Chapter 41 Stylist
Victoria met with Heidi, who was complaining, "Why did this happen?"
Victoria looked pale and remained silent, pursing her lips.
"Don't be like this. If you attend Dylan's engagement party looking like a resentful woman, Erica and the others will think you care about Dylan," Heidi said.
"It's nothing. Brandon heard that I was going to the engagement party with your cousin, and he was unhappy about it, so I had to cancel," Victoria replied, lowering her head deeply.
Heidi listened and suddenly opened her mouth wide, looking surprised. "So that's why... Is he jealous?" Victoria was shocked and almost choked. "How could that be?"
"Why not? I didn't think of it before," Heidi blinked her eyes sincerely. "Which man would like to hear his wife call someone else 'husband'? I'm sorry for not thinking it through."
She patted Victoria's shoulder, but Victoria helplessly said,"You're overthinking it. He's just being selfish and has his own thoughts. It has nothing to do with jealousy."
Victoria didn't mention his cruel threats. He couldn't be jealous. Heidi didn't understand him well and thought too highly of him.
Just then, Elijah rushed over and said, "Miss Griffin, I finally found you." Victoria looked at him in surprise. "Assistant Hayes, what do you want with me?"
It couldn't be that the tyrant was up to something again.
Elijah looked her up and down and smiled faintly. "I heard Miss Griffin is going to a banquet, so I arranged for a stylist for you. Both of you, come with me for a moment." Victoria and Heidi looked at each other in confusion.
What stylist? Do we need a stylist for an engagement banquet?
Pushed by Heidi, they entered a styling room.
After being groomed for a while, Victoria emerged looking completely different. Outside, a beautiful dress appeared in the center, causing Victoria to exclaim in surprise.
"This is..."
"Of course, a good hairstyle should be paired with a good dress. This is for you," Elijah said with a smile.
Victoria put on the dress and when she came out, Heidi, who had just finished her own styling, was stunned.
"Wow, Victoria... you're so beautiful, and this dress... it's so gorgeous."
She twirled around Victoria. "No wonder he's an internationally renowned stylist."
Victoria looked at her in disbelief. "What stylist?"
Lowering her voice, Victoria said, "Don't you know? The stylist we just saw was Fendi, a famous designer that many big stars go to for designs. Brandon must have arranged this. Don't complain about him. I think he's been good to you."
"Is Brandon the one who brought you here?" Victoria asked with some confusion.
But soon she said, "This is like giving a sweet date after a slap, I won't fall for it, got it?"
Today, he threatened her, probably because he was afraid she wouldn't draw for him anymore, so he came to compensate her quickly.
Indeed, it's a good trick of the capitalists.
Fortunately, she is not like Heidi, not so naive. She won't fall for his tricks.
The engagement banquet is about to begin. The two beauties got out of the car and before they even entered the door, they saw the huge banner outside with the words "Dylan and Erica's engagement party".
Victoria's pupils shrank. Just a few months ago, she had fantasized about one day getting engaged to Dylan in such a grand and open way.
Now he's engaged, but unfortunately, the bride-to-be is Erica.
"Let's go, let's go in," Heidi urged. At this moment, however, there was a cry of surprise from the side.
"There are two beautiful women over there. Wow, who is that one in the blue dress? She's so beautiful."
They were all looking in the direction of Heidi and Victoria.
Victoria's vintage blue velvet dress was particularly eye-catching at this moment.
The two of them walked in, and Victoria felt a bit shy under all the attention. As she lifted her skirt, she met Dylan and Erica, who were standing outside welcoming guests.
Two people lifted their heads at the same time and saw Victoria, but they didn't recognize her at first glance. The woman in front of them had fair skin, was tall and slender, with her hair tied up in a bun, and a few soft strands of hair swayed gently on one side of her head. She looked dignified yet youthful, and had a pair of round and smooth earlobes adorned with a bunch of white pearl earrings. Her fragrant shoulders were partially exposed, and her long neck had a beautiful contour. The lines on her blue velvet dress were adorned with diamonds, which looked extremely gorgeous under the light. Victoria's striking features were even more prominent with her simple makeup.
Her outfit and dress were a perfect match. Dylan was stunned for a moment, and he couldn't recognize her at first glance. Instead, he was attracted by her perfect face. He wasn't the only one who was drawn to her. Erica quickly realized who she was and couldn't help but exclaim, "Victoria's?" Dylan then came to his senses and realized that it was indeed Victoria.
Erica noticed the momentary daze on Dylan's face and looked at Victoria with intense resentment. She couldn't help but wonder why Victoria wasn't wearing the dress that Heidi had bought for her that day. However, Erica quickly regained her composure and cast a bleak look at her fiancé, weakly grabbing his arm with a powerless grip.
Dylan turned his head and saw the sadness in Erica's eyes. His heart tightened. Damn it, he was just attracted by Victoria a moment ago. He lowered his gaze and quickly asked, "Erica, what's wrong?"
Erica gave a wry smile. "Dylan, I think Victoria is prettier, isn't she?"
Dylan hurriedly said, "I don't think so." He frowned and looked over at Victoria and Heidi, who were approaching.
Erica didn't see her husband with Victoria, and her heart skipped a beat. "Victoria, didn't you say you were bringing your husband? Why did you come alone?" Heidi was embarrassed. After all, she was the one who said she would bring her husband. "He's... busy. He'll be here soon. As a big businessman, he's always busy with work."
Erica felt a little better after seeing Heidi's obvious guilt. "Really? Victoria, did you forget to invite him? Are you afraid that Dylan will be upset if he sees him?"
She held Dylan's arm intimately. Dylan paused for a moment and said, "How could that be? She has nothing to do with me. I wouldn't be upset about anything."
Erica covered her mouth. "Ah, I'm sorry. I misspoke."
Victoria felt sickened by Erica's affected manner and gave her a cold glance. "It's just an engagement party. It doesn't matter if he comes or not. You can come when you get married." Can we get married?
What does this mean? Is she cursing them that they cannot get married?
