Chapter 13 Jealous?
By Valeria
When we entered the hotel, he signaled to two girls.
Tonight was a trio.
When we got to the elevator, he winked at me and went off in search of those... ladies.
My love would remain hidden deep within my soul.
I don't want to earn heaven by suffering for love.
With him, I might win some battles, but not the war.
Now I know that nights of pain, jealousy, unease, and tears await me...
I'm realistic; he wasn't going to fall in love with me. If he ever decided to marry, it would be with someone from his social class, and he would continue living his life.
No, I don't expect anything from him.
A kiss, a caress, and words about how much he desired me, and nothing more.
I heard him arrive with two girls, their laughter, and the door closing.
My destiny was solitude.
Solitude in my soul and in my body.
I would drown every desire that arose in me.
If I fell into his arms, I would lose much more.
I could hear them; it seemed like the damn walls had nothing to do with a luxury hotel. If you asked me, I would have sworn they were made of paper.
Once again, I confirmed how painful it is to love.
What was I expecting by falling in love with a man like him?
Emotionally, I am definitely an idiot.
I feel the days of loneliness approaching.
I don't know when I fell asleep.
A message from Alejandro woke me up, telling me to come to his room.
"I'm not going to kick two women out of your bed."
I replied to the message.
I regretted it the moment I hit send.
"I'm alone."
I put on the first thing I grabbed, a red sundress and wedge sandals, easy to put on and take off.
I entered his room.
"Alejandro, please get dressed."
"I'll shower, prepare a suit for me, you look like you just woke up."
"It's strange that you're so awake after last night."
Once again, I spoke too much.
"A black suit?"
I asked, trying to cover up my previous indiscretion. Seeing his smile, I realized how much my words amused him.
"Jealous?"
"In your dreams."
"In my dreams, you're always there."
"A white shirt?"
"You decide."
I was about to fetch his clothes when he asked for a massage.
I looked at him suspiciously.
"Really, I slept little and I don't want to take so many aspirin."
"Sit down."
I massaged his temples and shoulders.
Feeling his skin was driving me crazy, but I knew that was all the contact we could have. I was just his secretary, and I knew that if that changed, I wouldn't even be his secretary anymore.
There was a chasm between us; to him, I was just a momentary whim.
"Alright, sir, see you in 30 minutes in the lobby."
"Did you have breakfast?"
"I just woke up, no, I haven't eaten."
"Order breakfast to be brought up."
I knew such intimacy would end badly.
"I'd better wait for you in the café in 20 minutes, it's getting late."
He said nothing. I took the quickest shower of my life, barely combed my hair, and left with it still wet. I ordered breakfast, and it arrived just as he walked in.
I felt his gaze full of desire again.
"Everything looks sexy on you, the wet hair... I hadn't imagined you in the shower yet."
"Alejandro..."
He winked at me.
Everything is about sex for him, I hope I have the willpower to keep saying no.
We closed the last contract.
We had dinner at the hotel.
We had to get up early.
"Can you pack my suitcase?"
I told him it was no problem and headed to his room.
"I'm staying for a drink, let me know when you're done and leave out some travel clothes with coats handy."
"Yes, sir."
"Don't call me sir in Buenos Aires."
When I finished packing his luggage, I let him know.
He read the message but didn't reply.
After a while, from my room, I heard him come up with two women. It seemed like the same voices from yesterday.
My hands were trembling.
He doesn't stop; he's a sex machine.
Tears streamed down my cheeks like waterfalls.
I brought this on myself, falling for his charms when I shouldn't have.
At least he didn't replace me with another after being with me.
I fell asleep crying.
The next morning, when the alarm went off, he hadn't called me.
I sent him a message.
"Come to my room."
Already dressed and ready to go, I heard his room door open.
I hurried in and saw the two women still in his bed.
I felt sharp pains in my chest.
"Wake them up while I shower, I've already paid them."
I looked at him with hatred; he had gotten used to me kicking the women out of his bed.
"Ladies, please, you have to leave now."
"The room is paid for, let us sleep."
"No way, you need to leave, now."
"Are you the one from the other day? I loved your dress."
One of them said.
