When all the drama was over, I walked to my office with a huge smile, “It’s finally over. They are finally out of our lives, thank God.” I said as I walked into my office. I went straight to my desk to check on the things that needed to still be done for the Gala and there was a big note in Kayla’s hand writing that everything for the Gala is under control she’s only waiting for a few RSVP’s there was also a note that I shouldn’t forget to get a dress. “Oh, shit I totally forgot about a dress.” I said out load. I got on some websites and looked for a dress that I would like, I mean I don’t have the time to go to every store and fit them, that’s when I heard a scream from my bathroom. I ran inside the bathroom finding Kayla on the floor holding her stomach in so much pain. “Is the baby coming?” I asked her. “It’s to soon, Nicol it’s to soon. Something is wrong.” Kayla said. “Let me look.” I let her lay down as Jason came storming into the bathroom, “What’s going on?” He asked. “Jason sit at Kayla’s head and hold her hand.” “Is it the baby?” He asked so concerned. When I looked between her legs, she was bleeding and dilated, not far enough I’m sure we will be able to make it to the hospital.
“Call Herman and tell him we have to take Kayla to the hospital.” He rubbed her forehead and said “Everything will be okay, I’ll be with you the whole way.” It was like there was relieve on her face, like she believed every word he was saying. He ran off and called Herman, then I heard Nicolas come into my office “What’s going on in here?” He asked. “Kayla is in labor.” I said as I walked towards him, “Jason will have to go with, there is something wrong Nicolas.” I said softly to him. “Off course, you want me to go with?” “No, you stay.” Jason came running back into the room. “Will it be okay if I carry her?” Jason asked “Yes just be careful.” He went to the bathroom I followed to get a towel to cover the blood. Jason picked her up and she grabbed him around the neck. She was crying, I’m not sure if it was because of the pain or if she was scared. Jason whispered to her “Everything is going to be okay love don’t worry I’m right here.” Nicolas gave us space and we walked to the lift where Herman was also waiting for us, everyone was very concerned and kept on asking questions it was Nicolas that got their attention and told them there was nothing to worry about Kayla was in labor. There was one guy that got up and said “But it’s too early.” Clearly Kayla had more than one admirer in the office.
We got Kayla in the SUV I was sitting in front with Herman and Jason was holding Kayla on his lap, I’m not sure if he was comfortable but he didn’t mind at all he even insisted he wasn’t going to leave her. When we got to the hospital I got out and ran into the ER screaming for a gurney, JP and Elizabeth must have heard me because they came running out of the clinic. “What’s going on JP asked running with the gurney next to me. “It’s Kayla she’s in early labor and she’s bleeding.” “Oh shit, Elizabeth, get the OBGYN on standby.” JP said to her. We weren’t even in the hospital yet when the doctor was there with us, “I heard we have a delivery and there is bleeding?” “Yes, doc and it’s painful.” I told him. He looked at Jason “Are you the father?” Kayla grabbed his arm and said “Yes” Which was a shock to Jason but clearly, she wanted him by her side. “Kayla I’m going to be your doctor; I don’t want to alarm you but its looks like I’m going to have to do a C-section.” “Is it really necessary?” She looked at me. “Kayla if it was me, I would have let the doctor do whatever he thinks it’s the best.” “Okay then.” The doctor examines her took her blood pressure and immediately said “C-Section, you go get the dad dressed.” He pointed at me. “I don’t want to leave her side.” I told the doctor “Not until Jason is with her.” “It’s okay Nicol I’ll go with Jason.” JP took Jason to get ready and I stood with Kayla. “I’m scared Nicol.” “I know Kayla but you are in good hands I promise.” Jason was back in no time and they all ran into the surgical unit. I grabbed the first seat and sat with my head in my hair “Please please Please God let the baby and Kayla be okay.” I prayed. I felt a hand on my leg, I knew it wasn’t JP’s this hand was big and warm, when I looked up, I looked in the face of my love my only love. “I told you to stay.” I said because I knew he had a lot of work to do. “And leave you in this state? Not a chance.” I leaned with my head on his shoulder, “I wish everything can just go as it should, no drama’s just a normal life.” He whispered in my ear, “Don’t you think that would be boring?” That made me smile. “Glad I could make you smile.” “Me to.” “Is Jason in with her?” “Yes, she grabbed onto him when the doctor asked if he was the dad.” “Oh wow.” “I’m just glad she has someone with her.” “Yes, me to.” Geoffery came with some coffee for Nicolas and tea for me, it was over an hour and no one has come out to say anything, “this is not supposed to take this long.” I said to Nicolas. I started to pace up and down the hallway, Nicolas tried to make me relax reminding me I also have someone to worry about but I just couldn’t all my attention was what was going on behind those closed doors and if they are still alive?
