CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

The unfriendly Meeting

Nina found relief and companionship in her new friends in Yoma. They laughed together, shared stories, and supported each other through thick and thin. Whenever Nina faced pregnancy troubles, her friends were there to lend a helping hand, offering words of encouragement and comfort. Their presence made her feel less alone and more hopeful about the future.

As they spent time together, Nina welcomed the Yoma way of life, immersing herself in their culture and traditions. She appreciated the delicious local cuisine, savoring every bite of the flavorful dishes. The simple joys of Yoma living brought her a sense of peace and happiness that she had never experienced before.

However, amidst the laughter and joy, there were moments when Nina's thoughts would drift back to Chris, her heart heavy with longing and regret. She missed him terribly and couldn't ignore the pain of their separation. The memories of their time together haunted her, reminding her of what she had lost.

One evening, as Nina sat with her friends around a crackling fire, the conversation turned to matters of the heart. Nina listened intently as her friends shared stories of love and loss, their words reverberating deeply with her own experiences.

"I miss him," Nina confessed softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Chris... I miss him so much."

Her friends exchanged sympathetic glances, their eyes filled with understanding. They knew the pain of a broken heart all too well and offered Nina words of comfort and encouragement.

"It's okay to miss him, Nina," one of her friends reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "But don't let your past define your future. You deserve to be happy, with or without him."

Nina nodded, her eyes brimming with tears. She knew her friends were right, but letting go of the past was easier said than done. Chris had been a significant part of her life, and despite everything, a part of her still longed for his love and acceptance.

As the night wore on, Nina found herself surrounded by the comfort and support of her friends, their laughter and friendship giving her joy and happiness.

Nina had finally found a feeling of peace and belonging in Yoma, thanks to the ever support of her friends. Their laughter and companionship filled her days with joy and happiness, easing the pain of her past struggles.

One day, as Nina was out exploring the busy areas of Yoma, she bumped into a young man named Han. But the way he looked at her gave her goosebumps.

Nina found herself wondering why he acted like that. “What did I do wrong? Did I by any chance offend him?” she thought to herself.

As Nina returned from the market, the meeting with Han troubled her mind. Her friends had already told her about who he was and Nina couldn't stop wondering what he had done to him that made him react in that type of way.

So, she made a decision to meet with Han and understand his reasons. For his action, Nina made her way to where she knew she would find him.

"Hello, Han," Nina called out tentatively as she approached him, she was nervous, as she didn't know what to expect. "My name is Nina, I arrived here a couple of weeks ago. Please can I have a moment with you?"

Han turned to face Nina, his expression guarded and distant. "Hmmm, Nina," he replied curtly, his tone lacking its usual cool.

Han had been power hungry and he doesn't hesitate to show it off.

Nina swallowed nervously, her palms clammy with anxiety. "I-I just wanted to apologize if I did something to upset you earlier," she began, her words hesitant. "I don't know what happened, but if I said or did something wrong, I'm truly sorry."

Han's gaze at Nina slightly and hissed, he couldn't even bear the thought of her. "I don't know what gave you the right, Nina, but don't come here asking me stupid questions." he replied, he stated sternly, glaring at her. "I don't want to see you around me, please get lost!” He yelled, startling Nina.

Nina recoiled at Han's harsh words, her heart sinking at the venom in his tone. She felt a surge of hurt and confusion wash over her, not able to understand what had prompted such a hostile reaction from someone she barely knew.

"I-I'm sorry, Han," Nina stammered, her voice trembling with hurt and disbelief. "I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to talk and clear the air..."

But before she could finish her sentence, Han cut her off with another sharp retort, his words cutting through her like a knife. "I don't care what you meant, Nina, or whatever you call yourself." he spat, his eyes blazing with anger. "Just stay away from me and leave me alone!"

Nina flinched at Han's outburst, feeling tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. She had never been spoken to in such a cruel manner before, and the pain she felt stung more deeply than she could have imagined.

Without another word, Nina turned and fled from Han's presence, her heart heavy with sorrow and confusion. She couldn't understand what had caused Han to react with such hostility towards her, and the unanswered questions swirled in her mind like a turbulent storm.

No matter how she tried to let go of the incident, she wasn't still able to get it out of her mind. She had hoped to find friendship and understanding in Han, but instead, she had been met with rejection and scorn.

With a heavy sigh, Nina wiped away her tears and she kept trying to put the event out of her mind. Knowing that dwelling on his hurtful words would only bring her more pain, and she needed to focus on healing and moving forward.

Henceforth, Nina had tried to avoid Han and anything that concerned him. She didn't want to ever go close to him or anything related to him.
