Chapter 94
"Come here" he whispered, moving her closer to his embrace.
"I'm sorry for everything that happened. I apologize for my inability to protect you. It's all my fault. I take the blame and I thank you for being strong and brave all through these times"
She sobbed and sniffed on him. Oh, how she misses how he smells.
"You are a very brave woman and every time I think about you, you always give me a reason never to doubt your presence in my life"
She sobbed on his shirt and wrapped her hands tightly around him.
"Can I spend the night here?" He requested.
She looked up at him wearing a smile. "Are you seriously asking me that?"
"I will read you poems" he whispered, stroking her gently, his eyes fixated on her.
She nodded. "Let's do that. I will feed you and you will feed me"
They both roared in laughter.
He suddenly held her chin, looking at her seductively. He moved her chin closer to his. "I'm all yours, baby" he whispered seductively, moving his lips to hers. She closed her eyes patiently anticipating the restoration that comes from his lips locking with hers.
"Hmmm," she hummed melodiously after a kiss. "I missed this" she whispered, putting her hands around his neck, moving him closer to her.
"You know....like Butterfly Rising said, you just met me at the place where my soul aches to wander and a million stars are unfolding around us and I look at you and I'm wondering how I ever lived in anything less breathtaking than this"
He smiled as he placed his forehead on hers. "The kids will be upset if they hear you say that"
Olivia laughed.
"Excuse me, I need to do something before we go inside"
She nodded as he walked away.
He brought out his phone and dialed Gerald. "I need you to have your men look into Harlow and Aldo, they must be up to something but ensure...."
"I was about to call you sir. Harlow and Aldo are presently out of New York, it seems they're relocating or going on a trip"
"What? What do you mean?"
"I'm sorry sir"
Olivia strolled towards him, wondering what was going on.
"I apologize for not taking note of that. Nevertheless, I will have my men to look into them. I already have some men trying to figure out their present destination"
"Yes boss"
Chester hung up and returned his phone to his pocket.
"What's going on?"
"It's nothing to worry about. Let's go inside"
"Really, Chester?"
"I'm serious. It's nothing, let's go" he reassured, taking her hands.
"Are you sure?"
He nodded. "This is not the time to worry. You will ruin our mood"
When they walked inside the house, Olivia walked straight to the boy's room to check up on them. Surprisingly, they were fast asleep. She proceeded to Adriana's room and found her sleeping as well.
"I think today has to be the best day of my life. I can't believe all these beautiful children are mine" he whispered behind her ears as they watched Adriana sleep.
"Today? I thought our wedding....."
"So I thought but damn! Do you see how pretty that princess is lying right there? How about the geniuses in the next room? They are all ours. We are blessed, Olivia!"
"Ssh, let's go. Adriana might wake up any time soon"
They walked into her room and he lay on the bed. After changing into a sexy pajamas, she lay on his broad bare chest, getting lost in his warmth and fragrance.
"I will read you the poem now"
She nodded.
"I was going to take you on a date and read this to you before the accident happened but I'm so glad I've got the opportunity to do this again"
She smiled and wrapped her hands around him. "Let's hear it"
"Falling in love with you was easy, there was nothing complex about the way you were ready to embrace me. I fell in love with the way you met me halfway; no pieces to pick up, no ulterior motives. You were ready to love me with your heart open and your soul naked. You walked into my life when I was discovering who I wanted to become. I was setting boundaries. I was breaking bridges. I was building foundations. I was seeking forgiveness. I was choosing me. I was searching for peace, and I found you, someone who brought the softest touch to my heart and ignited my soul. I knew at that moment - no storm could destroy, no darkness could diminish and our love was a sure thing."
"I love you, Chester" she confessed and dozed off.
Olivia woke up to turn off her alarm. It was 5 am and Chester was not in bed and it made her worry. She walked into the bathroom, and searched through the house, and the children's room but he was absent.
Was everything a dream? She wondered.
Olivia heaved a sigh and opened the refrigerator. She brought out a bottle of water and slurped down.
She felt goosebumps on her at the sight of something strange. She could bet on her life that she saw someone. Immediately, she heard a noise by the window. At this moment, Olivia felt too nervous to move her feet but she was the only adult in the house, her kids were in their room. If anything goes wrong, her children's lives will be at stake.
With that confidence, she took a bold step and another to her window. To her surprise, she found no one.
Just as Olivia was about to return to her room, her door was kicked open and a masked human walked in pointing a gun at her. Her heart was racing faster than ever, she was sweating profusely.
"There's no way you can stop me or survive this" the masked human stated corking the gun.
Before Olivia could count from 1 to 5, she heard the gunshot and caught the bullet at a quick glance running out of the pistol.
"There...that's where it all ends. You were destined to be this" she told herself, falling on the floor.
