eyes deepened, "So you pushed my mom and tried to frame Harriet for revenge? How can the Romanov family have someone as stupid and vicious as you!"
"Grandpa, I really know I was wrong. Please help me beg for mercy, don't let Caspian punish me..." Yvonne cried and pleaded, her mind racing. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she pointed at Harriet, "I can make up for my mistake! I want to report that Harriet is a thief!"
Harriet was stunned.
"What are you talking about!" Ulysses, who had been silent, spoke up. "You failed to frame Harriet for hurting someone, and now you're accusing her of theft? Yvonne, have you gone crazy?"
Yvonne swallowed her humiliation and looked at Ulysses, "Don't worry, I'll prove it soon!"
Harriet smiled faintly, "It seems that because my husband is out today, the Romanov family dares to treat me this way."
Hearing this, Caspian's look at Yvonne grew even colder.
He knew exactly what kind of person Tristan was.
Only someone as reckless as Yvonne would dare to publicly accuse Tristan's wife.
Yvonne was typical of someone who had been treated like a princess here for so long that she thought the Romanov family was the most powerful in the world, not knowing how high the sky really was.
"Someone come." Caspian said, "Take Yvonne away and lock her up until I decide what to do with her."
Two bodyguards immediately stepped forward to take Yvonne away.
"Caspian, no!" Yvonne shouted anxiously, "I'm not lying! Harriet really did steal something! She stole a Romanov family heirloom!"
"Wait." Mason spoke up, "What did you say?"
Yvonne quickly broke free from the two bodyguards and came forward, "Grandpa, Harriet stole our family's ancestral amulet and is brazenly wearing it around her neck! If you don't believe me, you can ask her to show it, and you'll know I'm not lying!"
Harriet frowned slightly and pulled out the amulet hanging around her neck, "You mean this?"
"Grandpa, look! Caspian, look quickly! I'm not lying!" Yvonne said excitedly, "Harriet really did steal our family's amulet!"
"Who told you this belongs to your family?" Harriet frowned. "This is an amulet my grandmother left me before she died."
"Harriet, you don't even think before you lie?" Yvonne sneered. "This is clearly the Romanov family's heirloom amulet, worth a fortune. What kind of background does your grandmother have? How could she possibly have something so valuable!"
Harriet's eyes turned cold, "Say one more word about my grandmother and see what happens!"
Yvonne involuntarily shrank back but still argued, "Anyway, this is the Romanov family's amulet!"
"Ms. Getty, is this really from your grandmother?" Caspian asked.
Harriet looked at him, "Do you think I would steal?"
"That's not what I meant." Caspian immediately explained, "With Apex Global Group's wealth, Ms. Getty can buy anything that has a price."
"What I mean is," Caspian took off an amulet from around his own neck, "Yvonne's guess isn't unreasonable. Our Romanov family does have an amulet that was split in two. This is the other half."
Harriet looked closely and was immediately stunned.
The amulet in Caspian's hand was almost identical in size and quality to the one she was wearing!
Caspian said, "Ms. Getty, could you please take off your amulet and let me verify it?"
Harriet removed the amulet from her neck and handed it to Caspian.
The two amulets fit together perfectly, forming a complete circle.
Both Harriet and Caspian were stunned.
"Grandpa, I was right!" Yvonne became even more excited. "Harriet stole our family's amulet! She's a thief!"
"Harriet would never steal anything!" Ulysses said firmly. "Are you deaf? Didn't you hear Harriet say this was her grandmother's deathbed gift?"
Yvonne was furious, "You believe whatever she says? You trust her that much?"
Ulysses rolled his eyes, "Should I trust her or believe your lies? You're a stupid and vicious woman!"
Yvonne's face turned white with anger, "The evidence is right here, how could I be lying!"
Harriet composed herself and asked, "Since you say I stole this amulet, where did I steal it from?"
Yvonne instinctively looked at Mason.
Mason spoke, "These two amulets were given by me to Caspian and Lark. Lark was lost for over twenty years, and when she returned, the amulet came back to the Romanov family. After Lark died, I gave the amulet to Sloane to keep as a memento."
"That's it!" Yvonne said excitedly. "Harriet has been with Aunt Sloane every day these past days. She must have seen the amulet was valuable and stole it!"
Caspian immediately checked Sloane's neck but didn't see the amulet.
He called over the servant who took care of Sloane, "Where's the amulet my mom was wearing?"
"She's been wearing it all along," the servant said. "This is a Romanov family heirloom. After Mr. Mason Romanov had us put it on Mrs. Romanov, we didn't dare touch it."
"Caspian, now you should believe me, right?" Yvonne said triumphantly. "You treated Harriet as an honored guest, but she stole from our family. She's truly despicable! She should be thrown in jail!"
"Shut up!" Caspian gently rubbed the two amulets in his hands. "Ms. Getty didn't steal from the Romanov family."
Yvonne stamped her foot in anger, "Caspian, the evidence is right in your hands, and you're still protecting her!"
