Chapter 106 Old Lover
Erica thought about her plans to have late-night snacks with Dylan and didn't pay any attention to Victoria. Meanwhile, Brandon noticed that Victoria hadn't returned yet and asked, "Where did Miss go?" Elijah was pleased to hear Brandon refer to Victoria as "Miss" again. "Miss probably went back to the Griffin Family," Elijah replied. Although Victoria's relationship with her family wasn't great, they were still her family, and it wouldn't hurt to stay a little longer. However, Brandon furrowed his brow tightly. "She's been gone for so long? Go ask her." After Victoria disappeared last time, they didn't find her for two days, and they couldn't let that happen again. Elijah nodded and hurried off to check on Victoria. Meanwhile, Victoria sat on the wooden bed, holding her knees in humiliation. She heard some commotion outside and called out, "Auntie, you watched me grow up. How can you bear to keep me locked up here?" The woman outside sneered, "Who do you think you are, Miss Griffin? Everyone knows that Erica calls the shots in the family. You're just a fake, and Erica has been kind enough to you." Victoria was speechless. She had no idea that there were so many powerful people around her, if it weren't for the mistake she made, she wouldn't have known. Victoria stopped talking, but she could hear the panicked voice of her aunt outside.
"What are you doing? You can't do this... No, you can't!"
Victoria sat up straight, wondering if Brandon had noticed her absence and come looking for her. She knew he would come.
She stood up quickly when she heard her aunt go quiet and the door being pushed open.
"Duncan..."
But before she could finish her sentence, she realized that the person who had entered was not Brandon, but... Dylan?
Victoria looked at him in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Dylan looked outside and said quickly, "Let's get you out of here first."
Victoria knew she couldn't waste any time. She glanced at her aunt, who was tied up on the side, and followed Dylan out through the back door.
"Let's go to the hospital first," Dylan said. Victoria nodded and they went to a nearby hospital.
After confirming that there was nothing wrong with her body, she was given some medication to prevent a miscarriage before they left.
Dylan was standing at the door, looking at her deeply.
Although they no longer had the same relationship as before, Victoria had to admit that he had saved her this time. She smiled at his handsome face and said, "Thank you."
Dylan sighed, "It's okay. Uncle was in the wrong for doing this."
"How did you know I was locked up?" Victoria asked.
"I came to find Erica for a late night snack, and when I went downstairs, someone was guarding that room. I faintly heard your voice and felt that something was wrong. You weren't supposed to come back. I remembered Uncle always saying that he wanted you to come back to work for the Griffin Family, so I thought he must have locked you up," Dylan explained.
Victoria smiled, "I knew it. Erica didn't tell you."
Dylan looked at her, "How can you suspect Erica? It's true that Uncle Shen did it, but Erica has nothing to do with it."
You can never wake up a person who is pretending to be asleep.
Victoria sighed and didn't say anything more, "Anyway, thank you. Consider it a favor owed."
The two of them walked down the stairs together, and as soon as they reached the bottom, Victoria suddenly saw Erica standing on the street below, with Uncle Shen, looking at Dylan with sorrow.
Darian angrily pointed at Dylan, "Dylan, how could you take away someone from my family? You and Erica are engaged and will soon be married. You still have contact with Victoria. You...you're so fickle. How can Erica think of you?" Erica's face was full of tears as she looked at Dylan, "Dad, Dylan doesn't have that kind of intention. He's not fickle. He just thinks it's not right. Even if they break up, they're still friends. I believe in Dylan."
Dylan moved and gratefully said to Erica, "Thank you for believing in me, Erica. I really don't have that intention. Victoria is not a child anymore, and it's really not good to lock her up like this."
Darian glared, "It's none of your business how I discipline my daughter. Victoria, come back home with me."
Victoria coldly replied, "I'm not going back with you."
"Victoria, if you don't come back with me today, we're done. Don't even think about coming back to the Griffin Family again," he threatened.
Victoria laughed at herself, "When did you still treat me like a daughter? If we're done, then we're done."
"You..."
Darian's eyes flashed with a fierce look as he ordered his bodyguards, "Get her for me." Erica screamed in agony, "Dad, no, please don't..." Dylan also stood in front of Victoria and said, "No, you can't touch Victoria." The situation was about to turn violent when several tall bodyguards in black suits walked over from the street. They seemed to have been waiting there for some time, and their imposing figures made the Griffin Family bodyguards look weak in comparison.
Darian was taken aback. "Who are you guys?" Without a word, the new bodyguards knocked down the Griffin Family bodyguards and approached Victoria. "Madam, Mr. Brandon is waiting for you over there," they said, bowing respectfully to her. Victoria looked at them and then at the Rolls-Royce parked on the street. Brandon?
She signaled to Dylan and didn't even spare a glance at Darian as she walked towards the car. Darian was shocked and angry, shouting, "Victoria, where are you going? Come back here!" However, the tall bodyguards stood in front of him. "What are you doing? She's my daughter, and I'm her father. If you dare take her away, I'll call the police!" But before he could finish his sentence, the bodyguards picked him up and threw him aside.
Darian looked incredulously as he was thrown to the side of the road.
Several people looked on in disbelief as Victoria got into the Rolls-Royce behind. "Is that Victoria's husband?" Darian wondered why the man was so mysterious. After all, he was his father-in-law, but he didn't even bother to come and say hello. Erica looked shocked, too. Victoria's husband was so bold that even Dylan wouldn't dare to treat Darian like that. Who was this man exactly?
Victoria got into the car, and Brandon's face was barely visible in the darkness inside. "How did you find this place?" she asked curiously, thinking he would go to Griffin Family to find her. "What, did finding this place delay your reunion with your old lover?" he replied, his tone sarcastic.
