Chapter 180 Wedding Photos
The three hosts from the Sherman family appeared.
Everyone stood up to offer their congratulations.
But they were curious why Jake hadn't shown up.
Vincent took the stage and said a few words, explaining Jake's absence. "My son has business abroad, but whether he comes tonight or not doesn't matter. What matters most tonight is to formally introduce everyone to our son's wife, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth walked onto the stage arm in arm with Calliope, moving gracefully.
Timothy's deep gaze followed that figure on stage the entire time.
Elizabeth took the microphone and smiled.
It was a beautiful, confident, and generous smile.
She said a few words, then Calliope took the microphone, praising Elizabeth in everything she said.
The three of them came down from the stage. Vincent went to the main table next door to entertain guests.
Elizabeth and Calliope sat at Freya's table.
Calliope wanted to chat with Freya, so the two of them sat together, leaving Elizabeth to take the empty seat next to Timothy.
Timothy stood up and pulled out the chair for her.
Elizabeth thanked him and sat down.
Emma looked up at Elizabeth and Timothy, then lowered her eyes.
Calliope turned to remind Elizabeth to eat something first to fill her stomach, as Elizabeth would need to go around toasting later.
Freya smiled. "Calliope, you must feel relieved now."
Calliope was beaming. "You can say that again. Come visit the Sherman Mansion when you're free. I grow lots of produce there."
"Okay."
Servers brought dishes to the table.
Elizabeth wiped her hands with a wet napkin.
Timothy picked up the utensils and served Elizabeth some food. "This dish is good, try it."
Calliope looked at Timothy in surprise but didn't think much of it.
Actually, the Sherman family hadn't planned to send an invitation to the Robinson family for this party. It was Jake who called and told them to send Timothy an invitation.
Vincent and Calliope secretly wondered if Jake and Timothy's relationship had improved.
Elizabeth glanced at Timothy and smiled lightly. "Mr. Robinson, thank you, but I can help myself."
Elizabeth raised her wine glass to toast Timothy.
Her red lips parted slightly as she drank.
She also toasted Mira.
Freya couldn't drink, so Emma drank on her behalf.
"I'll drink for my godmother. Mrs. Sherman, please."
"Please."
Timothy heard how Emma addressed Elizabeth, and his body stiffened slightly, his narrow eyes deepening.
Emma smiled brightly.
Just then, the host came on stage and said, "Mr. Sherman couldn't make it back today, but he's prepared a gift for Mrs. Sherman."
Elizabeth didn't know Jake had prepared a gift.
She smiled expectantly on the surface, but inside she was already on high alert.
Jake couldn't possibly be that thoughtful.
The main lights in the banquet hall gradually dimmed.
All the lights on stage went out.
Soon after, the big screen on stage lit up.
Wedding photos appeared one by one, accompanied by music.
These were wedding photos taken five years ago.
The photos taken at the bridal shop when Jake, impersonating Timothy, took Elizabeth there. But now the male lead's face on the screen was no longer Timothy's, but replaced with Jake's.
Elizabeth was probably the only one at the scene who knew these photos must have used AI face-swapping technology.
Replacing the original 'Timothy's' face with Jake's.
She ground her teeth secretly, wishing she could bite Jake to death.
Timothy stared darkly at the wedding photos on the screen. He leaned back in his chair and loosened his tie slightly.
Under the table, he reached over and tightly gripped Elizabeth's hand.
Elizabeth didn't know how to describe her current feelings. She just knew Jake wanted to stir up trouble.
Her hand under the table was gripped by Timothy.
Timothy must be very angry.
The lights in the banquet hall hadn't fully come back on yet, so it was a bit dim.
His fingers forcefully intertwined with her five fingers.
The host on stage was emotionally reciting touching words. "These wedding photos are from five years ago when Mr. Sherman and Mrs. Sherman got married. They had a low-key wedding and have been living a simple, happy life. Mr. Sherman is very grateful for Mrs. Sherman's dedication and companionship all these years."
Elizabeth turned her head to look at Timothy, then turned back to look at the wedding photos on the screen, showing a delighted smile.
She used her other hand to try to pry open the large hand tightly interlaced with her five fingers.
Timothy refused to let go.
Right now he really wanted to just take Elizabeth away regardless of everything.
But he hadn't asked for her thoughts yet.
Elizabeth pressed her lips together. She was very nervous now.
She worried someone would notice her hand tightly clasped with Timothy's.
Her palms were sweating.
She also worried Jake would find out.
As the wedding photos on the screen finished playing, the image froze on a photo of Jake kissing Elizabeth's forehead.
Timothy's eyes turned bloodshot.
He leaned toward Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's whole body trembled, afraid Timothy would do something unexpected.
She forced herself to stay calm, turned to look at him, and asked lightly, "Mr. Robinson, is something wrong?"
Timothy smiled slowly. He raised his wine glass to clink with Elizabeth's, lowering his voice to an almost teeth-gritting tone. "When did you and Jake get married?"
"Five years ago, I guess," Elizabeth blinked and answered softly. "We got married five years ago."
He pulled her hand toward his thigh.
Elizabeth didn't dare struggle, afraid of making too much noise.
His thigh was tense.
"Married five years ago?" Timothy slowly repeated the words.
