Chapter 23 Ask her out
Did she really think that he couldn't live without her? That's why she dared to barge into the rooms of this villa and mess around with things here.
Elijah felt that something was amiss, but he didn't dare to speak out at this moment.
At this moment, Elijah caught sight of Finley, who was still lurking in the background and looking over here faintly, and his eyes flickered.
Brandon had been repeatedly wiping things inside for goodness knows how many times before he finally walked out. His gaze fell on the place where Victoria usually drew, and he took a deep look at the empty space before slowly retracting his gaze.
Elijah sighed inwardly and said to him, "Sir, we still don't know how to deal with Finley over there. What do you think..."
"Where is she?" Brandon interrupted.
"She's in the front," Elijah hurriedly led Brandon towards a room.
As they approached the room, they heard someone talking inside.
"Madam, you're right. That Victoria is indeed a problem. But don't worry, how could she possibly compete with me? I just used some means and easily got rid of her. The old lady doesn't know, her heart is just too kind, which is why she was deceived by her."
Who is this madam?
The only person in the Duncan Family who could be called madam was Lisa, right?
And Finley, who was close to the old lady, was actually in contact with Lisa?
The door to the Duncan Family was pushed open.
Finley was startled as she looked at the cold-eyed man behind her, her phone slipping from her hand and falling to the ground. She looked at Brandon, who had suddenly appeared here, with fear and anxiety on her face. "Young Master, it's not what you think. Let me explain. I was just..."
Brandon didn't waste any time on her excuses. "Finley, you've been with the Duncan Family for so many years, you should know my character. Are you going to tell me the truth, or do I have to force it out of you?"
Finley's heart trembled. Behind her, Elijah smirked slightly, which Brandon naturally didn't see. Under his oppressive gaze, Finley could only lower her head. "It was my fault. I heard from Madam that Victoria’s marriage to the family was for a purpose. I thought she would be a disadvantage to Young Master, so I designed to drive her away...I did it all for the sake of the Master...that's why I did it."
"Everything was done by you? Ha..." Brandon's eyes were filled with deep chill.
"You used my mother's things to drive Victoria away."
Finley shuddered. "I was wrong, Young Master. I shouldn't have used the things left by the late Madam..."
"Get out."
Brandon said it directly.
Elijah turned around and looked at Finley, who was as pale as a sheet. He quickly caught up with Brandon. "So Miss Griffin was framed. I knew it. She wouldn't mess around with things like that. Now look...Miss Griffin left the villa without taking anything with her. I wonder what kind of life she's living outside now. You..."
Brandon's expression paused. His face was gloomy, and he pursed his lips as if he was about to say something, but in the end, he just let out a deep sigh. "If she can't make it, doesn't she know she can come back?"
After speaking, he lifted his foot and walked inside.
Elijah watched Brandon's back in silence. What a shame, he thought, if only the master could have cleared up the misunderstanding and brought her back. Why be so stubborn now?
He sighed, wondering how the young mistress was doing outside, hoping she wasn't suffering.
Victoria woke up in Heidi's room and thought to herself that she couldn't stay here for long. She needed to find a place to rent and settle down.
As she was leaving, she overheard Heidi talking to Master Miller.
"The matter of having Victoria help out at the company temporarily has been settled."
"That's not a problem. I've known Victoria since she was a child."
"And she graduated from a prestigious university, so she's capable."
"I know. You should learn from her. She's more reliable and obedient than you. Look at what happened with Dylan. The Clark Family is now reconsidering letting us into their mall. It's probably related to your argument with him yesterday."
"That scumbag deserved to be beaten!"
"Come on, you're an adult. Can't you be more mature?"
Victoria lowered her head and quietly left the room.
Heidi had fought with Dylan for her sake.
Heidi soon caught up with her and Victoria quickly put aside her thoughts, following her out.
"Let's go. I'll take you to the company first."
Victoria worked as a clerk, while at Xu's company she just had to serve tea and water and watch from behind. Heidi joined the business department as soon as she entered the company, and had a lot to learn, keeping her busy all day.
During her free time, Victoria looked at houses and their projects and found that the Clark Family had really shelved their plans to move into the mall, which made her very upset. After hesitating for a moment, she opened her phone, looked at Dylan's name, and sent a message.
"Dylan, why did you shelve the cooperation with the Miller Family? If it's because of yesterday, I apologize to you."
Thinking that Dylan wouldn't pay attention to her, she was surprised when he replied after a while.
"What's the use of apologizing here? Come here if you want to apologize."
He sent an address, which was a bar.
Victoria hesitated for a moment, then hailed a taxi and went to the place he mentioned. Dylan was sitting in a spot inside with several classmates around his age. When they saw Victoria, they were surprised.
"Isn't this Dylan's girlfriend?"
"What are you talking about? They broke up a long time ago. This is his ex-girlfriend."
Several people stood up and teased her. Victoria stood there, looking at Dylan, who was lying on the couch with no expression. "I'm here now. Just tell me what you want to do."
Dylan sneered and looked at Victoria.
Dylan was still angry about what Victoria had said to him and Heidi earlier, so when she came to apologize, he immediately confronted her.
"You said you wanted to apologize to me. Is this how you apologize?" Dylan picked up the whiskey on the table and poured a full glass, staring at Victoria.
Victoria took a deep breath and faced his scrutinizing gaze. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
"If you drink all this, I won't say anything. But if you don't, I won't forgive you." Dylan challenged her.
For the sake of the Miller Family, Victoria took the bottle and drank a sip. However, she immediately felt nauseous and rushed to the bathroom, vomiting. Dylan was surprised and followed her, seeing her pale face and sickly appearance. "You seem to be sick. Call a doctor quickly," he urged.
Victoria wanted to refuse his help, but before she could speak, she started vomiting again.
The doctor arrived quickly. Dylan looked unhappy and told Victoria, "I'm not doing this for your sake. I just don't want you to die here and cause trouble for me."
Victoria was in agony and gave him a cold stare. The doctor frowned and said, "Are you pregnant? If you are, you can't drink alcohol. Here's a pregnancy test, go and take it."
Dylan and Victoria both froze as Victoria picked up the pregnancy test. "It's impossible, I can't be pregnant," Victoria thought, under Dylan's intense gaze. She remembered the time she had operated on Brandon while he was unconscious and her heart skipped a beat, but she had taken her birth control pills.
After a few minutes, she stared at the pregnancy test, her eyes widening in disbelief. Before she could react, Dylan started banging on the door, "Brandon, did you get the results? Why aren't you saying anything? Come out already!"
The pregnancy test almost slipped from her hand.
