Chapter 420: Main Text Conclusion [Four]
In the afternoon, because of Elizabeth's firm attitude, the whole family returned to Border Ridge City from Majestic City.
Mabel also came back to Border Ridge City. She planned to stay there for a while before going back.
That evening.
When Elizabeth saw Timothy about to take Brandon for a bath, she frowned and lowered her voice, "I'll watch Brandon bathe. You should rest."
Timothy looked down at her without saying anything, but a trace of loneliness flashed through his affectionate eyes.
Elizabeth pressed her red lips together. She felt bad seeing him like this. "Okay, you take Brandon to bathe."
Timothy raised his eyebrows. He knew Elizabeth liked it when he acted this way.
She liked it when he showed vulnerability.
"Brandon, come on, let's go take a bath."
"Okay, Dad."
Brandon put down his toys and went to hold Timothy's hand.
Instead, Timothy squatted down, picked up Brandon, and let him sit on his shoulders.
Elizabeth's eyebrows twitched. She pressed her lips together. Whatever, let them be happy.
Brandon kept laughing as he held Timothy's head, suddenly so much taller.
"Dad, I want to grow this tall!"
"Good, that's great."
Brandon lifted his chin. Yes, he was that great.
Elizabeth couldn't bear to watch Brandon's proud expression.
In the bathroom.
The large bathtub was filled with water.
Brandon and Timothy soaked in the water.
Brandon stood on Timothy's thighs, holding a towel to wash Timothy's face.
Brandon didn't have much strength and hadn't wrung out the towel properly, just pressing it directly onto Timothy's face to wipe.
Timothy wiped the water from his face. He couldn't handle Brandon's filial piety.
Timothy reached for a swimming ring. "Brandon, go swim by yourself."
"Okay." Brandon put down the towel, lay on the swimming ring, and kicked his legs randomly in the water.
Elizabeth was worried, afraid Timothy might pass out in there, so she came to the bathroom door every five minutes to call out.
"Mr. Robinson."
"Here."
Elizabeth felt relieved and went to sit on the sofa to wait.
Brandon and Timothy soaked for about ten minutes before getting out.
Both of them dried their bodies with towels in the same way.
Brandon sang a terrible song while drying himself.
Timothy immediately stopped drying his hair with the towel.
He looked at Brandon with mixed feelings as the boy sang and wiggled around naked.
Timothy grabbed a small bathrobe and put it on Brandon to stop him from singing.
"Dad, my head feels prickly."
Brandon touched the short hair growing on his head. It didn't feel good.
"I'll take you to shave it tomorrow."
"Okay."
They walked out of the bathroom and saw Elizabeth waiting on the sofa.
Timothy sighed inwardly. He could see Elizabeth's anxiety and worry.
He smiled, "Brandon, go change into your pajamas by yourself and go to sleep. I need to keep your mom company."
Brandon nodded. He went to open the drawer to choose pajamas and also picked out underwear.
Timothy sat down next to Elizabeth and put his arm around her. The couple watched Brandon manage on his own.
"A guest will come to the house tomorrow," Timothy said.
"Okay." Elizabeth didn't ask who it was. She'd find out tomorrow anyway.
---
In Border Ridge City at night, neon lights flickered.
It was a lively time.
Jane was in a good mood because she had ruined Seraphina's wedding, so she accepted an invitation from people in her circle to attend a party.
These people had very full social calendars every day.
It wasn't until two in the morning that Jane reluctantly left the party and got into her car.
She leaned back in her seat and unknowingly fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up again.
Jane found herself lying in an unfamiliar room.
The room was empty all around. There was nothing except her.
Her heart sank heavily. She immediately realized something was wrong. She seemed to have been kidnapped!
Jane's face instantly turned ugly, and fear crept over her.
She rushed to the door in panic and pounded on it hard. "Someone! Open the door! Open the door now!"
However, after shouting for a long time, only silence answered her calls. No one responded.
Fear gradually spread in her heart.
Jane was very scared and anxious. Who had kidnapped her?
At this moment, she could only silently pray that Tommy and Sloane would quickly discover she was missing.
---
When Timothy got up in the morning, he saw a message from Joe.
He deleted the message.
Timothy had breakfast with Brandon.
He saw Seraphina off to the company, then took Brandon to kindergarten.
Just like any other day.
When Timothy returned from kindergarten, he saw Mabel and Elizabeth folding paper cranes.
"Why are they folding so many paper cranes?" Timothy sat on the sofa, poured himself water, and asked Alfonso.
Alfonso shook his head. "I don't know."
