Chapter 168

Chapter 168

My gaze paused on Tamsin for a moment, then drifted away.

Since Tamsin wasn't saying anything, I wouldn't ask.

For this kind of thing, I trusted the Cooper family, and I trusted Jason.

That evening at home.

As expected, Jason pulled me close for some intimacy.

Afterwards, Jason clung to me, holding me in his arms, pulling my fingers to his lips and kissing them slowly.

He really loved being affectionate like this after sex.

I was too tired to even move my fingers, just letting him keep kissing them.

"Baby."

Jason's voice was full of satisfaction.

I didn't respond.

I was just too exhausted.

This guy had way too much stamina.

Jason didn't mind and continued, "I have a business trip tomorrow morning."

I finally lifted my eyelids and looked at him lazily, "Great, I can finally get some rest."

Jason bit my finger in displeasure - it didn't hurt, just tickled.

He stared at me with a wounded look, "Say something like that again, and I'll make up for all the times we'll miss over the next few days right now."

"You're not afraid of dying in bed?"

I rolled my eyes at him and teased, "If the media reports you died from too much sex, wouldn't that be embarrassing?"

Jason stroked my fingers suggestively, drawing out his words in a seductive tone, "Baby, you're underestimating me. Even if we fucked until dawn, I could still show up at the airport full of energy."

I pulled my hand back, "Young people need to show restraint. I don't want to accompany you to a men's health clinic in the future."

Jason's eyes darkened, "Baby, are you trying not to sleep tonight?"

I immediately shut my mouth, turned over and closed my eyes.

"Good night!"

I slept well last night and woke up early.

After making breakfast for Jason and Jessica, Jason left for the airport.

Jessica went upstairs for her lessons after breakfast.

She really loved learning. She'd recently added taekwondo to her schedule, keeping every day packed full.

Compared to this father and daughter, I was completely idle.

Every day, besides cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and watching shows on the couch, the only other thing I did was mess around with flowers in the sunroom.

When chatting with Lily, I mentioned Jason's business trip.

Lily's voice on the phone was full of excitement, "That's great! Sue, I'm coming over for dinner after work! You have no idea how much I've been craving your cooking!"

Considering Lily was coming over for dinner, I specifically drove out to buy groceries.

By the time Lily arrived, the food was already on the table.

"Sue, your cooking is so delicious! If I could, I'd want to live here and eat your food every day!"

Lily ate hungrily while giving me a thumbs up.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, serving her more food, "There are spare rooms here, why don't you stay at my place?"

I looked at Lily seriously.

But Lily shook her head, "Never mind, your husband would throw me out of the country."

"He's on a business trip these few days. Why don't you stay here while he's gone?"

"Okay."

Lily came over with her suitcase after work the next day.

I'd already prepared a guest room for her in advance.

Lily flopped on the bed and rolled around contentedly, then lay there looking at me with bright eyes, "Sue, living with you is so great. You arrange everything, just like my mom!"

I looked at her with amusement, "Thanks for such a high honor!"

Lily just laughed.

I looked at her closely.

Based on my understanding of Lily, my instinct told me something was off with her.

Since no one else was around, I just asked directly, "Lily, nothing's happened recently, has it?"

Lily's movements paused almost imperceptibly, and she turned away to avoid my gaze, "No, nothing."

Around dinnertime, we had another visitor.

Watching Ryan walk in naturally, then glancing at Lily eating as if nothing was wrong, I suddenly understood something.

Lily didn't say anything, and I stayed silent too.

Ryan naturally sat down next to Lily.

I got him a new set of utensils.

Ryan took the bowl and ate quietly.

The table fell into an awkward silence.

Lily was the first to break, "Mr. Scott, Jason's not home. Isn't it a bit inappropriate for you to show up uninvited?"

Ryan responded matter-of-factly, "With you here, Jason won't misunderstand."

Lily continued eating, "Not necessarily. Jason's famous for being jealous."

Ryan frowned slightly but said nothing.

Jessica's gaze moved between the two of them, then she asked me quietly, "Did Lily and Ryan have a fight?"

I replied, "Probably."

Lily hadn't told me the details, but looking at how they were acting now, that seemed about right.

Jessica was confused, "Then why are they fighting at our house? Don't they have anywhere else to fight?"

Me: "Good question. I'm curious too. But never mind, let's eat and watch the drama unfold."

Jessica: "What's drama?"

I forgot she was still young and didn't understand the meaning.

I explained, "Drama means watching something interesting happen."

Jessica blinked, seeming to understand, and nodded.

After the awkward dinner ended, I was cleaning up in the kitchen.

Jessica suddenly ran in, her tone mysterious, "Mom, Lily dragged Ryan outside!"

I raised an eyebrow, "They left?"

Jessica volunteered, "I'll go check!"

She ran off on her little legs.

Less than two minutes later, Jessica ran back, her little face full of excitement, "Mom, mom! They're kissing! And hugging each other, just like you and Dad!"

My mouth twitched.

I dried my hands, turned around and pressed down on Jessica's shoulders, pushing her upstairs, "Go upstairs to your room, and don't come down tonight."

Jessica grabbed the railing and wouldn't let go, "Why? Didn't you say we were watching the drama?"

Watching drama was one thing, but this kind of adult drama was better left unwatched.

I coughed, "I'll watch, you won't."

"Mom, I want to too..."

"No, no, no, you don't. Be good and go upstairs."

"Okay."

Jessica was very obedient and went upstairs.

Only then did I breathe a sigh of relief and shake my head helplessly.

Passing by the window, I turned to glance outside.

Good grief, those two were still kissing!

I looked away and went back to the kitchen.

By the time I came out of the kitchen, the two of them were back, sitting at opposite ends of the couch in silence.

My gaze paused on Lily's obviously swollen lips, and I found it rather amusing.

These two were quite good at putting on a show.

Just moments ago they were kissing passionately, and now they were back to not talking.

Ryan sat for a while then left.

Lily coughed awkwardly twice and said, trying to cover up, "I'm going to shower and rest."

I raised an eyebrow, watching her flee upstairs, then settled comfortably on the couch to watch TV.

The next evening, Ryan showed up at the house right on time for dinner.

I watched him serve food to Lily.

Lily served food back to him.

The two of them went back and forth, exchanging loving glances, the sweet and sticky atmosphere almost giving me cavities.

This was too much!

These two could fight all they wanted, but why did they have to come to my house to flirt?

Just because Jason wasn't home!

These annoying people!

I felt helpless and somewhat frustrated.
