Chapter 324 No Wife, Then Marry Her
Luca's wife Juno brought two cups of plain water for the guests.
"Thank you." Nolan and Ryder took the water and said politely.
"Where are you two from?" Luca asked.
"We're both from Harmony City. We've earned some money working and now we're planning to do contract farming," Nolan said with a smile.
"So what are you planning to grow?" Luca asked.
"We want to grow fruit, and also do some breeding. We have sales channels, so we're not worried about selling," Nolan said.
Luca nodded. "The mountain land in our village is good for growing fruit, but the roads aren't great for transportation."
Nolan smiled. "We're not worried about transportation. We'll use a tractor to get to the main road, then load everything onto a truck."
Since Nolan said he wasn't worried about transportation, Luca didn't push the matter. "How much land are you two looking to contract?"
"We're planning to stay in the village for a couple of days first, check out the mountain land, then decide. Do you know where we could stay? We'll pay for meals," Nolan asked.
Luca hesitated a bit. It was awkward to arrange lodging for strangers.
Seeing Luca's hesitation, Nolan said apologetically, "We know asking to stay is an inconvenience, but coming to the village takes so much time."
Luca thought for a moment, then finally nodded. "You can stay at my place then. But conditions in the village are pretty basic, so you'll have to make do."
Nolan said gratefully, "Thank you so much. Basic conditions are fine, we're not picky."
The two had dinner at Luca's house that evening. After the meal, they told Luca they wanted to walk around the village.
Since they'd just arrived today, they didn't plan to start asking around for people yet.
The two walked around casually, stopping here and there, made a loop, then returned to Luca's house.

Meanwhile, at Milan's house.
Some drinking buddies were coming over to drink with Milan tonight.
Zara temporarily let Seraphina out of the storage room to wash vegetables.
Seraphina was still young—she couldn't cook, but she could wash vegetables.
Mason came home from school and threw his backpack on the floor. He walked into the kitchen yelling loudly, "Mom, I'm starving."
Zara laughed and scolded, "Wait, it'll be ready soon. Go do your homework first."
"No way, let me eat first!" Mason didn't like studying. There was no elementary school in the village, so every day he and the other kids walked an hour to another village for school.
Zara didn't scold Mason. Instead, she yelled at Seraphina who was washing vegetables outside, "Echo, get a bowl and serve Mason some rice. You're so slow washing vegetables, so useless."
Hearing Zara's words, Seraphina, who was washing vegetables outside the kitchen, quietly put down the vegetables.
Seraphina walked into the kitchen, got a bowl, served Mason some rice, and carried it to the table in the main room.
Seraphina looked at the braised fish on the table and swallowed. Her little nose sniffed lightly. It smelled so good.
Mason walked into the main room, pushed Seraphina aside, sat down, picked up his bowl, and started eating.
The push made Seraphina stumble back a few steps.
She quickly left the main room and went back to wash vegetables.
Seraphina carried the basket of washed vegetables into the kitchen.
Zara was busy at the stove. She glanced at Seraphina. "Take these cooked dishes out."
Seraphina carefully picked up a plate and slowly walked to the main room. She walked very carefully, afraid of spilling the food and getting beaten and scolded by Zara.
Mason sat at the table eating big mouthfuls of rice.
Milan's friends had started arriving one by one, and the main room was getting lively.
As Seraphina was bringing out the last dish, the mentally disabled boy Will suddenly ran over, making noises.
Seraphina didn't notice him and almost got bumped into, but she managed to dodge Will just in time.
Good thing she wasn't hit, or the dish would have spilled.
Milan's friends had already started drinking heavily and eating. The whole main room was filled with the smell of alcohol.
One of the drinking buddies pointed at Seraphina and asked, "Is this the kid you picked up?"
Seraphina clutched the corners of her clothes tightly.
Her face was wrapped in gauze, only showing a pair of big eyes. She looked at these strangers with some fear.
That drinking buddy looked Seraphina up and down. Apart from her face wrapped in gauze, the skin showing on her arms was still fine.
Milan nodded and poured some wine. "Yeah, that's her. Her face is ruined, her family didn't want her, so we took pity on her and took her in."
Zara also came to the table to eat. She told Seraphina to go eat in the kitchen by herself.
Seraphina quickly left the main room. But then Will, who had almost bumped into her earlier, followed her out of the main room and into the kitchen.
Another drinking buddy, Will's father Soren, saw Will following Seraphina out of the main room and sighed. "I don't know what's going to happen with my son in the future."
They only had one son, Will, and he was mentally disabled. They didn't even know if he'd be able to get a wife.
After a few cups of wine, Milan said drunkenly, "What do you mean what's going to happen? Let Echo be your son's wife."
Milan was just joking, since Rolf would come to take Echo away when she turned eighteen.
Soren laughed. Although Will was mentally disabled, Soren didn't want him to marry someone with a ruined face.
But Soren still said, "Sure, if my son can't find a wife, he'll marry her."
