Chapter 355 He Wants to Think of You
If Stefan can still stand and help someone up, that proves he's fine.
So who's going to tell her whether she should be an understanding girlfriend or a feisty girlfriend in this situation?
The person Stefan was helping up happened to be his boss Sloane, and the person Stefan had heroically rescued before was also Sloane.
Rationally speaking, his behavior wasn't wrong.
But irrationally speaking, if Seraphina got upset about these things, it would make her look petty and unreasonable.
Seraphina's mind raced through everything. She grabbed an ice-cold drink from the fridge and gulped it down painfully.
So refreshing. This must be the drink Elizabeth secretly stashed in the fridge - Timothy would never let Elizabeth drink this kind of stuff.
After drinking the cold beverage, Seraphina pushed down that little bit of jealousy, then took out her phone to call Timothy.
Seraphina wasn't a relationship expert.
Timothy probably had some experience and insights to teach her.
Timothy had just gotten home after dropping Brandon off at school when he received Seraphina's call. Thinking something was wrong, he quickly answered, "Seraphina, what's up?"
Seraphina politely asked first, "Dad, do you have a moment? I want to ask you something."
"I'm free." Hearing it was just a question, Timothy relaxed.
"Dad, Mr. Ellis used to be Mom's assistant. If Mr. Ellis heroically rescued someone or held Mom's arm, would you get jealous or angry? Wait, that doesn't sound right. I should probably ask Mr. Ellis's girlfriend this question, but Mr. Ellis is still single." Seraphina asked, struggling with the question.
Timothy raised an eyebrow and first glanced at the living room - Elizabeth wasn't there.
He sat down on the sofa, lazily stretching out his long legs, happy to answer Seraphina's question. "Seraphina, if Robbie saved your mom or held her arm for a good reason, I'd be glad he helped out. But if it were Robbie's family, they definitely wouldn't be happy. We all understand this."
Seraphina nodded. Yes, exactly.
Timothy smiled and started his spiel. "Your mom loves me very much! Your mom only has eyes for me, she would never change her mind and fall for another man."
Seraphina blinked, confused.
What did that mean?
"Your mom won't change her mind, as long as I stay faithful." Timothy said proudly.
Seraphina totally agreed.
Timothy suddenly asked, "Are your feelings for Stefan deep?"
This question stumped Seraphina. "Dad, how would I know if they're deep? I mean, if I left him, I'd be sad, but I wouldn't be devastated. His thoughts are probably the same as mine."
Being madly in love wasn't possible.
Seraphina and Timothy instantly fell silent.
Seraphina was very clear-headed.
Timothy wanted to laugh but held it in. He felt relieved and cleared his throat lightly, continuing to teach Seraphina from experience. "Because your mom loves me so much, I don't worry about her being seduced by someone else and changing her mind. But if I see another man getting close to your mom, I'd still get jealous."
"I'm a man, and men can't just throw tantrums when they're jealous. But you're a woman, and women can totally get upset, as long as you know where to draw the line."
Timothy was telling Seraphina to throw a tantrum!
Elizabeth leaned against the balcony railing, hearing Timothy emphasize several times that 'she loves him very much.' She found it both funny and helpless.
When Elizabeth heard him teaching Seraphina to lose her temper, amusement flashed in her eyes.
Sometimes when women are too gentle and too considerate, it's not good - men easily take it for granted and get used to it.
Timothy poured some water to wet his throat. "Whether it's a man or a woman, those with weak willpower are easily tempted by outside influences. If Stefan is that kind of person with weak willpower, even if you break up later, don't be sad. Your mom used to define this kind of person as trash."
Just like Armando - wasn't he defined as trash by Elizabeth?
After praising Elizabeth, Timothy continued with a smile, "Seraphina, I've told you so much, but you really just need to remember one thing."
Seraphina immediately sat up straight. "Dad, please go ahead."
Timothy said calmly, "If you want to be angry, be angry. If you want to lose your temper, lose your temper. There's no need to suppress your emotions to keep a man around. If you really don't like it, make him change jobs. He should be the one considering your feelings, not you considering his."
