Chapter 135
Jason caught the pillow smoothly and walked toward me step by step.
My whole body tensed up instantly. I stared at him warily and said, "I'm warning you, don't try anything funny."
Jason pouted, bent down to place the pillow properly, and while I wasn't paying attention, he cupped my face and kissed me hard!
Without giving me a chance to speak, Jason turned and left.
The bedroom door closed behind him.
My face flushed as I touched my lips, but I still got up to lock the door.
Without locking it, I worried he might sneak in during the night.
Even though I didn't have to go to work anymore, I still woke up on time in the morning.
The new kitchen was big and spacious.
I quickly made breakfast, and just as I came out carrying a bowl, I saw Jason returning from outside in his workout clothes.
I tilted my head and asked, "It's so cold out, and you still went running?"
I used to go for morning runs too, but now the temperature outside was close to freezing.
Jason smiled and answered, "Exercise keeps you in good shape, so I can satisfy you."
My face instantly turned red, and I shot back, "Who asked you to satisfy me!"
Jason's smile didn't fade. While wiping his sweat, he replied, "Well, I want to make you more satisfied, okay?"
I couldn't be bothered with him and went back to the kitchen to get breakfast.
When I came out, Jason was gone.
I didn't wait for him and started eating on my own.
Jason showered and changed clothes before coming downstairs. When he saw breakfast, his eyes lit up, and he sat across from me to eat.
After eating, he cleared the dishes while I went upstairs to change.
When I came back downstairs, Jason was sitting on the couch. Hearing footsteps, he turned his head and stared at me intently.
His gaze was so intense that I couldn't help but suspect he wanted to do something to me.
With a blank expression, I ignored him, grabbed the car keys, and headed out.
Jason quickly caught up with me. "Where are you going?"
"To pick up Jessica. You didn't forget why I agreed to move, did you?" I asked.
Jason opened his mouth and mumbled quietly, "Our time alone together is so nice, why bring her over so soon?"
I glanced at him, too lazy to comment, and walked out.
Jason was about to follow me when his phone suddenly rang.
He stuck close behind me while answering the call.
I don't know what the other person said, but Jason stopped and said to me, "Sue, something came up. I can't go with you."
Without looking back, I got in the car and left.
I first went back to the rental apartment to hand things over to the landlord, then drove to Old Cooper Mansion.
Jessica had already packed her luggage and was sitting at the door waiting for me to arrive.
When she saw me, Jessica's eyes instantly lit up, and she rushed over, cheering, "Mom!"
I hugged her tight and kissed her hard. "I missed you so much!"
As I was bringing the suitcase out of the villa, I saw Grandma Cooper directing the servants to put the luggage in the trunk.
As soon as Grandma Cooper saw me, she came over with a big smile. "Sue, the villa is very spacious. Let me live with you guys, okay? I've been with Jessica for so long, and suddenly being apart makes me feel terrible."
Since Grandma Cooper put it that way, I had no reason to refuse.
Plus, Grandma Cooper had always been good to me, so I could only nod and agree.
I drove them both back to the villa.
Considering Grandma Cooper's bad legs, I cleaned out a room on the first floor for her.
After changing all the sheets and bedding, I hung Grandma Cooper's clothes in the closet.
Grandma Cooper watched me with a smile, her eyes full of affection. "Sue, you're so good."
I smiled helplessly.
"Let's arrange for some servants to work at home, so you can relax a bit," Grandma Cooper suggested.
But I immediately thought of those two unreliable nannies I'd hired before.
I now had zero trust in this kind of service industry.
"No need, I think this is fine. I'm not tired," I gently refused.
Grandma Cooper didn't insist and nodded with a smile. "Whatever works. Everything should follow your lifestyle habits, granddaughter-in-law."
After finishing the room, I carried Jessica's suitcase upstairs.
Jessica happily helped me organize things.
Once everything was more or less done, I checked the fridge and went out to buy groceries.
When I came back, Jessica was sitting on the couch playing with her tablet, while Grandma Cooper sat beside her watching a TV show.
After briefly greeting them both, I went to the kitchen to cook.
When Jason came home, I was cutting vegetables.
He walked into the kitchen while rolling up his sleeves. "Sue, let me help you."
Considering his cooking skills, I pointed to the sink and said, "Wash the vegetables clean."
Jason paused, then obediently walked over. "Okay."
When the food was ready, Jessica came running over, drawn by the smell.
"Yay! I get to eat Mom's cooking again!"
I was amused by her reaction. "Isn't the chef's cooking at the Old Mansion good?"
"Definitely not as good as Mom's cooking. Mom's cooking has Mom's flavor."
Jessica said proudly, "Mom's cooking is the best!"
I smiled and shook my head, asking Jessica to help carry the plates.
Grandma Cooper came over, too, and the four of us sat at the dining table.
After Grandma Cooper took her first bite, her eyes instantly lit up. "Delicious! You're such a good cook!"
"I'm glad you like it." I smiled.
Grandma Cooper ate happily, but halfway through the meal, Jason took away her bowl.
"Grandma, you've eaten too much tonight. You can't eat anymore."
Grandma Cooper glared at him angrily. "Your own cooking is terrible, and now you won't let me eat Sue's food?"
Jason said helplessly, "If you eat too much at night, you won't digest it well. You'll feel uncomfortable if food sits in your stomach."
"What do you mean? Are you saying I'm old!" Grandma Cooper slammed the table angrily.
Seeing Grandma Cooper getting angry, I quickly soothed her. "Grandma, don't be upset. You're not old at all. In my eyes, you're very young!"
Seeing Grandma Cooper's expression soften a bit, I added, "But you really shouldn't eat too much at night. It's not good for your health. If you feel uncomfortable, we'll worry about you. Besides, I'll cook for you every day from now on."
Only then did Grandma Cooper calm down. She held my hand and smiled. "Sue is so good!"
She glared at Jason. "Not like Jason, who doesn't know how to talk at all!"
Jason acted as if he hadn't heard and kept eating.
After dinner, Grandma Cooper directly ordered Jason, "You go clean up."
She pulled me to the living room. "Sue, you've been busy all evening. Come watch TV with me."
I nodded and sat down on the couch with Grandma Cooper.
Jason cleaned up the kitchen and went out to take out the trash.
When he came back, Grandma Cooper deliberately pulled me close and said in front of Jason, "You can't spoil men. The more you spoil them, the lazier they get. You have to make them do things. That's how you train a good man."