At noon, a guest was coming to the house, so Alfonso and Mabel left first.
Alfonso saw Mabel's worried expression and silently held her hand to comfort her.
Timothy's face looked very bad. Anyone could see his physical condition wasn't good.
But everyone kept quiet about it.
Not long after Alfonso and the others left, a bodyguard wheeled an elderly woman into the living room.
This old woman was Cecilia, who was already eighty years old.
She sat quietly in her wheelchair, her hair already white.
"Timothy, what's the meaning of this?" Cecilia frowned angrily. She had been staying peacefully in Sylvanor when Timothy's people brought her back to the country last night.
Timothy glanced at her indifferently. "Cecilia, long time no see. I specially invited you back to see Border Ridge City. Over these years, you've raised Tommy and Jane. That was really thoughtful of you."
When Cecilia heard Timothy mention Tommy and Jane, she was immediately on alert. She didn't know what Timothy was up to. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
Timothy picked up the remote and turned on the TV.
"Today, the Robinson Group is urgently holding a shareholders' meeting." As Timothy's words fell, an uneasy feeling swept through Cecilia's heart.
She looked at the TV. The screen showed surveillance footage of a conference room.
At that moment, the Robinson Group's conference room was filled with the company's important shareholders.
Sloane looked at the shareholders who had all gathered today with a cool gaze. "Gentlemen, why was this shareholders' meeting suddenly called?"
"Of course, it's to re-elect the chairman of the Robinson Group," one of the shareholders said calmly.
Sloane looked at the shareholder who spoke. He was from the Robinson family, Theron Robinson.
On the other side, Cecilia heard this and looked at Timothy with confusion in her eyes.
Actually, Cecilia wasn't worried at all about Sloane being removed from the chairman position.
Because Tommy and Jane together held fifty percent of the shares. Unless all the shareholders voted to remove Sloane, the chairman position would always be hers.
Timothy smiled calmly. "Back then, Mr. Robinson really loved Tommy and Jane. As his son, I got nothing."
Cecilia sighed helplessly. "Yes, Mr. Robinson was too angry at that time."
She looked at Elizabeth. "If it weren't for Ms. Penrose, Mr. Robinson wouldn't have been so angry."
Elizabeth smiled faintly.
Timothy's gaze turned to the TV screen. His tone was flat. "Cecilia, you've probably forgotten that I once served as general manager at the Robinson Group."
Cecilia frowned, not quite understanding what Timothy meant. She was old, and her mind wasn't always sharp.
At that moment, in the meeting.
Sloane said coolly, "Since all the shareholders want to re-elect, we can start now."
As long as one shareholder abstained or sided with her, she could remain chairman without any problem.
However, who started this whole thing today?
Sloane put this question aside for now, planning to investigate after the shareholders' meeting ended.
She wasn't worried at all about being removed.
So when all the shareholders voted to elect Theron as chairman, Sloane froze.
"Impossible!" Sloane's voice trembled slightly. Her gaze swept around the conference room at all the shareholders, finally stopping on Dean. "Why did you also choose Theron?"
She had thought Dean was a firm ally on her side.
However, Dean just smiled faintly. "Girl, you're still too young."
His words hit Sloane's heart like a heavy hammer.
She couldn't accept this result at all. Behind this seemingly simple vote, there was obviously something she hadn't noticed. Various possibilities flashed through her mind.
Theron stood up and was the first to leave the conference room.
The other shareholders also stood up and left the conference room one after another.
This shareholders' meeting ended in less than ten minutes.
Sloane bit her lip hard, the calmness in her eyes replaced by anger.
She suddenly stood up and slammed her hands on the table with a loud bang. "Dean, can you tell me why?"
She had done so well. Why was this the result?
Dean stopped and looked back at her with a trace of pity in his eyes. "Mr. Robinson doesn't want you to continue as chairman."
Dean's words were measured but pierced Sloane's heart like needles.
Sloane was stunned. She couldn't believe that the mastermind behind all this was actually Timothy.
Didn't he have no shares in the Robinson Group? Why could he still make these shareholders obey?
It was like an adult hitting a child—the adult's strength was always greater than the child's. Whether to hit the child depended entirely on the adult's intentions.
At the same time, Cecilia's face became extremely ugly when she saw this scene. The corners of her mouth trembled slightly.
Cecilia had spent more than ten years cultivating Sloane, expecting her to control the Robinson Group.
But now, Timothy had easily reversed everything.
Cecilia turned to look at Timothy, controlling the hatred in her heart. "What exactly do you mean by this?"