Seraphina touched her chin, seriously thinking about Timothy's words.
Right, why should she consider Stefan's feelings?
She didn't like Stefan having too much contact with Sloane! Why should she still be generous and act like this was his job and she needed to be understanding?
Timothy was right!
Stefan should be the one considering her feelings, not her considering his!
Seraphina nodded. "Dad, I understand what you mean! I know what to do now. Dad, I'll hang up now."
Timothy looked at the disconnected call, feeling inexplicably worried. Did Seraphina really know what to do?
Elizabeth heard Timothy and Seraphina hang up, and only then did she walk into the living room from the balcony.
Seeing Elizabeth, Timothy patted his leg. "Sit here. Elizabeth, did you hear what I just said to Seraphina?"
"Yes, you said it pretty well." Elizabeth rewarded Timothy.
Now that neither Seraphina nor Brandon were home, it was fine for Elizabeth and Timothy to be all lovey-dovey in broad daylight.
On the other side, Seraphina's car pulled up to the Seraphina Enterprises building.
She got out of the car while dialing Stefan's number.
The call connected quickly, and Stefan's gentle voice came through. "Dione, you haven't talked to me in days!"
Seraphina said somewhat unhappily, "I just started my new job these past few days, I've been so busy. I've gotten so thin from being busy, I'm basically a stick figure now."
Stefan said, "Dione, is the work pressure too much?"
She was starting to overthink things. With her body type, there was no way she'd become a stick figure in just a few days.
Seraphina snorted coldly. She strode into the company, lowering her voice. "Yes, so much pressure that I've become thin and beautiful, with a slender waist that needs you to hold my arm!"
At that moment, Demetrius happened to be walking behind Seraphina. He heard what she said on the phone, but his expression remained coldly unchanged.
His assistant Gavin beside him couldn't suppress his emotions though - a hint of laughter escaped his lips.
Become a beauty? Couldn't tell.
Slender waist? Couldn't tell.
Demetrius turned his head to look at Gavin, his cold gaze carrying a warning.
Gavin instantly wiped the smile off his face. Demetrius was too strict, strict to the point of being rigid.
On the other end of the phone, Stefan had been about to go to the bathroom, but hearing Seraphina's odd statement, he stopped. "Dione, where are you right now? I'll come find you."
"You want to come over now?" Seraphina pressed the elevator button and asked, "What about work?"
"Yes, I'll come right now." Stefan felt something was off.
Hearing this, Seraphina instantly returned to her normal tone. "You don't need to come. Just focus on work. I was just doing some improv acting, playing a beautiful woman who needs someone to hold her arm."
Stefan wasn't stupid. He pieced things together and realized that Seraphina worked at Seraphina Enterprises, and the main road to Seraphina Enterprises passed by the Robinson Group.
Stefan narrowed his eyes, instantly figuring it out. "Dione, you saw me holding Chairwoman Johnson's arm, didn't you?"
Seraphina immediately went silent on the other end. Stefan knew he'd guessed right.
So that's what this was all about.
Stefan wasn't in a rush to find her anymore. He chuckled and also lowered his voice. "I'll explain tonight. I promise I had no inappropriate thoughts."
Seraphina said somewhat embarrassedly in a low voice, "You can explain if you want, but I want you to quit your current job. I don't like you having so much contact with her. Stefan, is that too much to ask?"
After saying this with false pretense, Seraphina narrowed her eyes and smiled.
Stefan was momentarily speechless on the other end. His reaction right now was that his brain couldn't keep up.
How did the topic escalate to quitting his job?
The elevator arrived. Seraphina walked in, turned around, and suddenly saw that Demetrius and Gavin had also walked in.
Seraphina was puzzled.
Did these two big men walk without making any sound?
But this was the office, so Seraphina didn't plan to continue this deep conversation with Stefan.
She said to Stefan on the phone, "Let's talk tonight when we meet."
She hung up.
Stefan looked at the disconnected call, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Just as Stefan was still pondering what Seraphina had said, his assistant hurried over. "Mr. Hensley, there you are. Chairwoman Johnson is looking for you."
"Okay, give me a second." Stefan put away his phone.
