Chapter 302 You Do Your Thing, I'll Feed You
Elizabeth woke up in the morning and had a little breakfast, but she put down her utensils without much appetite.
"Mr. Robinson, I'm heading to the office. I'll leave the duckling for you to feed today."
Timothy saw she'd only eaten a few bites and put down his utensils too. "I'll drive you to work today. On my way back, I'll stop by to get a haircut."
"Okay," Elizabeth replied.
The two went upstairs to change into their going-out clothes.
Timothy finished changing first. He picked up his belt, his slender fingers threading it through the belt loops, and said to Elizabeth, "I'll go feed the duckling in the backyard first."
Elizabeth nodded. "Okay."
Timothy came to the backyard. Looking at the duckling, he seemed to hear Seraphina's happy childish chatter when she used to feed it.
That warm memory stirred a pang of heartache in him.
He skillfully picked up the feed and put it in a small bowl, watching the duckling eat happily.
Sunlight fell on his head with its touches of gray hair. His tall figure looked especially refined yet lonely in the morning light.
Elizabeth leaned against the doorway, looking at Timothy's hair.
When she helped him cut his hair yesterday, she'd noticed he had more gray hairs now.
After feeding the duckling, Timothy stood up. Turning around and seeing Elizabeth, he went to wash his hands first, then walked over and put his arm around her shoulders with a smile. "Let's go."
Elizabeth nodded and walked out with Timothy.
Outside, the sun had just risen, golden sunlight falling on them.
Jacob saw Elizabeth and Timothy walking out side by side and sensed the harmonious atmosphere between them.
It was an atmosphere no one else could break into.
Jacob was smart enough not to open the car door for Elizabeth, instead standing to the side.
Timothy glanced at Jacob and smiled faintly. Timothy opened the car door for Elizabeth, waited for her to get in, closed the door, then walked around to the other side and got in.
After getting in the car, Timothy opened the small refrigerator inside and took out some bread, tearing open the package.
Elizabeth was about to reply to work messages when suddenly her view was blocked by the bread.
She turned to look at Timothy.
"You do your thing, I'll feed you," Timothy said with a raised eyebrow.
Elizabeth smiled helplessly, took a bite of the bread, then continued handling business.
Her fingers typed quickly on her phone screen, replying to messages.
Timothy would occasionally hold up the bread to feed Elizabeth, the two coordinating perfectly.
The car arrived at the company. Elizabeth and Jacob got out, while the driver would take Timothy to the barbershop afterward.
As soon as Elizabeth got out, several reporters tried to come over to interview her.
Security guards blocked them.
One reporter had just tried to photograph Elizabeth getting out of the car, with an angle that could capture Timothy inside the car.
Timothy's eyes swept coldly over the camera lens.
The reporter's finger trembled slightly, forgetting to press the shutter button.
"Ms. Penrose, what's your view on the product fire incident?"
"How does your company plan to handle this?"
"Ms. Penrose."
The reporters tried to chase after Elizabeth for interviews.
Timothy only told the driver to leave after watching Elizabeth enter the building.
Maddox's first concern when he woke up in the morning was news about Seraphina Enterprises.
Seeing today's news still full of bad press, he ate a few more bites of breakfast in good spirits.
After breakfast, Chris, Rocco and others came to find Maddox to play golf together.
Chris sat on the sofa, saying with a smile, "Yesterday several shareholders came crying to me."
Maddox put down his teacup, a cold smile on his lips. "What? What did they say?"
Chris answered casually, "They have a lot of complaints about Elizabeth. Ever since she took over the company, things keep going wrong."
Rocco also smiled faintly. "I also got calls from several shareholders. These recent crises have really lowered their confidence in her. But Elizabeth is now the major shareholder with absolute say in the company, so they can't do anything about her."
Maddox chuckled. "It's about time. Let's go play."
Willow was just coming downstairs. She called out to Maddox, "Honey, wait."
Maddox stopped and turned to wait for Willow.
Willow walked over. She greeted Chris and the others first, then said to Maddox, "Just now, Mrs. Hayes called to invite me out to play cards. Should I go?"
Maddox guessed it was Juan having his wife Qiana come to probe for information. Maddox nodded and said with a smile, "Go ahead."
Maddox trusted that Willow knew what to say. Willow was smart, not like his ex-wife - that idiot.
"Okay, I understand," Willow said gently, her face wearing a confident smile.
Maddox nodded with satisfaction, then said to Chris and the others, "Let's go, it's getting late."
After going upstairs to get ready, Willow also left, heading to Qiana's house.
Arriving at the Wilson family home, Willow was warmly welcomed in by Qiana.
Two other ladies were already waiting at the card table for Willow.
Four people - just right to play cards together.
The four chatted while playing cards casually.
Qiana tentatively asked Willow about Seraphina Enterprises. "This incident with Seraphina Enterprises' counterfeit products causing a fire has been quite a big deal. Mrs. Sherman, has your husband mentioned anything about it to you?"