"You need to leave now."
I managed to get them out. As they were at the door, Alejandro came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. They tried to come back in.
"Please, ladies, he's already paid you, now you need to leave, thank you, very kind of you, he enjoyed it, good morning."
I followed them out and entered my room.
Each woman is more beautiful than the last, but all of them are striking, bordering on the ordinary, it's his type of woman.
I remembered I hadn't bought anything for Emi.
Luckily, the hotel's stores are open 24 hours and I had seen a Victoria's Secret store.
I let him know I'm going to buy something for my friend and that I'll meet him in the lobby.
I left my luggage and bought two sets for Emi, one for Carla, and another for myself. I was leaving the store when I saw him coming.
"Now it's my turn to buy, wait for me."
He went in and bought three sets, one red, one white, and one black, all lace.
When the plane took off, he told me they were for me.
"I can't accept them."
"I swear they're your size."
I blushed again because he couldn't take his eyes off my chest.
"Alejandro..."
"They're for you, at some point you'll model them for me."
"Stop saying things like that."
"Well... better yet, I'll take them off you myself."
"Do you want coffee?"
I asked to make him stop talking like that.
"Yes, double and with two aspirins, and massage my temples, you've got me addicted to your massages."
"Do you want... massages?" asked the flight attendant, who overheard our conversation about massages.
"In any case, later."
He replied, winking at her. I realized they were talking about sex.
"I need to update you on other subsidiaries."
We moved to a small lounge where the plane's staff couldn't hear us. He was very careful and distrustful in business, of course, he's a lawyer.
We sat next to each other, and he opened his laptop.
He updated me on some companies I didn't know were theirs.
"Please, don't mention other companies in meetings that aren't our own because there are directors who think they're competitors and work better that way. The hotels are Omar's and mine, not my father's. We have some partners with few shares, but I don't like how they work, that's why I'm not opening branches in another country, I like to have control, of everything."
He said the last part looking into my eyes.
I was dying of anxiety having his wonderful gray eyes so close.
The moment passed, and luckily he didn't kiss me, he's so seductive that I lose my mind.
He circled around what he wanted to tell me.
"I'm going to talk to you about another company. I know at some point we'll have to sell it because my father doesn't agree, he says it's trouble. I handle it with Omar, the thing is... Omar's father is a federal judge, and it's Omar who could cause problems for his father."
I looked at him without understanding.
He lowered his voice.
"Omar and I bought a chain of motels, there's no prostitution or anything like that, but if they find out Omar is the owner, even if there's no prostitution, it's very easy to create a scandal for his father, and his entire career goes down the drain. They could reopen cases he handled, even impeach him, that's the worst-case scenario."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"I trust you."
"You don't know me."
"To be my secretary, you were investigated."
"Do you investigate all of them?"
"Yes, Susana handles it. Not all are investigated so thoroughly, most I know won't last."
"Do I have my job because I didn't sleep with you?"
"No, well, that was at the beginning. Now you have it because you deserve it. If you sleep with me..."
"If I sleep with you, as soon as you get tired, I lose the job."
"No, not anymore."
He didn't say he wouldn't get tired of me, but that I wouldn't lose the job.
That hurt too.
He talked about other companies.
The morning passed.
We had lunch in the dining area and then worked, both sitting on a couch, looking at his laptop, reviewing some contracts.
"You're the best secretary I've ever had."
He said at one point as he got closer and his hands caressed my neck.
He sought my mouth while leaning me back on the couch, ending up on top of me.
I was feeling him in all his manhood, my belly was on fire.
He kissed me with a passion my ex-boyfriend never showed.
"Vale, there's a room, let's go, please."
We were both losing our senses.
Too many kisses, too many caresses.
We sat up, and when I was about to give in, the flight attendant approached, asking if he wanted the massages now.
I froze.
They must have had something before.
He looked at me, knowing I wouldn't go anywhere.
My eyes fixed on the laptop.
I waited to see how, seconds after kissing me, he ended up in another's arms.
"I'm busy, miss. Didn't you notice?"
The moment had passed, and I almost thanked the flight attendant for interrupting us.
We kept working.
