Chapter 249 A Few Days Before the Wedding
"What's wrong? Why aren't you calling? We're all waiting." Nova noticed that Elizabeth seemed to have made a call, but no one answered on the other end. Soon she hung up, then looked at her phone as if checking something, without continuing to dial.
Nova sneered.
Keep pretending.
Albert wiped the sweat from his forehead - it was hot. "If you guys aren't leaving, I'm out of here."
Nova glared at him. "Where do you think you're going? Everyone stay and watch the show."
Elizabeth had just been looking at a message from Russell, saying he had confirmed the wedding date for next Friday.
She replied to Russell's message.
Elizabeth was about to dial Timothy's number again when Timothy called first.
Timothy's voice came through the phone. "Elizabeth, is there something else you need to pick up?"
Elizabeth spoke calmly. "Someone's bullying your daughter and your wife."
Timothy frowned, his voice instantly turning cold. "I'll be right there."
After hanging up, Elizabeth looked at Nova and the others, smiling calmly. "Timothy will be here soon. Everyone can wait."
Nova remained dismissive. "We'll just wait and see."
Nova still thought Elizabeth was using psychological tactics.
A few minutes later, Timothy appeared in everyone's view.
Timothy strode over with a stern expression, naturally radiating an undeniable presence.
Nova was startled to see Timothy actually show up, her previous mocking expression completely gone.
Timothy glanced coolly at Nova and the others, asking coldly, "You're the ones bullying my wife and daughter?"
He reached over to take Seraphina from Elizabeth. Seraphina was getting heavier now, and it was tiring for Elizabeth to hold her.
Elizabeth leaned close to Timothy and deliberately lowered her voice to say a few words. She wanted to tell on them but was afraid Seraphina might understand, so she kept her voice down.
After listening, Timothy's eyes grew even colder. "What should and shouldn't be said - you're all old enough to know that, aren't you? Get lost. I'll have a good chat with your parents."
Nova quickly stepped forward to explain. She hadn't expected Elizabeth to be telling the truth. Everyone knew Jake and the Robinson family were enemies - how could Timothy possibly be with Jake's wife!
Now the facts were right in front of Nova.
"Mr. Robinson, we were wrong. We promise we won't talk nonsense again."
Nova and her friends nodded repeatedly, looking scared.
Another girl stepped forward and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Robinson. We really didn't mean it. Please forgive us."
"You should apologize to my wife," Timothy ignored her explanation. He put his arm around Elizabeth's waist. "Let's go. Mabel and the others have already started the barbecue."
After Timothy and Elizabeth left, Albert felt he was unlucky enough to curse, "I told you guys to leave earlier, but you wouldn't. Serves you right. I'm leaving."
Juniper had been a bit scared at first, but now she wasn't afraid anymore.
Juniper's cousin Mira had a decent relationship with Timothy, and besides, today's incident had nothing to do with Juniper.
Nova bit her lip. She was done for. She didn't know if her dad would scold her.
Timothy was really angry. "Should we hold the celebration earlier?"
Originally they had planned to announce Seraphina's identity when they got married, but now Timothy was really mad.
Elizabeth said calmly, "My dad just sent a message. Next Friday is a good day for a wedding."
They weren't short on money or manpower. The wedding venue, wedding dress, and other things - Timothy had prepared them long ago.
Now they just needed to confirm the wedding date and send out invitations.
The two arrived at the camping area where Alfonso and Mabel had already prepared the barbecue ingredients.
The food sizzled on the grill, and the air was filled with the aroma of grilled meat.
Seeing them arrive, Mabel called out, "Seraphina, come try the meat I grilled."
Timothy put Seraphina down to let her go to Mabel, then pulled Elizabeth to sit down together.
Seeing Mabel about to feed Seraphina the meat skewer she grilled, Alfonso quickly stopped her and handed over one he grilled himself. "Let Seraphina eat mine. Yours probably doesn't taste good."
Mabel glared at Alfonso, but worried her grilling wasn't good, she took his skewer and fed it to Seraphina.
Alfonso naturally took Mabel's grilled meat and ate it, frowning. "Mabel darling, you put too much sauce on it. Good thing Seraphina didn't eat it - it's all sauce flavor."
Mabel scoffed. "Did I ask you to eat it?"
Elizabeth rested her chin on her hand, watching Alfonso and Mabel's interaction, raising an eyebrow with a smile.
These two, maybe...
The Robinson Mansion.
Cecilia had just returned from the hospital and sat on the sofa rubbing her temples.
Tommy and Sloane had already been sent to schools abroad.
But the night before leaving the country, Jane suddenly developed a fever and breathing difficulties. When they took her to the hospital, they found out she had respiratory syncytial virus.
She was still in the hospital receiving treatment. Cecilia could only wait until she recovered before they could leave for abroad.
Zander came in with a wedding invitation and handed it to Cecilia. "Cecilia, an invitation from the Nightingale family."
Cecilia took the invitation and opened it to see Elizabeth and Timothy's names written on it. Her brow furrowed slightly.
Cecilia felt conflicted. She hadn't expected the two of them to get married so soon.
Cecilia gently put down the invitation. Manuel would probably be very angry when he saw it.
After all, no matter what, Timothy was a Robinson family member. For a son's wedding, Manuel was just receiving an invitation - anyone would be angry about that.
Cecilia decided to tell Manuel about this herself.
That evening, when Manuel came home, Cecilia first told him about Jane's current condition, then gave him the invitation.
She said softly, "This is an invitation from the Nightingale family. Timothy and Elizabeth are having their wedding on Friday."
Manuel frowned. He took the invitation, glanced at it, and his expression immediately darkened. "He's getting married and didn't notify the family in advance, but had the Nightingale family send us an invitation!"
Manuel took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. "Good, good, good. What a fine son I've raised!"
In fact, Timothy didn't know about sending Manuel an invitation - this was Elara's doing.
When Elara received the wedding invitation from Freya, she felt another opportunity had come.
Weddings were usually lively with lots of people, making it easier for Elara to take Seraphina away.
Elara calculated silently - if the Robinson family people also came, it would probably be even more chaotic, possibly providing convenience for her plan.
She would use this wedding to create chaos and achieve her goal of taking Seraphina away!
In the study, after Manuel calmed down, he said in a deep voice, "Since the Nightingale family dared to send me an invitation, you'll come with me that day."
Let's see who ends up embarrassed!
Manuel hadn't acknowledged Elizabeth.
Cecilia nodded. She walked behind Manuel and massaged his shoulders. "Don't be angry. Your health is what matters."
