Chapter 144 Victoria Gives Birth to Emily in Pain.
She felt pain all over her body!
The pain was so intense that she felt she couldn't breathe, like she would die the next second. But Victoria couldn't accept it. She still had Emily in her belly! Emily had been in her womb for eight months, and she had never seen the world.
She despised Zachary for his coldness and cruelty, but she loved her child deeply.
She longed so much for the birth of her baby, so she couldn't just die like this.
She couldn't die!
Victoria took deep breaths, as if trying to alleviate the pain of the contraction of the uterus.
She lifted her head and let out a desperate cry with all her strength. "Is anyone here.? Save my child." She cried.
No one heard her cries for help.
Outside, the celebration continued, and everyone was oblivious to her crying.
Downstairs, people were still immersed in joyful dances and music.
Victoria propped herself up on the floor, enduring the excruciating pain as she crawled towards the bedroom door.
She hoped someone would come to aid her and her unborn daughter. Blood trailed from the floor to the stairs.
Between her legs, more blood gushed, dripping from the luxurious staircase. It was like those nights when Zachary whispered sweet words to her but suddenly withdrew, leaving her to bear the dual pain of losing her father and giving birth.
What dripped down was not just Victoria's blood, but also tears. She collapsed in a pool of blood, finally discovered by a servant.
Two drops of blood fell from the back of the servant's hand, and she looked up, then let out a scream, "Madam!"
On the staircase, Victoria lay in a pool of blood, her pale silk nightgown stained with blood, her body twitching slightly due to excessive blood loss.
The villa descended into chaos. The servants screamed and searched for the driver and calling Zachary.
But Zachary's phone was off. He was overseas, seeing Yara one last time before her passing.
Sackler General Hospital.
Doctors and nurses rushed in and out of the delivery room. Each time the door opened, a strong smell of blood filled the air. Mrs. Sackler sat on a bench, ans she was expressionless.
She had called Zachary, but his phone was off, and even Secretary Thomas couldn't reach him.
It was unacceptable!
No matter how, she was his wife after all. At such a moment, he would even bother to shed tears for Yara.
The door opened again with the doctor hurrying out.
Mrs. Sackler sat up and asked anxiously, "What's the matter now?"
The physician removed his mask, lowering his voice to say, "Transfusion administered, yet her physical state remains precarious! She is presently unfit for a cesarean section, while a natural birth would overly tax her frailty! Mrs. Sackler, it may come to a choice between the mother and the child!"
Mrs. Sackler slumped into a chair.
Regardless of her sentiments towards Victoria, this decision should not fall within her purview. Whether something happened to Victoria or the child, she wouldn't be able to explain it when Zachary returned.
But now, it seemed that only she could decide!
Mrs. Sackler remained silent for a long time before mustering some strength. She whispered, "Save Zachary's child!"
Before she could finish her sentence, her throat was stuck. Lauren's hands tightly gripped her throat and her eyes bloodshot with anger.
Lauren's voice was hoarse and furious. "Say it again, say it again that you want to save the child! I dare you to say another word. I will kill you. I will kill you, you wicked and cruel old woman! Zachary went to see that woman abroad, why should Victoria risk her life to give birth to his child? The Sackler family has lost all conscience!"
Mrs. Sackler couldn't breathe, her face turning red and purple. She waved her hand for someone to drag Lauren away, but Lauren paid no attention.
Even if she died on the spot, she wouldn't let the Sackler family harm Victoria again. She didn't care about their reputation or future generations.
She only wanted Victoria to live. "Who dares to come closer, I will strangle her! I will make headlines about the Sackler Corporation! I will ruin Zachary's reputation! Aren't you all concerned about your image? Why isn't anyone stepping forward? Why aren't you coming up? Do you even see Victoria as a human being?"
In the distance, Vincent stood there and watched Lauren silently. He observed her madness and her desperate protection of Victoria, and he was in a daze.
After a while, he walked up to her. He gently removed Lauren from Mrs. Sackler and embraced her tightly, preventing her from moving. Lauren caught a whiff of tobacco from him. She was stunned. It was Vincent!
Without turning around, she softly spoke to the person behind her, "You have to save Victoria's life. She can't die, she can't die! Vincent, I'm begging you! Vincent, I'm begging you with our child! Please?"
Vincent held her tightly. He looked at Mrs. Sackler and said in a hoarse voice, "Save Victoria! Otherwise, one day Zachary will go mad, and you will regret it!"
Mrs. Sackler was stunned.
Just then, Whitney ran over from the corridor, disheveled and stumbled. She had just lost her husband. The delivery room was brightly lit. Victoria lay on the white sheets, her hair in disarray on the pillow, sweating profusely, her lips bitten until they bled.
Lauren changed into surgical scrubs and went in to accompany her. She held Victoria's hand tightly. "Victoria, hang in there! Both you and the baby have a chance to make it!" Victoria was in so much pain that she was almost unconscious.
But she knew that Lauren had suffered to come in, and she quietly watched her, tears rolling down her cheeks. Lauren wiped them away and said with a choked voice, "The baby is in a breech position. The doctor is trying to turn it around. Victoria, save your strength. We will deliver the baby soon, okay? Whitney is also here, and she is waiting for you and the baby to be born!"
Victoria's slender throat tightened, and she suddenly cried out in pain, "Dad!" Lauren also started crying, but she kept holding Victoria's hand, giving her comfort and strength.
Finally, in the midst of Victoria's heart-wrenching wails, the baby successfully turned around.
The doctor said the baby had a good chance. In a whisper, the doctor encouraged her, "Victoria, the baby is fighting hard to come into this world! Push with all your might."
It was often said that women faced life-threatening situations during childbirth.
Victoria was clearly in the most dangerous moment. She was in so much pain that she felt detached, as if her body no longer belonged to her. At the peak of her agony, her body stiffened and something was pushed out of her. Emily came out of her belly! The tiny baby cried weakly.
Her small body was purple and blue, her tiny feet kicking, her little head gazing blankly at the world. Victoria held her baby, but she had no strength left. She collapsed back onto the delivery bed and drenched in sweat.
At that moment, she seemed to smell the fragrance of the garden at home, and she seemed to hear her father's voice saying, "Dad is back, is Victoria happy?"
At that moment, she also seemed to hear the words she had spoken to Zachary.
She said, "Zachary, it may take me a long time to find my feelings for you again. Do you still want me?"
Zachary softly said, "Yes."
