Chapter 150 She Comforted Him
Seeing Ambrose remain silent, Octavia felt furious inside, but she still forced herself to hold it in and smile. "What I buy shows my feelings. How can you compare it to what others give?"
"Ulysses, wait here for me. I'm going to pick something out." After saying this, Octavia didn't linger and walked toward the toy display area.
Because the toy store was large, Scarlett was focused on choosing toys and didn't notice Octavia's appearance at all. After she spotted a limited edition robot Lego set, she pointed at it and said.
"Could you please get that Lego set down for me?"
A sales assistant nearby came forward gracefully, took down the Lego set from the shelf, handed it to Scarlett, and praised her.
"You have great taste. This is a newly arrived Lego set, a global limited edition. This is the last one."
Scarlett smiled and took it, reading the description on the outer packaging.
"Could you let me have this one?" Suddenly, a soft, gentle voice spoke up.
Scarlett looked up, and the moment she saw Octavia, the smile on her face gradually froze. She had run into her.
Octavia looked at her with a smile that hid daggers. "Scarlett, long time no see."
Octavia was also from Celestial University, in the dance department, and was very popular at school.
The two knew each other from a campus beauty contest.
The campus beauty title was voted on the school forum. Scarlett only found out about it after being voted campus beauty.
Afterward, she learned that only she and Octavia were competing for first and second place, as the other participants' votes were far behind theirs.
In the end, she became campus beauty by leading Octavia by just ten votes, but Octavia wasn't satisfied and spread rumors behind her back that she had used tricks to get the campus beauty position.
Although Scarlett didn't take it to heart at the time, they often ran into each other at school, and Octavia's attitude toward her was very hostile.
After all these years, the two had gone from being rivals to enemies.
"What a coincidence," Scarlett said coolly. After speaking, she didn't plan to stay there and was about to leave with the Lego set.
"Wait," Octavia called out.
Scarlett stopped, her eyes cold, then heard her pointing at the Lego set in her hand.
"My son likes this Lego set. Last time he told me he wanted it. I haven't seen him in a while and want to make him happy. Could you let me have it?"
Scarlett replied expressionlessly, "Sorry, my daughter likes it too. I can't."
After speaking, she started to walk away, but after two steps, Octavia's voice came again.
"I heard that you've been helping take care of Hayden these past few days. I want to thank you for that."
These words were undoubtedly the best weapon to hurt her.
Octavia not only showed off her identity as Hayden's mother but also mocked Scarlett, who had once beaten her, for taking care of her child.
How could Scarlett not hear it? She turned around and calmly retorted, "He's very well-behaved and likes me a lot, so naturally I'll give him extra care."
After speaking, she saw the smile on Octavia's face stiffen a bit, and she smiled.
Since Octavia wanted to show off, she would strike hard at the identity Octavia was proud of. Her son liking a woman other than his mother was definitely a hard blow.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going."
"Scarlett, I risked my life to give birth to Hayden, you know that, right?" Octavia said.
Scarlett shrugged and sneered, "Why would I need to know? What does it have to do with me?"
"I know about your relationship with Ambrose. Please convince Ambrose to give me back my child. You two can live your lives, and I won't bother you." Octavia said with a pretentious air.
"What's between you two has nothing to do with me either."
After speaking, Scarlett didn't stay any longer. She took the item and walked toward the checkout counter. Octavia, standing in place, watched her with gradually darkening eyes.
The bag in her hand was squeezed out of shape, looking somewhat frightening.
On Ambrose's side, he was mindlessly looking at his phone, while Ulysses beside him was saying.
"Ambrose, you're really something, making Octavia suffer for four years. The Mitchell family won't just let this go."
"A scumbag like you has the nerve to call me something?" Ambrose sneered.
Ulysses pushed up his glasses, a dark smile curving at his lips.
"How can I compare to you? At least I wouldn't be pathetic enough to let a woman suffer like this."
"About what happened back then, did you and Octavia really not scheme against me? If you hadn't, she wouldn't have waited until after giving birth to hand the child over to me."
Ambrose's words made Ulysses's pupils contract.
"What do you mean?"
Ambrose stared at him coldly. "The night Owen had his accident, what did you do to Scarlett at the Four Seasons Hotel? Octavia just happened to enter my room that night. You two had it all planned out from the start, didn't you?"
Ulysses frowned, "What happened to Scarlett that night?"
Seeing him actually bring this up, murderous intent suddenly gathered in Ambrose's eyes. He grabbed Ulysses by the collar. "Still pretending in front of me? Ulysses, when I get the evidence, if it was you, I definitely won't let you off."
Ulysses actually didn't know about Scarlett losing her virginity, but seeing Ambrose so worked up now, he smiled and deliberately provoked him.
"So what if it was me? What are you going to do about it? Who are you to Scarlett anyway?"
Killing intent immediately rose in Ambrose's eyes, "So it really was you that night?"
Ulysses just smiled, his face behind the glasses smiling in a very irritating way. Ambrose's anger surged, and he threw a punch.
"You actually dare to hit me!" Ulysses's nose was hit, and blood immediately flowed out.
Ambrose was prepared to throw another punch. Ulysses quickly reacted, dodged, and counterattacked. Ambrose had trained in kickboxing and easily avoided it.
Immediately after, he quickly attacked. Ulysses was pinned down by him and took two punches.
Scarlett, walking over, saw this and her face changed drastically. She rushed forward and grabbed Ambrose. "Ambrose, stop."
Ambrose had been blinded by anger. Hearing Scarlett's shout, he finally came to his senses. He looked up at Scarlett, saw her face full of worry, and reassured her.
"He deserves it. Even beating him to death wouldn't be too much."
Scarlett worried he really would beat someone to death. She grabbed his hand and pulled him. "Get up."
Ulysses, who had been pinned down, was finally released, but suddenly he got up, rushed forward, and threw a punch at Ambrose.
Ambrose was caught off guard and took a punch to the face. The next second, he raised his foot to kick Ulysses, but Scarlett hugged him.
"Don't kick him. If you kill him, you'll be held responsible."
But Ambrose had already kicked out. Ulysses took another kick and fell to the side. At this moment, Chase ran in and blocked Ambrose's way.
Octavia ran over. Seeing Ulysses's injured face, tears immediately streamed down her face as she pointed at Ambrose.
"How could you hit Ulysses? Ambrose, for you, I didn't even dare tell my family after giving birth to the child, but you turned around and not only went after my family but also won't let me see my child. How can you treat me like this?"
As she spoke, Octavia covered her face with both hands and cried bitterly.
