Chapter 358 Reached Out to Support Her Again
The atmosphere at the dining table was a bit delicate at this moment.
Dean was short and looked easy to bully, but that was only on the surface.
He smiled and stood up to pour wine for himself and Sloane.
This was high-proof alcohol.
Just a few glasses would knock out anyone who couldn't hold their liquor.
Dean spoke earnestly, "Chairwoman Johnson, let me toast you three times first. I was blind before, couldn't judge people properly, and actually arranged for a bastard like Asher to enter the company. That was my fault."
Dean raised his glass and downed three glasses of wine in succession.
Sloane also stood up. She picked up her glass, her face showing a faint smile, "Mr. Graham, you can't predict the future. You didn't expect Asher to be such a confused person. I toast to you."
She took a small sip of the wine. The sharp liquor slid down her throat, making her frown slightly.
She actually wasn't much of a drinker and couldn't hold her liquor well.
Dean nodded with satisfaction, poured himself another glass, and then poured one for Sloane, "Chairwoman Johnson is indeed straightforward and decisive. The company will definitely thrive in the future."
Sloane only planned to touch this glass to her lips, not actually drink it.
Seeing that Sloane didn't drink, Dean smiled and asked casually, "Does Chairwoman Johnson still have a problem with me?"
Sloane maintained her faint smile, "I'm not feeling well these past few days. I'll toast Mr. Graham with tea instead of wine."
She reached for the tea Stefan handed her, raised the cup to Dean, and drank it all in one go.
Dean's eyes flickered. Everyone knew perfectly well that "not feeling well" was just an excuse.
But he wouldn't let Sloane have her way, "Two or three more glasses of wine should be fine, right? Or does Chairwoman Johnson have a big problem with me?"
Dean's words were completely unreasonable.
The smile on Sloane's face stiffened slightly, and she felt a bit annoyed.
Dean was such an unreasonable old guy!
Seeing this, Stefan immediately stepped forward, his tone calm, "Mr. Graham, Chairwoman Johnson really hasn't been feeling well these past few days. As her special assistant, I'll toast you a few glasses on her behalf."
Dean narrowed his eyes, his gaze moving between Stefan and Sloane, and smiled, "Mr. Hensley is really dedicated. Alright then, you drink a few glasses for Chairwoman Johnson."
Stefan drank several glasses without changing his expression. Thinking of Seraphina who was also at a dinner party in the restaurant, he felt a bit worried. He wondered if Seraphina also had to drink.
At this moment, there were no wine bottles on the dining table in the next private room, only beverages.
Demetrius didn't drink alcohol.
And Robbie and the others didn't plan to let Seraphina touch alcohol either.
Timothy had specifically instructed them not to let Seraphina drink.
Given Seraphina Enterprises' current status and the ElizaTimo Group's position, when Seraphina takes over managing the company in the future, no one would dare force her to drink at business dinners.
Seraphina listened carefully to the conversation between Robbie and Demetrius.
Their conversation was all about business.
She made mental notes of what they discussed, planning to ask Elizabeth about anything she didn't understand when she got home.
Jacob saw that Seraphina was listening very attentively. He took the serving utensils and added food to her plate, lowering his voice, "Eat while you listen, don't go hungry."
Seraphina smiled and nodded, "Thank you."
Gavin glanced at Jacob and Seraphina, feeling a bit curious.
Robbie's special assistant Jacob was personally serving food to the newly hired Seraphina?
It seemed they might be acquaintances, Gavin guessed.
The atmosphere at Seraphina's table was harmonious.
But in the next private room with Sloane, things were tense.
Dean had also brought an assistant who could drink. He stopped drinking himself and had his assistant drink instead, while he kept pouring wine for Stefan.
"Chairwoman Johnson, Mr. Hensley really can hold his liquor. Let them drink, and we'll guess who can drink more," Dean smiled, a hint of cunning flashing in his eyes.
Sloane smiled faintly, "Let's call it a night, Mr. Graham. We'll be leaving now. Thank you for your hospitality."
Hearing this, Dean's face turned cold, and his tone became cold too, "Chairwoman Johnson, leaving already? Stay a bit longer."
Sloane stood up. She dared to come to this dinner party today to send a signal to these old shareholders that she wasn't afraid of them.
She wasn't that easy to bully.
Just as Sloane and Stefan were about to leave the private room.
Dean suddenly smiled, "Chairwoman Johnson, let's cooperate. What do you think?"
Sloane smiled faintly. She turned to look at Dean, thought for a few seconds, "Alright."
Dean made a gesture inviting her to sit.
Sloane sat back down.
Stefan and Dean's assistant left the private room first. Sometimes they couldn't listen to the bosses' conversations.
Stefan had drunk so many glasses of high-proof alcohol that his face showed the flush of drinking, but his mind was still clear.
He walked to the restroom and simply washed his face to make himself more alert.
When Seraphina went to the restroom, she saw Stefan sitting in a chair with his eyes closed, resting.
She walked over quietly, planning to scare him, but Stefan suddenly opened his eyes.
"Trying to scare me?" Stefan's voice was slightly hoarse and lazy from drinking.
His features were gentle and handsome.
Seraphina looked at him several times. His voice was really attractive at times like this, and his face looked pretty good too.
Honestly, she didn't know why he was dating her.
Stefan stood up. He bent down slightly, leaning close to Seraphina, first checking if she had been drinking, "You didn't drink?"
He didn't smell any alcohol on her.
Seraphina shook her head, "No one ordered alcohol tonight," she smelled the alcohol on him, "How much did you drink? You really stink."
"Do I stink? What should I do, my head is a bit dizzy." Stefan rubbed his temples, looking very uncomfortable.
"Are you very uncomfortable?" Seeing Stefan looking uncomfortable, Seraphina looked at him with concern, "Can you leave now? Let me take you home first."
Stefan squinted his eyes, enjoying Seraphina's concern. He wanted to leave now, but Sloane was still in the private room, "Can't leave yet."
Seraphina nodded, "Then I'll go to the restroom first."
When she came out of the restroom, Stefan was no longer in the chair. She took out her phone to check messages - he had returned to the private room.
At seven o'clock, Sloane said goodbye to Dean and left. She had also drunk several glasses of wine.
With her poor tolerance for alcohol, her head was actually already a bit dizzy.
However, she didn't show any signs of discomfort in front of Dean.
Stefan saw that Sloane was already walking a bit unsteadily and noticed her discomfort.
However, because of the last jealousy incident with Seraphina, he didn't go to support Sloane this time.
The elevator door opened.
After Sloane walked into the elevator, she couldn't help but cover her mouth and dry heave.
The aftereffects of the high-proof alcohol were kicking in.
When the elevator reached the first floor, Stefan frowned and quickly helped Sloane out of the elevator.
Fate was so wonderful.
As he helped Sloane out the door, he happened to see Seraphina standing not far away, looking at him with a smile.
Stefan quickly let go. Sloane was really drunk and stumbled, about to fall.
His gentlemanly manner wouldn't allow him to watch Sloane fall in public.
He could only reach out to support her again.
Not far away, Seraphina smiled, then bent down to get into the car, closed the door, and told the driver to drive.
