Chapter 138 Requesting Contact Information
"Scarlett, Tatum is getting cozy with some guy in his seventies. Looks like she's found herself another rich man. She's really something."
Briar's shocked voice came through the phone.
What a coincidence. Scarlett asked, "Where are you right now?"
"I'm at the golf course. A client is playing here and asked me out to discuss a contract. Just happened to run into Tatum. She must've given up on Brielle's side and is out here looking for a sugar daddy herself!"
Briar's words dripped with contempt.
"I'm coming over now. Meet me at the entrance in a bit," Scarlett said.
Briar caught on to what Scarlett meant, and her voice rose, "You're going to mess up her little scheme?"
While grabbing her bag, Scarlett told her what Tatum had done. After hearing it, Briar quickly said, "Then she definitely deserves to be taught a lesson."
Scarlett hung up and went downstairs, driving to the golf course.
In less than half an hour, Scarlett arrived at the golf course. Briar met her at the entrance, helped her change clothes, and headed straight to where Tatum was.
Briar brought Scarlett over to greet the client. When Tatum saw Scarlett, her brows immediately furrowed.
After Briar's introduction, Scarlett greeted everyone. Scarlett's appearance caught everyone's attention, and knowing she was Owen's daughter, they chatted with her warmly.
Tatum's eyelids twitched on the side. She had a feeling Scarlett's sudden appearance was aimed at her, so she didn't dare look up.
Scarlett chatted graciously with everyone for a bit, then played a few rounds of golf. Scarlett had played before and had some skill, which drew cheers from the crowd.
After that, Scarlett stopped showing off and turned to Upton, Tatum's new man, exchanging a few words with him before glancing at Tatum.
"Ms. Phillips, so it really is you. I was wondering earlier if I had the wrong person."
Scarlett suddenly called her out by name. Tatum had no choice but to look up with a forced smile. "I saw you greeting everyone earlier and thought you didn't recognize me, so I didn't dare talk to you much."
"You two know each other?" Upton asked in surprise.
Scarlett smiled sincerely, "Not only do we know each other, we lived under the same roof for over ten years."
Tatum's heart raced, afraid Scarlett would say something more, but in the end, Scarlett said nothing else and just took her club to go play.
At this point, everyone pretty much understood - Tatum and Owen used to be married. Actually, some of them recognized Tatum but didn't dare say anything.
During the break, Upton approached Scarlett on his own, and they sat down to chat in the rest area.
"Ms. Mellon came here today to find me, didn't you?"
Scarlett raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Mr. Harrison, you're joking. I really came to find Ms. Reed. She's here today to sign a contract, and I also know her client Mr. Saunders, so she asked me to come along. We just happened to run into you guys."
Upton didn't press whether it was true or false, but continued asking.
"Since you lived with Tatum for so long, what kind of person is she?"
"Mr. Harrison, I'm curious why you're asking this. What's your relationship with Ms. Phillips?" she asked deliberately.
"What relationship could there be? At my age, I need someone to take care of me. She's basically my girlfriend," Upton said quite bluntly.
Scarlett nodded thoughtfully. "But since Mr. Harrison is asking, I can't really say - you might not believe me anyway. I'll just tell you one thing and you can judge for yourself."
After a two-second pause, she said, "Before my dad got into trouble, I couldn't find fault with how she treated me. But as soon as my dad had problems, she immediately changed her attitude, divorced him, then took all the money from the house and disappeared without a trace. She only came back recently."
As soon as Scarlett finished speaking, Upton's expression didn't change much, but he didn't say anything either.
But Scarlett knew she had planted a landmine in Upton's mind.
Having achieved her goal, Scarlett chatted with Briar's client Kade Saunders for a while. She had worked with this CEO before and they had a good relationship. Learning that Briar was her good friend, he readily signed the contract.
After signing, he suggested having a meal together. Since he had done her a favor, Scarlett couldn't refuse and went to dinner with Briar.
However, Upton and Tatum didn't go together. Clearly, Upton wasn't planning to bring Tatum to various social occasions anymore.
Besides Briar's client, there were two other men, one of them younger. When leaving the golf course, he offered Scarlett a ride.
"Ms. Mellon, want to ride in my car?"
"Ms. Mellon, you young people have more to talk about. Just take Mr. Anderson's car!" Kade immediately chimed in.
Scarlett smiled, "Gentlemen, I drove here."
The young man smiled shyly, "Sorry, I didn't know."
Seeing his shy smile, she gave him a friendly smile too, "It's fine."
Everyone drove their own cars to the reserved hotel. During the meal, the young man asked for her contact information.
"Not easy - first time I've seen Mr. Anderson ask a girl for her contact info," Kade teased.
The man called Mr. Anderson was Caspian Anderson, the only son of the Anderson family, preparing to take over the Anderson Group and recently appearing frequently at various events.
Briar had filled her in on this gossip on the way.
In this situation, not giving her contact info would obviously kill the mood. She smiled and said.
"WhatsApp?"
"I'll add you," Caspian smiled, his eyes bright and clean like crystal lights.
In business circles, it was rare to see eyes so clean and clear without a trace of impurity. Scarlett was a bit dazed as she picked up her phone from the table to add him.
"Please accept the friend request," Caspian reminded with a smile.
She picked up her phone, her fingers moving quickly across the screen. After adding him, she sent a smiley face emoji. He replied with a smiley face and a rose. She glanced at it but didn't reply.
Putting away her phone, she started lunch.
As the meal began, Kade raised his glass first, "Come on, everyone have a drink."
Scarlett had driven and didn't plan to drink, but with the glass already raised, refusing wouldn't work, but drinking wouldn't either. Finally, she bit the bullet and said.
"Mr. Saunders, I drove here and have a very important meeting this afternoon. Let me toast with water instead."
"Ms. Mellon, we haven't seen each other in a while. Not drinking doesn't make sense. Just have a little - there are designated drivers, it won't affect your afternoon work," Kade said boldly, holding his wine glass.
