Chapter 364 Timothy Faints
Border Ridge City had been hit by heavy rainstorms for two days straight.
Outside, thunder roared and lightning flashed.
Seraphina got off work and looked at the downpour that showed no signs of stopping. She frowned,
wondering if Stefan would be able to make it back tomorrow.
They were supposed to go to Majestic City the day after tomorrow. If he couldn't get back tomorrow, that would be a problem.
Stefan had gone on a business trip to Silverlight City with Sloane yesterday.
Silverlight City was also being hit by heavy rainstorms.
Seraphina got in her car. Halfway through the drive, she got a call from Stefan.
Stefan rubbed his temples, looking at the heavy rain outside the window. "Dione, are you off work?"
Seraphina smiled. "Yes, I'm off. How are things on your end?"
Stefan sighed. "The flight's been delayed. There's going to be another heavy rainstorm tomorrow. We won't be able to go to Majestic City this time. Let's change it to next Saturday, is that okay with you?"
A bolt of lightning crashed outside the car with a loud boom. It sounded scary.
Seraphina was startled by the sudden thunder. "With the bad weather, it's safer to delay the flight. If we can't go to your parents' place this week, what should we do about them?"
Stefan said gently, "I'll call them and explain."
Seraphina nodded. "Okay, we'll go next Saturday then."
After exchanging a few words of concern, they hung up.
On the other end, after hanging up, Stefan called home. He explained to Kennedy about the business trip running into heavy rain and the flight delay.
Kennedy, hearing Stefan's explanation, was a bit disappointed but still prioritized Stefan's safety. "Alright, safety comes first. You two come back next Saturday."
Stefan smiled. "Thanks for understanding, Mom. We'll definitely be back next Saturday."
Just then, he heard a knock on his door.
"Mom, someone's knocking. I'll hang up now." Stefan hung up and went to open the door. He saw Sloane at the door. "Chairwoman Johnson?"
Sloane's face looked terrible. Her delicate features now carried a pitiful look, unlike her usual capable demeanor. She covered her forehead with her hand and said weakly, "Call me a car. I need to go to the hospital."
"I'll call an ambulance." Stefan quickly grabbed his phone, ready to dial for an ambulance.
"Wait, no need for an ambulance. I think I just have a fever." Sloane quickly stopped him. She seemed to just be dizzy from a fever—no need for an ambulance.
Seeing that she didn't need an ambulance, Stefan arranged for a car instead. He went back into his room to grab his important items, then came back out.
He immediately supported her. "Let me take you to the hospital then."
Sloane nodded and forced a weak smile. "Thank you, Mr. Hensley."
The car was already waiting at the hotel entrance.
Stefan helped Sloane into the car and got in on the other side.
At the hospital, Stefan helped Sloane register with internal medicine.
After examining her, the doctor confirmed it was dizziness caused by fever. She got a shot, was prescribed some medicine, and was told to rest for a while.
After hearing the doctor's explanation, Stefan breathed a sigh of relief and helped Sloane out of the examination room. "Chairwoman Johnson, please sit for a bit. I'll go get the medicine."
Sloane nodded. She sat in a chair, furrowing her brow, leaning back with her eyes closed to rest.
Stefan quickly got the medicine, and they returned to the hotel.
"Chairwoman Johnson, this is the medicine the doctor prescribed. Remember to take it on time." Stefan handed the medicine bag to Sloane.
Sloane reached out to take the medicine and smiled weakly. "Thank you, Mr. Hensley."
Stefan said properly, "You're welcome. It's what I should do. Call me if you need anything."
He finished speaking and turned to go back to his room.
Sloane returned to her room, took the medicine first, then lay down on the bed.
When she woke up, it was already completely dark outside.
Rain was still drizzling outside.
She turned on the bedside lamp and sat up weakly. Her head wasn't as dizzy as it had been during the day.
Sloane picked up her phone, saw a message from Stefan, and replied: [I'm awake now. Please prepare a bowl of porridge for me, thank you]
Before long, she heard a knock on her door. Sloane put on a jacket and went to open it.
Stefan stood at the door holding a bowl of hot porridge.
He first looked at Sloane's complexion—she didn't look as bad as during the day. "Chairwoman Johnson, here's the porridge you asked for."
Sloane took the porridge and said softly, "Thank you."
She closed the door and went back to her room to eat. Halfway through, she heard her phone vibrate.
She picked up her phone and looked at the message. It was from a private investigator—photos of Tommy with different women at a villa over the past two days.
Sloane frowned, feeling a bit disappointed and helpless.
She suddenly lost her appetite and put down the spoon.
In the middle of the night.
Sloane sat on the sofa, vomiting into the trash can repeatedly.
When she finally stopped vomiting, tears were already streaming down her face.
She picked up her phone and called Stefan. Soon, Stefan's hoarse, low voice came through. "Chairwoman Johnson?"
Sloane closed her eyes and said weakly, "I'm not feeling well. Take me to the emergency room."
Stefan immediately woke up fully. "Okay, please wait. I'll be right there."
He put his phone on the nightstand, hurriedly got dressed, grabbed his wallet, and left the room.
Not long after Stefan left his room, his phone screen lit up with an incoming call display showing 'Dione'. Soon after, the screen went dark.
At that moment, in the castle in Border Ridge City.
Seraphina bit her lip, her fingers trembling as she put her phone down on the sofa.
Stefan should be sleeping at this hour.
She held Brandon, her whole body trembling too.
"Seraphina, what happened to Dad?" Brandon looked up at Seraphina fearfully.
Brandon knew something was wrong, and his voice was full of helplessness.
"It's okay, it's okay. Dad will wake up tomorrow." Seraphina held Brandon and kept comforting him.
Timothy had felt unwell in the middle of the night. He got up and had just picked up his phone to contact his bodyguard.
Before the call connected, he collapsed.
Elizabeth had woken up when Timothy got up. She opened her eyes just in time to see Timothy collapse.
She had no idea how she managed to stay calm enough to call for someone to take Timothy to the castle's emergency room.
