CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Nana saved me

It was that time again when the two clans, Yoma and Yitta contested for the position of the Alpha.

Chris was determined to succeed his father and become the next Ultima Alpha. He had been training rigorously, pushing himself to the limit to prove his worthiness for leadership.

For the past months, he had been feeling regretful, he missed Nina and wanted her back, all his father’s plans to distract him with other girls had yielded no results. But then, he didn't know how to find her so he engrossed himself in the training just to distract himself from the thought of Nina.

Chief had done everything he could to get any information about Nina but he couldn't, it just seemed that Nina had just disappeared into thin air.

His hope was lost learning that ingo and Zoa killed themselves and Nina had run away.

He was worried, worried that Nina would come back and his son would accept the baby back but then he couldn't do anything else other than getting different women for his son who outrightly rejected them all.

Yoma…..

In Yoma, Han was also interested in the position of the Alpha. He was a strong contender, he was also preparing to stake his claim as the next Alpha. Like Chris, he dedicated himself to intense training sessions, getting better, at the task he was going to face.

However, amidst his preparations, Han bore an evil agenda against Nina. Learning about Nina, he resented her immediately. He didn't want to ever see her in Yoma. And he promised himself to do everything within his power to chase her out.

Amos, one of Han's trusted messengers in Yoma, nodded in understanding as Han instructed him to carry out the deceitful task.

"Please be careful and don't get caught. I want a very good clean job. Do you understand me?" Han cautioned, his voice laced with authority.

Amos nodded solemnly, affirming his comprehension of the task at hand.

Later, Han laid false allegations against Nina, accusing her of stealing the town's precious artifacts.

The villagers, spurred on by Han's accusations, searched high and low for the

The villagers, spurred on by Han's accusations, searched high and low for the missing treasures. Eventually, they uncovered them in Nina's room, sending shockwaves through the community.

As Nina was dragged from her home, pleading her innocence through tears, the villagers remained true to their belief in Han's accusations, refusing to listen to her protests.

“Please, I'm innocent, I didn't do it. I have stolen anything in my life before. Please hear me out. It must’ve been a mistake or someone is trying to set me up. I didn't do it, please.”

But Han's accusations struck a chord with the villagers, their trust in Nina shaken by the apparent evidence against her.

Han brought Amos out to explain to the villagers where the artifacts were seen. “My people, I stand before you all to testify against Nina. That our missing artifacts were stolen and hidden in her custody. She is guilty of the accusation leveled against her.”

When Amos finished talking, the crowd gasped in shock. They couldn't believe it. They turned against her, throwing doubtful glances her way and questioning her innocence.

“Please, believe me, I didn't do it. it was a mistake.” Nina begged.

Despite her heartfelt pleas, Nina found herself on the brink of being cast out of the town she had come to call home. Tears streaming down her face, she cried out in anguish, her cries falling on deaf ears as the villagers remained unmoved by her protests.

Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, Nana Sam, the respected spiritualist of the town, stepped forward to intervene. With wisdom and insight, she exposed the truth behind Han's deceitful accusations, revealing the innocence of Nina.

Nina felt alive again. What would have become of her if nana hadn't come? Where would she go? She was so grateful to Nana.

With her heavy pregnancy, she crawled and hugged Nana’s feet in tears. “Thank you nana, you saved me yet again. I'm very grateful.” She cried.

Nana leaned down and patted her on the back, trying to stop her from crying further. It wasn't good for her pregnancy.

As Nana Sam's revelation spread through the crowd, a wave of realization swept over the villagers. They looked upon Nina with remorsefulness, some of her friends felt bad for not believing in her. They tried to come close but Nina stopped them.

Friendship isn't only when things are moving soothingly but also when things seem rough. She didn't want to be mixed up with those who claimed they loved her only by words.

However, Han felt defeated, he wasn't happy he just couldn't bear the sight of Nina. It was she who shifted his father’s love away from him. He had hated the ground Nina worked on.

Even though Nina was vindicated he decided not to rest until Nina leaves Yoma. So, he began to set more plans against Nina.

But then, anytime he sees Nina, he acts like he has seen a devil, he isn't hiding it, it is clear from his actions. Nina could never figure out why Han hated her so much and Nana Sam has still refused to tell her who her Father was. She had pleaded with Nana but she refused.

"Nana, why won't you tell me who my father is?" Nina's voice trembled with frustration as she pleaded with Nana Sam.

"I've told you before, child. It's for your own good," Nana Sam replied firmly, her expression unshaken.

"But I deserve to know! I need to know who he is, it's so unfair," Nina insisted, her eyes pleading for understanding.

Nana Sam sighed heavily. "It's not that simple, Nina. Some things are better left unsaid."

"But why?" Nina's voice cracked with emotion, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Nina, trust me. You'll understand one day," Nana Sam replied softly, placing a comforting hand on Nina's shoulder.

Frustrated and confused, Nina turned away, feeling more lost than ever.
