Chapter 311 I Will Go Find Her Tomorrow
Today, Herschel, the chairman of the Nightingale Group, and Juniper are getting married.
All the invited guests from Border Ridge City's social circle have arrived.
The banquet hall is filled with well-dressed guests, mingling and toasting.
Although Elizabeth didn't attend in person, she arranged for Robbie to deliver a gift.
Robbie, wearing a sharp suit and holding an elegant gift box, walked up to Herschel and Juniper. "Congratulations to you both. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together. Chairwoman Penrose really couldn't make time recently, so she specially asked me to bring this gift to express her sincere blessings."
Herschel wore a polite smile on his face. "Thank you, Elizabeth, and thank you, Robbie, for personally delivering the gift."
Just then, Freya and Maeve walked over.
Freya saw Robbie and looked around but didn't see Elizabeth.
The smile on Freya's face became noticeably stiff. "Robbie, where's Elizabeth?"
Robbie maintained his smile and responded politely, "Chairwoman Penrose has been really busy lately and couldn't make time to attend the wedding. Please understand, Mrs. Nightingale."
Hearing this, the smile on Freya's face became even more forced.
She held back her displeasure and nodded. "I understand. Robbie, thank you for coming in person."
Robbie nodded politely. "Everyone, I'll take my leave now."
After he left, the smile on Freya's face completely froze.
Maeve gently patted Freya's hand, as if to comfort her. There was a hint of helplessness in Maeve's eyes. "Freya, Herschel and Juniper are here. Let's go inside."
Taking advantage of the moment when no guests were around, Juniper quietly moved closer to Herschel. "Herschel, Freya must be upset. Elizabeth is really something. Freya already backed down, and Elizabeth still has to be so hurtful."
Although Herschel knew Freya was also at fault, he still felt Elizabeth was being too harsh.
He was also somewhat unhappy.
Apart from Elizabeth's absence affecting Freya a bit, the whole wedding went smoothly.
Robbie left the wedding venue and returned to the company. Just as he was about to knock on Elizabeth's office door, it opened from inside.
Robbie saw it was Timothy and quickly stepped aside. He accidentally noticed lipstick on Timothy's lips.
Robbie greeted him, "Mr. Robinson."
Timothy nodded and walked out of the office, carrying a food container as he left.
Since Elizabeth couldn't go home for dinner tonight, Timothy brought her dinner.
Robbie watched Timothy's retreating figure, then walked into the office.
Elizabeth was touching up her lipstick. Hearing the sound, she looked up. "Robbie, is everything arranged at the hospital?"
Robbie quickly lowered his eyes, not looking around. "It's all arranged. Ms. Palmer's grandfather will arrive in Border Ridge City this afternoon and can check into the hospital directly. Also, the wedding gift for Mr. Herschel Nightingale has been delivered. Mrs. Freya Nightingale looked somewhat unhappy."
Elizabeth nodded coolly, indicating she understood.
Seeing that Elizabeth had no other instructions, Robbie left the office and gently closed the door.
In the afternoon.
Sarah sent Elizabeth a thank-you message: [Ms. Penrose, thank you so much]
Elizabeth replied with "you're welcome" and continued handling work matters.
At that moment, Joe, who had accompanied Sarah and the others to General Hospital, saw that everything was arranged and said goodbye.
Sarah watched Joe's retreating figure before looking away.
Right now, the most important thing was Owen's brain surgery.
Delilah looked at Delilah's expression, then at Joe's departing figure, and roughly guessed what was on Delilah's mind.
However, Delilah didn't point out Sarah's feelings right now, as this wasn't the right time.
At the Maddox house, things were a bit lively tonight.
In the living room, Hugo's grandmother Wren was throwing a tantrum, her crying and wailing endless.
"Hugo is a good boy. When are you going to save him! My grandson."
Wren cried and shouted while pounding the floor, her face covered with tears and snot.
Willow frowned, standing to the side with a very unpleasant expression.
Wren's behavior like a shrew made Willow feel very embarrassed.
Willow helplessly glanced at her husband Maddox, feeling extremely irritated.
Maddox sat on the sofa with a gloomy expression.
Maddox said coldly, "Willow, go explain to your grandmother clearly that we've already done our best."
Maddox stood up, preparing to go upstairs.
Who knew Wren would react so quickly—she actually managed to get up from the floor and swiftly grabbed onto Maddox's leg.
"Maddox, you must save the Reed family's only boy." Wren clutched at Maddox's pants, tears streaming continuously.
The veins on Maddox's forehead bulged as he held back his anger, looking coldly at Willow.
Willow cursed inwardly and quickly went to help Wren up. "Grandma, please don't do this. We really have tried our best to find ways to save Hugo. Please get up first, and we'll discuss a plan."
Wren cried and scolded, "What plan have you come up with? Don't think I'm easy to fool just because I'm old!"
Willow had been worn out by Wren these past few days. Suddenly, she had a flash of inspiration and said, "Grandma, we're currently trying to get Elizabeth to drop the charges. As long as Elizabeth withdraws them, Hugo's sentence can be reduced."
"Who?"
Wren suddenly stopped wailing. She stood up, let go of Maddox's leg, grabbed Willow's arm, and asked urgently, "Who? Who is Elizabeth?"
Willow endured the pain of Wren's grip while saying, "Elizabeth is Chairwoman Penrose of Seraphina Enterprises. Hugo was arrested because of problems with the company's products. If we can convince her to drop the charges, there's hope for Hugo."
Wren's eyes lit up as she gripped Willow's hand tightly. "Then hurry up and go find her!"
Willow sighed helplessly. "Grandma, it's not that simple. Elizabeth won't easily agree to drop the charges. Our relationship with her wasn't good to begin with."
Wren frowned. "I'll go find her tomorrow."
Maddox and Willow exchanged glances. Neither of them had expected Wren to suggest such an idea.
Willow pretended to be worried. "Grandma, Elizabeth is a tough person. She won't drop the charges just because you ask."
Wren stubbornly shook her head. "I'll try. I'll kneel and beg her!"
Seeing Wren so insistent, Willow was secretly pleased, though she pretended to be concerned. "Grandma, if you kneel and beg her, that's too much of a sacrifice for you."
Wren said firmly, "To save Hugo, I don't mind. I'll go find her tomorrow."
Willow hesitated, but finally agreed to take Wren to Seraphina Enterprises tomorrow to find Elizabeth.
