Chapter 296: Together
The next morning.
The weather forecast said it would be sunny today.
Elizabeth got up early.
She put on light makeup to make herself look more refreshed.
She went to the supermarket first to buy groceries and came home, then tidied herself up, waiting for Joe to come so they could go together to pick up Timothy from the police station.
Around ten o'clock.
Timothy walked out of the police station with a trace of tiredness on his face.
When he saw Elizabeth, a smile appeared on his face as he strode over to her.
"Elizabeth," Timothy called softly, his voice carrying a hint of tenderness and comfort, "I'm sorry for making you worry."
Elizabeth reached out to hug his waist, nuzzling her face against his chest.
Timothy raised his hand to gently stroke her hair, saying in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'm fine now."
Elizabeth nodded. She left his embrace, "Mr. Robinson, come home with me."
Timothy understood what Elizabeth meant.
His eyes were full of tenderness toward her.
"Okay, I'll go home with you."
The two got in the car. After getting in, they held each other's hands tightly.
There was a partition in the car, giving Timothy and Elizabeth private space.
When they got home, Joe made an excuse about having something to do and left first, not staying to disturb them.
Elizabeth stuffed a bathrobe and underwear into Timothy's arms, "You go take a shower first, I'll go prepare lunch."
After saying this, she quickly went to change into home clothes, grabbed a hair tie to put up her hair, then turned to urge him, "Go wash up quickly, rest after you're done and wait for me."
Timothy obediently went to shower, while Elizabeth went downstairs to busy herself in the kitchen.
Timothy's shower was quick. He came out of the bathroom with his hair still dripping water.
He pushed his hair up, revealing his forehead.
His hair had grown long - he hadn't had time to get it cut.
He sat on the sofa, opened his laptop, then picked up his phone from the table to call Joe.
During his time at the police station, he didn't know what was happening outside.
Although Elizabeth had put on light makeup, he could still tell she probably hadn't slept well at night.
That meant the search for Seraphina probably wasn't going well.
"Joe, report on the recent situation," Timothy said in a low voice.
"Yes," Joe quickly reported on the other end, "We've checked all possible hiding places in Silverlight City, but haven't found any leads so far. Could that man have already left Silverlight City?"
Timothy's brow furrowed even tighter. If Rolf had taken Seraphina and left Silverlight City, hiding in some remote place, it would be much harder to find them.
"Keep up the effort. Not just Silverlight City - arrange for people to search other counties and cities too. Also, look into Armando's situation."
Joe responded, "Okay."
Timothy hung up the phone and opened his computer to handle the work that had piled up recently.
Elizabeth was busy in the kitchen. When she brought the last dish to the dining table, she went upstairs to call Timothy for lunch.
"Mr. Robinson, lunch is ready."
Hearing Elizabeth's voice, Timothy stopped working and turned to look at Elizabeth walking in, "Okay."
He stood up, walked to Elizabeth's side, reached out to hold her hand, and went downstairs.
The two tacitly agreed not to talk about business for now.
The dining table looked quite abundant, but looking closely, you'd notice it was all vegetarian food.
Elizabeth served Timothy some food, "Eat more, you must be exhausted lately."
Timothy nodded, "Elizabeth, you don't need to cook all vegetarian food on purpose. You just got out of the hospital - you need to eat nutritious food."
Elizabeth smiled, "Starting today, I'm eating vegetarian too. We'll do it together."
Together they would pray for Seraphina to be safe and sound.
Timothy understood Elizabeth's unspoken meaning.
He silently picked up the food Elizabeth had just served him, chewed it, his Adam's apple moving slightly.
He nodded, "Okay, we'll do it together."
The two ate the vegetarian lunch quietly.
After lunch, Timothy took care of the dishes while Elizabeth went upstairs to shower first.
When she came out after showering, she saw Timothy already sitting on the sofa with his laptop on his lap, busy working.
She walked over and sat down beside him.
Elizabeth spoke softly, "I had someone look into Armando."
Timothy took the laptop off his lap and put it on the table, then reached out to pull Elizabeth into his arms, "I also had Joe look into him today."
Elizabeth adjusted her position, resting her head on his shoulder, "Armando - I want to handle him personally."
Timothy looked down, rubbing her hand, "Okay."
The room was quiet for a while.
Timothy spoke in a low voice, "Seraphina still hasn't been found. I'm sorry."
Hearing Timothy's apology, Elizabeth felt a pang of sadness, but she still forced herself to stay calm.
She gently lifted her head and looked into Timothy's eyes, "Mr. Robinson, we will find Seraphina, no matter what it takes."
Timothy nodded and kissed her forehead, "Yes, we will definitely find Seraphina."
The two held each other quietly for a while.
A phone call broke the quiet atmosphere.
Elizabeth sat up from Timothy's embrace. She went to the vanity to get her phone - it was Robbie calling.
Robbie's steady voice came through the phone, "Chairwoman Penrose, the trade-in event we're holding - because the time is so short, we've only gotten back thirty percent of the old products so far. I suspect Maddox and his people have already figured out our purpose."
Elizabeth immediately instructed, "Increase publicity efforts, let more customers know about this trade-in event. Prepare a press conference for 3:30 this afternoon. I'm coming to the company now."
After hanging up, she said to Timothy, "Mr. Robinson, I need to go to the company."
"Okay, go ahead. I'll wait for you at home," Timothy said. Seeing Elizabeth rushing to change clothes, he reminded her, "Elizabeth, slow down."
"Okay." Elizabeth's voice came from the walk-in closet.
