Chapter 39 Let my cousin go with you
"You've worn it for so many years in this big room, why don't you let Erica have it? She just came back and I want to be nice to her," Victoria said, trying to convince her mother to give the dress to Erica.
Julia's face turned sour. Victoria had become increasingly disobedient since she got married, even going as far as to give up her boyfriend to Erica. Julia couldn't believe it. "What did you say?" she asked Victoria.
Victoria sneered. "There are so many brands outside, and Erica hasn't even worn them. If you care about her so much, why don't you just buy her a dress?"
Heidi, who was standing nearby, chimed in. "Auntie, let me make it clear. I bought this dress for Victoria, and I won't let her give it away."
Julia was furious. She thought about how Heidi had spread rumors about Erica stealing Victoria's boyfriend, and now the two of them were like birds of a feather, conspiring together. "Victoria, I'm your mother. Can't you listen to me and give away a dress?" Victoria sneered again. "Mom, I'm already married. I don't have to listen to you anymore."
Julia was beside herself with anger. "Have I raised an animal all these years? Fine, it's just a dress. If you and Erica want to fight over it, we don't need it. The Griffin Family doesn't lack for clothes."
Julia glared angrily at Victoria and said, "Manager, give me one of each of the clothes in here, all in my daughter's size." The manager was delighted and his expression softened instantly. Erica was also overjoyed, especially when she saw the two people standing there dumbfounded.
Victoria, what are you so proud of? The more you confront people like this, the more my mother will compensate me. She must be jealous that I got so many clothes for free. With a smug smile at Victoria, Julia was too busy being angry with her daughter to notice.
Erica looked at her mother with a worried expression and said, "Mom, don't worry about it. These clothes are so expensive..." "What's there to worry about? You're about to marry into the Clark Family. This amount of money is nothing to the Griffin Family. Dylan treats you so well. When you get to the Clark Family, you can buy whatever you want. Unlike her, who has to ask her friends for money to buy clothes. She's just marrying for nothing." Julia said.
Victoria's face was very cold. Heidi, on the other hand, was furious.
"What do you mean? You don't know anything about Victoria's man. You don't know how good he is, he's a hundred times better than Dylan." Heidi said. Julia's eyes lit up and she said with a smile, "I haven't seen him, so how do I know if he's good or not? If he's really that good, Dylan and Erica would already be engaged. Why won't Victoria bring her man to the engagement ceremony? It's because she's afraid of being compared to Dylan."
"Haha, if he goes, he'll scare you all to death." Heidi said. "We won't believe it until we see him. We won't go if we can't see him." Julia said with a disdainful tone while buttoning Erica's shirt.
Heidi immediately became angry and said, "We'll go, who said we won't go? We'll all go together, Victoria, bring your husband too, and blind their eyes."
"Victoria, do you remember that Brandon's assistant, Tom, mentioned that he has a business trip to attend to during the same time as the engagement party?" Heidi asked.
Victoria nodded, "Yes, I remember that. But even if Brandon is not attending, it doesn't mean we have to go."
Heidi sighed, "I know, but I feel bad for what I said earlier. And besides, Julia is our friend. We should support her on her special day."
Victoria thought for a moment and then said, "Okay, let's go. But we need to apologize to Julia for our behavior earlier."
Heidi smiled, "Agreed. And we'll make sure to bring a big red envelope as a gift."
Victoria chuckled, "Yes, let's do that. And let's make sure to have a good time at the party too." Heidi nodded, "Definitely. We'll show everyone that we're happy for Julia and her fiancé."
"Anyway, they don't know your husband and they don't know that your husband is Brandon. I can ask my cousin to accompany you. They haven't met him and don't know him either," Victoria's friend reassured her.
Victoria had her doubts, but she returned to the villa where Heidi continued to discuss plans with her on the phone. Heidi had already scripted everything and Victoria didn't need to worry.
Heidi's carefree and playful personality was something Victoria admired. She was obviously spoiled by Master and Madam Miller, but that was nothing to worry about. Victoria had been the same way.
It wasn't until Erica returned that Victoria truly began to mature.
"Victoria, there's a problem here," Brandon said as he walked in and saw Victoria sitting there, chin in hand, looking worriedly outside.
"Oh, nothing. I'm just talking to Heidi. She's grateful that you helped the Miller Family set up shop in the mall today," Victoria replied.
Brandon's gaze shifted elsewhere as he calmly said, "It was arranged by Elijah. I didn't know." At that moment, Victoria saw that Heidi had sent her a voice message and couldn't help but click on it.
"It's settled then, Victoria. My cousin is so handsome, even more so than a celebrity. At the engagement party for that couple, pretend to be my husband and they'll be so envious," said Heidi.
Victoria blushed and looked up, while Brandon furrowed his brow.
No matter how handsome he was, Victoria knew deep down that he was nothing like Brandon.
Victoria stuttered, "Ah, I was just joking with Heidi. By the way, what's the problem with the blueprint?"
After the issue was resolved, Brandon went back to his room and his eyes flickered.
When Elijah entered, Brandon said, "Find out what Heidi and Victoria are planning, especially... Heidi's cousin. Who is he?"
Elijah sensed Brandon's displeasure and quickly went to investigate.
Soon, a picture of a man was presented to Brandon.
"It seems that Erica and Dylan are getting engaged and have invited Miss Griffin to attend the wedding. This man seems to be accompanying Miss Griffin..."
