CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT
Chris decision
Feeling refreshed and relaxed, Nina resumed her herbs collection. She has her friends and Nana Sam and that's all that matters.
As Nina and Nana Sam gathered herbs, Nina questioned Nana about every herb they collected, and laughter followed as they chatted about everything under the sun. "Why do you think Han hates me so much?" Nina asked between giggles. Deviating from their fun conversation. Nana Sam chuckled softly, understanding that Nina didn't know when it came out. "Perhaps you should give him space." With their baskets full, they headed home, feeling happy and satisfied but Nina Anxiously wanted to see her son. A few moments away from him seems like forever.
Ham’s home……
Han sat in his room, his mind was consumed with the thoughts of how to drive Nina out of Yoma. The initial plans felt inadequate, too vulnerable to Nina and Nana's effortlessly counter. He needed a foolproof strategy, one that would guarantee Nina's exit from the Yoma clan without fail.
He couldn't understand why Nina came to the pack, in the first place. Han wondered about what her reasons might be. What compelled her to stay in Yoma? The questions swirled in his mind, demanding answers.
With a deep breath, Han decided to proceed cautiously, taking his time to gather information and devise a plan that would guarantee success.
As he mulled over his next steps, but then, he wanted Nina out as soon as possible. He knew he needed to act swiftly, yet prudently. Every detail of his plan must be meticulously planned to leave no room for error.
Lost in thought, Han began to sketch out a way to make his new plan work, plotting each move with precision. This time, he vowed, there would be no room for failure. As he thought, he smiled evilly to himself, and with a stern voice, he declared. “I would not rest until Nina was driven away from Yoma, her presence erased from our life once and for all.”
Yitta…..
Chief Cody sat in his study, his brow furrowed with worry as he wondered how Nina could just mysteriously disappear without a trace. Despite his relentless efforts to track her down, all attempts had yielded no results. The thought gnawed at him, making him helpless and confused. He was scared that Nina might still be out there, alive and potentially carrying his son's child. That thought alone was enough to tear every part of Nina out.
As he sifted through the news from his men, Chief Cody's mind sprinted with a multitude of possibilities. Was Nina dead or alive? And if she were alive, what would become of his son? The mere thought of Nina returning with a baby for his son sent shivers down his spine. He couldn't allow such a scandal to tarnish his family's reputation.
Lost in his thoughts, Chief Cody's gaze fell upon the photograph of his son on his desk. It had been a year since Nina left Yitta, and yet his son has shown no signs of moving on. Despite Chief Cody's best efforts to arrange suitable matches for him, his son had remained cold and disinterested.
Frustration simmered within Chief Cody as he deliberated his next course of action. He couldn't afford to let his son's future be jeopardized by Nina's reappearance. He felt that one day, Nina would come back and that would be disastrous. With a heavy sigh, he raised his voice and called Williams.
Moments later, Williams entered the study, his expression cautious as he approached Chief Cody's desk. The chief's cold attitude and seriousness were enough to tell him that something was off. And Williams couldn't help but be cautious so he doesn't offend him.
"Chief Cody, you called me, hope everything is alright? You are not looking happy." Williams inquired, sounding concerned and careful at the same time.
Chief Cody nodded, his gaze piercing as he regarded Williams. "Yes, Williams. I am worried that Nina might show up one day with a child. Do you know what this would cause to my son’s life? Distraction! He wouldn't concentrate. I don't want any of that. He must succeed me. And that good-for-nothing girl would definitely distract him. I need to find this girl urgently. My feelings don't lie, that girl might be on her own mission. I need you to gather our best men and intensify the search for Nina. I want every possible lead pursued, no matter how small."
Williams nodded, he could understand his Alpha’s plight. As he listens to his complaints, he thinks of the best approach to find Nina. "Of course, Chief. Consider it done, I will employ more men, I hope it works this time." he replied, ready to carry out the chief's orders despite his anxiety.
As Williams turned to leave, Chief Cody's voice stopped him in his tracks. "And Williams, keep me informed of any developments. I want to know the moment we have any news regarding Nina. Please do whatever you can."
Williams nodded once more before exiting the study, his thoughts engulfed by the daunting task given to him. With Chief Cody's expectations hanging heavily upon him, he knew that failure was not an option.
