Chapter 94 Intense Malice
Elizabeth said casually, "You came all the way here just for this? If it's a secret, then don't bother telling me."
Let it stay a secret.
Natalia's lips almost curled into a sneer.
Elizabeth never does things the usual way.
Natalia dropped her sisterly facade and glared at Elizabeth. "Fine, if you don't wanna know, just don't regret it later. No decent guy will marry you once they find out what happened when you were ten."
Elizabeth smiled, "So what?"
Natalia fell silent.
Natalia was furious. How could Elizabeth not be affected by that photo at all?
Every time Natalia thought about how she had to cozy up to Ian, who was thirty years older than her, her anger towards Elizabeth flared up again.
If Elizabeth would just hand over a portion of her money, the Howard family wouldn't be in ruins.
And Natalia wouldn't have to suck up to Ian!
Looking at Elizabeth's smile, Natalia felt like she was punching air.
So light and effortless.
Natalia sneered, "Just don't regret it."
She turned and stormed out of the restaurant.
After Natalia left, Elizabeth's previously indifferent expression turned thoughtful.
She was actually very curious about the secret Natalia mentioned.
What could it be?
Meanwhile, in the dressing room of "My Voice."
Della explained the situation online to Sherry and then said, "The show's decided not to let Jessa participate in the recording for now."
Sherry's lips curled up, then she frowned, "Weird, why hasn't Quin Agency come forward to clear things up? Usually, they'd be all over it."
Della replied, "Maybe they can't prove anything, or Yvonne doesn't want to show up?"
Sherry had someone impersonate Yvonne, aiming to force the real Yvonne to appear.
"If she doesn't show up, it's fine. If she stays hidden, Quin Agency, which just started, might have to shut down. That would be a win for us."
As soon as she said that, a thought struck her.
"Call the HR department at Starlight Group and have them poach talent from Quin Agency."
Quin Agency had recently recruited eight artists and was in the process of training them. If Starlight Group could lure them away now, Quin Agency would be toast.
Della nodded, though she wasn't sure if those eight would want to switch.
Sherry said calmly, "Starlight Group has better resources. Offer them A-grade contracts, and they'll definitely want to come."
"Got it." Della immediately called Starlight Group's HR department.
The higher-ups at Starlight Group knew Sherry was Armando's woman and his future wife, so they naturally respected her wishes.
Besides, they also had a grudge against Quin Agency.
Starlight Group sent two representatives to negotiate with the artists at Quin Agency.
Two recent graduates from the performing arts department decided to terminate their contracts with Quin Agency and join Starlight Group.
"Are you sure you want to leave Quin Agency for Starlight Group?" the Quin Agency manager confirmed.
He thought these two were dreaming, believing they could become famous at Starlight Group, where most newcomers struggled.
"We've decided to go to Starlight Group. At Quin Agency, only Jessa has any popularity."
They didn't trust Quin Agency to provide them with good resources.
The Quin Agency manager smiled and terminated their contracts.
Lyle called Elizabeth and informed her about Starlight Group poaching talent.
Elizabeth chuckled wickedly, "Just recruit more. The timing is perfect. If no one else decides to switch, we can hold a press conference to clarify things."
Lyle's stern expression relaxed a bit, "So you were using this incident to test their loyalty and weed out the unreliable ones."
Elizabeth's red lips curved, "Just a bonus, isn't it?"
---
At Johnson Group.
Tom noticed a photo of Elizabeth on Armando's desk and frowned, "Armando, you're already planning to get engaged to Sherry."
He wasn't speaking as a secretary this time.
Armando looked up, a hint of displeasure in his eyes, "It's just an engagement."
He was only getting engaged to mislead Timothy and Elizabeth.
Armando's eyes were dark and brooding.
He couldn't tell Tom that Sherry had deceived him.
Tom didn't know what to say for a moment.
Armando's voice was slightly deep, "Mr. Davis, this is my personal matter."
He lowered his eyes and continued working.
Tom was stunned.
"You've already given up on Elizabeth. Based on what I know about her, she won't come back." Tom said steadily.
Armando's lips pressed into a thin line. He had to try.
Tom always knew Armando was ruthless. He didn't understand Armando's plan.
He just hoped Elizabeth wouldn't get hurt this time.
---
Elizabeth returned to Faith Residence and started organizing evidence about Yvonne.
By the time she finished, it was already six o'clock.
Mabel had plans tonight and wouldn't be coming home.
Elizabeth rubbed her slightly overworked head, called Timothy, and walked out of the house.
She needed dinner.
Elizabeth, feeling her empty stomach, decided to save time by choosing a dumpling shop near Faith Residence.
The waiter brought the dumplings to the table.
Elizabeth ended her call with Timothy without hesitation.
She had just eaten two dumplings when Armando showed up, ruining her appetite.
"This is the invitation to my engagement party with Sherry," Armando said, sitting opposite her and handing her an invitation.
Elizabeth took a big bite of a dumpling, chewed, and squinted at Armando.
"Not going."
She met his gaze.
"Whether you go or not is up to you," Armando said casually, "I'm here to ask you to tell Mr. Robinson to stop targeting my company."
Armando had a hunch someone was targeting Johnson Group.
The only person capable of this was Timothy.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, "Why should I tell Timothy that?"
Her slender fingers picked up the engagement invitation and slowly tore it in half.
She placed the two halves on the table and pushed them towards Armando.
"I really hate Sherry."
She didn't bother hiding her malice.
"You and Sherry are perfect for each other. Don't come near me."
Elizabeth picked up her bowl of dumplings and moved to another table.
Armando's eyes darkened as he watched Elizabeth, then he left the dumpling shop.
He had just wanted an excuse to see her.
Even hatred was better than nothing.
Armando got into his car, loosened his tie, lit a cigarette, and thought about Elizabeth's palpable malice.
Sherry called, but he ignored it.
