Chapter 123 Street Beggar
Orion frowned and said to Elizabeth on the other end of the phone, "At six o'clock this morning, Ms. Greer went home with her mom to make soup."
"We were all keeping watch downstairs. Around seven o'clock, when we didn't see them come down, we estimated how long it takes to make soup and called to check on the situation."
Orion was quite alert.
They were perfectly fine at home, yet they disappeared.
"They're probably still in some room in this building. We've already called the police."
Orion wasn't a police officer, so he couldn't just enter people's homes to search without reason.
Although you're supposed to wait twenty-four hours before reporting someone missing, the police will still open a case when personal safety is involved.
And during the time spent checking each household, something might happen to Jessa.
The entire building had thirty-six units.
Elizabeth sat in her car at that moment. Though anxious inside, she forced herself to stay calm. "Go find Isaac from the community, then knock on each door and say you smell something burning."
With the community security guard present, most residents would open their doors. Some people might have already left for work at this time.
Elizabeth hung up with Orion. She had wanted to call Timothy.
But this morning when Timothy left, he mentioned he had a surgical operation in the morning.
Elizabeth called Joe directly. "Joe, is there a fastest way to check the water and electricity bills for each household at Contentment Court for the past three months?"
With thirty-six users, they could at least screen out the most suspicious ones to investigate first.
Joe said, "Ms. Penrose, I'll be as quick as possible."
He didn't have time to ask why, but he could tell from Elizabeth's urgent tone.
When Joe said he'd be quick, he meant it.
After all, if nothing unexpected happened, Elizabeth would be Timothy's wife in the future.
When Elizabeth arrived at Contentment Court, Joe had just sent her the water and electricity bill information he'd found.
Setting aside the number of people in each household for now.
There were permanent residents, renters, and users who rarely lived there.
According to the information Joe sent, they could at least first rule out the regular residential families.
"9th floor 201, 11th floor 201, 13th floor 101..."
Elizabeth handed the information to Orion beside her. Everyone split up to search. When they arrived, undercover police officers had just arrived too.
---
"After we finish this job, we can rest for a long time again."
"This chick is a female celebrity, good-looking, with tender skin. She feels really nice to touch."
Uri's sleazy voice made Jessa's body tremble with fear. Not long ago, she had completely lost consciousness.
Jessa's mouth was sealed, her eyes bound with black cloth, unable to see the situation clearly.
When she moved her body, she sensed there seemed to be another person beside her. Jessa guessed it might be her mother Gemma.
Gemma and Jessa had been busy in the kitchen this morning.
The doorbell rang.
Gemma told Jessa to wash the vegetables while she went to see who it was.
Generally, Gemma wouldn't open the door for strangers, but she saw it was Tate, who had saved Ewan a couple days ago.
She opened the door and saw that most of Tate's body was soaking wet.
Tate looked at Gemma with surprise. "Ma'am, what a coincidence. I'm a new resident from next door. The water pipe in my place burst. Do you know where the building's water valve is?"
Gemma looked toward the neighboring unit. The door next door was closed. Before she could say anything, Tate sprayed something at her.
When Jessa walked out of the kitchen to see who Gemma was talking to, she also got sprayed in the face.
Jessa didn't know what happened after that.
"Hurry up, strip her clothes and take photos and videos." Tate, who looked honest and simple, now had a vicious expression.
---
In the past, when Tate worked odd jobs, he earned just a few thousand a month, barely making ends meet.
He happened to meet someone selling this kind of spray and got into this illegal business.
"Tate, stripping clothes is what I'm best at." Uri walked over to Jessa.
This time Jessa also understood what these people wanted to do.
Her struggles were useless. The ropes binding her wrists and body were very tight.
Her body was being groped.
Her pants below were violently pulled off.
Jessa couldn't stay calm anymore. Tears flowed down her face.
Uri looked Jessa over.
"This place is just a bit small."
"Hurry up, some strange men appeared downstairs." Tate held binoculars, standing at the window looking down. He frowned and urged.
They were only here to take photos and videos, not to kill or set fires. If they were fast, they could escape quickly.
Uri felt it was a shame but quickly took videos and photos.
"Done, bro, let's go."
They had already planned their escape route.
---
Jessa's home was at 9th floor 101. The neighboring 9th floor 201 had no water or electricity bill payment records for the past three months.
Elizabeth didn't have time to think much now. She could only have someone break the door open first.
She wouldn't consider the compensation and lawsuits afterward for now.
No one was found at 9th floor 201.
She looked upstairs and led people to 11th floor 201.
They found Jessa and Gemma.
