Chapter 209 You Two Were Clearly Kissing
When Ambrose saw that Scarlett didn't push him away, he kept kissing her. Their breathing grew heavier, and he took the chance to pull her into his arms.
This embrace brought Scarlett back to her senses. Her rationality returned, and she quickly pushed him with her hands. He had to stop and lift his head.
The desire in his eyes hit her full force, telling her plainly that he wanted to have sex.
Actually, she was just as worked up as he was, but she still had something bothering her. Her watery eyes looked straight at him as she asked.
"When did you find out Octavia was an imposter?"
Ambrose guessed what she was thinking - she still suspected his relationship with Octavia.
Like last time, when he kissed her, she reacted as if he were dirty or something, completely disgusted. If he didn't clear this up today, he could forget about touching her.
"Before dealing with the Mitchell family." His voice was hoarse.
This statement made it clear that he knew the truth, which was why he dealt with the Mitchell family, and there was no way he would have touched Octavia.
Scarlett lowered her eyes, silent.
"I never touched her, or anyone else." He defended himself through gritted teeth.
Scarlett let out a soft snort, "Who knows?"
Ambrose was at a loss. What could he do? This was a situation of his own making, so now he just had to take it.
Scarlett wasn't the type to push her advantage. Seeing him go quiet, her tone softened when she spoke again.
"When you were dealing with them, you didn't tell me anything. I found out from the internet, seeing gossip and news reports about you getting close to the Mitchell family. You didn't respect me at all, and later, when I brought up breaking up, you just agreed."
Her words carried a hint of resentment, but it was exactly this resentment that let Ambrose know she cared.
He reached out and pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Scarlett placed her hands on his chest. His body was burning hot. Compared to her cool temperature, she felt wrapped in warmth. Her heart raced as she shyly glanced up at him.
He looked straight at her, his deep eyes no longer calm but serious as he said.
"From now on, I won't hide anything from you. This time, give me a chance?"
She unconsciously bit her lip. Could she give him this chance?
Today, she had asked Cody to help her get away from Ambrose. Not only did that fail, but now she was giving Ambrose a chance instead. This was the opposite of what she'd expected.
She felt so confused.
Seeing her bite her lip, Ambrose thought of how she liked to do that when they were having sex, and he immediately got aroused.
He swallowed, and without waiting for her answer, he lowered his head to find her lips.
Seeing how eager he was, and with something hard pressing where she was sitting, Scarlett had no mind left to worry about chances or not.
Her face flushed red, her whole body heating up. They hadn't been intimate for a while, and with his kiss, her whole body went weak.
Finally, she went limp in his arms, letting him kiss her.
Seeing this, Ambrose secretly breathed a sigh of relief. At least she wasn't rejecting him anymore.
Back then, when she wanted to break up, he agreed because he was angry that she could so casually say the word "break up."
Later, when he tried to explain, she didn't believe him, and things continued until today.
But from her asking Cody for help today, he realized he needed to change his strategy. As for what strategy, he hadn't figured it out until she suggested that Octavia might be an imposter. He went along with it to ease her concerns.
Sure enough, her attitude toward Hayden changed, and she was even willing to have dinner with Ambrose.
Ambrose pushed further, and finally got to hold her and kiss her.
Without any more concerns, the two kissed passionately, completely absorbed. Just as they were lost in their kiss, the door opened, followed by a scream.
It was Yara's voice.
The two little ones were back, frozen at the door, eyes wide as they stared at the scene inside. The next second, Hayden quickly covered Yara's eyes with his hand, and Yara used her own hand to cover his eyes.
Hearing the children's voices, Scarlett quickly pushed Ambrose away, her face flushed, so embarrassed she wanted to crawl into a hole.
She quickly got off Ambrose's lap and saw the children covering each other's eyes at the door. She took a deep breath, not knowing how to explain.
Ambrose was frustrated at being interrupted, but seeing the two little ones' silly actions, he had to deal with it - after all, these were his own kids.
He took a deep breath to steady himself, stood up, and gently touched her face.
"It's okay, they were going to see this sooner or later."
Scarlett turned and glared hard at Ambrose, then prepared herself and walked up to the little ones. "Okay, you can put your hands down now."
The two little ones finally lowered their hands, both pairs of big eyes staring straight at Scarlett. Scarlett said guiltily.
"Just now, Mommy got sand in her eye, so I asked him to blow on it."
After saying this, she saw neither of them made a sound and guessed they didn't believe her, but there was nothing she could do.
"You two were clearly kissing." Yara ruthlessly exposed the truth.
Scarlett froze.
Seeing she couldn't fool them, she had to redirect. She said to the two little ones.
"Go wash your hands, we'll eat soon."
The two little ones finally headed to the bathroom. Scarlett thought she'd gotten past that hurdle, but during dinner, Yara asked another question.
"Are you two dating?"
Scarlett looked at Yara in disbelief. Yara actually knew about dating?
"I saw it on TV. People who are dating kiss." Yara added.
Thinking back to last time when Ambrose slept in her room, and Yara could say things about making babies, that was probably from TV too.
She really couldn't let kids have too much access to electronic devices, they could easily pick up the wrong ideas.
"Yes, we're dating. Does Yara approve?" Ambrose cut a piece of steak and put it on Yara's plate.
Scarlett glared at Ambrose again. "What are you talking about?"
"They saw us, so we have to admit it. That's how we guide them to have the right values." Ambrose took the opportunity to claim his status.
Scarlett felt helpless. Since the kids saw them, she couldn't really deny it, or else she'd be teaching them it was okay to kiss randomly.
She stayed silent.
"If Mommy agrees, then I agree." Yara expressed herself like a grown-up.
Although she wanted Scarlett to love only her, she wanted Scarlett to be happy, and besides, Ambrose was good to her too. She liked him as a dad.
Scarlett's heart warmed. Yara was so thoughtful.
"Hayden, what about you?" Ambrose turned to ask.
Scarlett looked at Hayden. Since coming in, he hadn't said anything, and his expression didn't look too happy either. Did he not approve?
Hayden also glanced up at Scarlett. So that's why she was so nice to him today, because she was going to date Ambrose, not because she liked him. He'd been happy for nothing.
He lowered his head and mumbled, "Whatever."
With that, Hayden looked down and ate, ignoring them.
Seeing Hayden's reaction, Scarlett guessed he didn't really approve. Although she hadn't planned on dating either, seeing his reaction still made her heart ache a little.
After dinner, Ambrose got a phone call. Something came up at the company, so he couldn't go buy the dress. Scarlett thought about how the two kids were a bit hurt, so she went back to Lakeside Garden to rest.
In the afternoon, Finnian came to see her.