The moment Elizabeth saw Jessa, her eyes instantly turned red. Orion took off his jacket and handed it to Elizabeth. He went first to untie the ropes on Gemma.
Elizabeth covered Jessa with the jacket, removed the black cloth, and used a knife to cut the ropes. "We're going to the hospital."
Jessa's body was shaking, shaking non-stop. She first turned to look at Gemma.
"She's probably drugged unconscious," Orion said.
"They took photos, vid-videos." Jessa swallowed.
Elizabeth wiped Jessa's tears.
Elizabeth looked up at Orion. Orion nodded.
They took them to the hospital. The doctor examined Jessa and Gemma and found both physically fine.
Gemma had inhaled more of the drug and would need some time before waking up.
Elizabeth stood at the hospital room door. She glanced at Jessa curled up on the bed inside.
Elizabeth walked out of the hospital, got in her car, and called Sherry.
"You did this, didn't you?"
The only person Elizabeth could think of was Sherry.
Sherry was applying ointment to her swollen face. Hearing Elizabeth's voice, she raised an eyebrow. "Ms. Penrose, what are you talking about? What did I do?"
Elizabeth's face darkened. "About Jessa."
Sherry laughed carelessly. "Ms. Penrose, what exactly are you talking about?"
Elizabeth knew Sherry wouldn't admit it.
Sherry wasn't stupid.
"Let's meet and talk."
"No, we have nothing to talk about." Sherry covered her mouth and laughed. It seemed that person had succeeded.
Elizabeth suggested calmly, "I'll trade you information about Yvonne. Let's meet and talk."
Sherry paused. It wasn't that she was afraid to meet Elizabeth. She would bring bodyguards.
"Fine, but I'll choose the meeting place. Give me Yvonne's information first."
"Do you think I'm stupid? If I give it to you and you go back on your word, what then? I was the one who introduced Yvonne to Jessa, wanting to see you suppressed in music by someone who used to bully you."
Elizabeth said coldly, pretending. "Will you meet? I have one more thing I want to ask you in person."
Sherry was almost furious. So it was Elizabeth who introduced Yvonne to Jessa.
She was confident Elizabeth wouldn't dare do anything to her. She agreed to meet Elizabeth.
Actually, Sherry also wanted to see what Elizabeth looked like with red, crying eyes right now.
She told Elizabeth, "Let's meet at West Wealth Restaurant."
---
At that moment, at West Wealth Restaurant.
Sherry watched Elizabeth walk in. She was about to smile and greet her when Elizabeth grabbed her hair and pulled her up.
"Elizabeth, are you crazy! Let go!"
The bodyguards protecting Sherry were blocked by the people Elizabeth brought.
Everyone eating at West Wealth Restaurant today was shocked to see the two women fighting.
They were both wearing masks, so they couldn't be recognized for now.
The restaurant manager quickly called the police.
Elizabeth grabbed Sherry's hair and dragged her into the women's restroom. A woman was just coming out of a stall and, seeing Elizabeth and Sherry fighting, quickly ran out of the restroom.
Elizabeth's face was cold as she pushed open a stall door.
Her anger gave her explosive strength.
She viciously pressed Sherry's entire head into the toilet water and kicked hard at the back of Sherry's knees.
Sherry knelt down and unexpectedly swallowed toilet water. She struggled, but the hand pressing her head wouldn't let go.
The feeling of being close to death.
Just when she thought she would suffocate to death, she breathed fresh air again.
Then the dress she wore today was lifted up by someone. Sherry tried to stand up but was kicked hard in the stomach by Elizabeth again.
Elizabeth pulled off Sherry's underwear, took out her phone and took several photos, then pulled open Sherry's clothes, her fingers trembling as she held her phone to record video.
She didn't like using this method against girls.
She had been pushed to her breaking point.
Sherry probably guessed Elizabeth didn't dare kill her. Sherry looked at Elizabeth with hateful eyes. "Elizabeth, I'll call the police to arrest you!"
Elizabeth sent the photos and videos she took to her email, put away her phone, and looked coldly at the disheveled Sherry.
"It's just fighting. I'll be locked up for a while and then released. Do you dare tell anyone about the photos?"
Sherry really didn't dare.
Just as Elizabeth was about to leave, Sherry, gasping for breath, laughed. "Elizabeth, do you remember a year ago when you went on a business trip with Armando?"
Elizabeth looked down at Sherry on the floor.
Sherry couldn't help but smile, saying crazily, "That time in the hotel, you were raped by a street beggar."
She deliberately didn't say the man was Timothy, betting that Timothy hadn't told Elizabeth about this yet, since Elizabeth was in love with Armando at that time.
"You were raped by a beggar, a street beggar."
