Chapter 353: Coax Him to Say It's Delicious
Sloane returned to The Robinson Mansion around eleven at night, exhausted both physically and mentally.
Jane had gone to a party, and Tommy was probably lying in some woman's bed.
Sloane felt the house was a bit empty.
Today she had almost been ambushed by Asher at the company. Coming home to this emptiness made her feel strangely uncomfortable.
But it was just a little uncomfortable, that's all.
After washing up, Sloane lay in bed thinking about the small step she'd taken today - she had promoted her own person in the finance department.
This was an important starting point in her internal company power struggle.
She propped herself up halfway, pulled open the drawer, and took out a financial magazine.
The magazine was published several years ago, with Elizabeth from over a decade ago on the cover.
She opened the magazine, her eyes filled with determination.
The magazine told the story of how Elizabeth entered the Sherman Group and gradually took control of the entire company, starting as an outsider nobody believed in.
Sloane had always felt that if Elizabeth could enter the Sherman Group as Jake's wife and start taking over the company, then she could too!
If Elizabeth could eventually firmly control the Sherman Group and even directly rename the company Seraphina Enterprises, then she, Sloane, could do it too!
Sloane had received elite management training since childhood, while Elizabeth was just a community college graduate!
Taking down Asher today was just the beginning. Sloane closed the magazine and put it back in the drawer.
Only after she controlled the Robinson Group would she have a chance to deal with Seraphina Enterprises.
One step at a time - she would avenge her parents Armando and Sherry!
Just as Sloane was about to go to sleep, the bedroom door quietly opened, and Tommy walked in reeking of alcohol.
He turned to see Sloane already awake, his face showing a hint of apology. "Sloane, sorry, did I wake you?"
Tommy walked over to the sofa and sat down, leaning back and rubbing his forehead. "I heard you fired Asher? They've been calling me."
Sloane got up, got out of bed, and walked over to Tommy, bending down to help him unbutton his shirt. "Asher was someone the old shareholders planted in the company. He's been cooking the books and made several fake accounts. Go take a shower first, we'll talk later."
"Won't doing this cause a backlash? Those shareholders aren't easy to deal with." Tommy's voice was low and hoarse from drinking, but his words carried a hint of concern.
Sloane gently stroked his face. "Tommy, I know it's risky, but the company can't keep someone like that. If we want the company to develop better in the future, I have to do this."
She'd heard that Elizabeth had cleared out all the Sherman family people from the Sherman Group back in the day.
Tommy reached out and held her hand, pressing his lips to her fingers. He raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Sloane, I trust your abilities. Don't worry, when they call me, it goes in one ear and out the other."
Sloane smiled with pursed lips.
Tommy stood up and walked toward the bathroom, turning back to smile at Sloane. "You go to sleep first, I'm going to shower."
Sloane nodded and lay back on the bed, closing her eyes.
Before long, the other side of the bed sank down.
Tommy had finished showering and come back. He reached over and pulled her into his arms, his voice affectionate. "Sloane."
Sloane's body leaned against his. After being attacked by Asher today, she had no mood to sleep with him tonight. "Tommy, I'm very tired."
Tommy made a sound of acknowledgment. "Go to sleep then, I won't bother you."
Just then, his phone on the nightstand, which he'd forgotten to put on silent, received several messages in a row. The notification sounds were annoying.
Sloane frowned. Tommy clicked his tongue and quickly reached for his phone on the nightstand.
He lazily put the phone on silent first, then checked to see which woman was messaging him at night.
He opened the messages - it was Ruby, a beauty he'd just met at the club tonight.
Ruby had boldly sent him several flirty selfies.
Sloane opened her eyes and saw the revealing photos of Ruby on Tommy's phone. She calmly closed her eyes again and turned over to sleep.
Tommy blocked Ruby, then tossed his phone back on the nightstand and hugged Sloane from behind.
He didn't like women who couldn't read the room.
---
"Mr. Hensley, have you put medicine on the wound on your back?" Sloane stopped her work and looked up to ask.
Stefan stood in front of her desk holding several files, placing them on the desk. "Already applied medicine, thank you for Chairwoman Johnson's concern. These files are urgent."
Sloane nodded and picked up a file to review.
Stefan walked out of the office.
He hadn't agreed to do push-ups for Seraphina last night, and Seraphina seemed angry.
She hadn't replied to any of the messages he'd sent last night or today.
Stefan multitasked, working while thinking of ways to make it up to Seraphina.
---
At this moment, Seraphina, who Stefan was thinking about, left the house with a bitter smile, carrying Timothy's loving breakfast to work at Seraphina Enterprises.
Today was Seraphina's first day at work. Timothy was bursting with fatherly love. He let Elizabeth continue sleeping while he volunteered to get up and make breakfast for Seraphina, and also made one for Brandon.
Brandon looked enviously at Seraphina's retreating figure, then raised his little hand. "Daddy, I want to bring breakfast to school too!"
Timothy's cooking skills had never improved.
Brandon blinked at the pasta in front of him. It looked good, but he still didn't dare eat it.
Don't let his young age fool you - he was very picky about food.
Hearing that Brandon wanted to bring breakfast to kindergarten, Timothy said casually, "Of course not. Nobody brings breakfast to school. Hurry up and eat, I'll take you to school in a bit."
Brandon poked at the noodles with his little fork, muttering, "Even rats wouldn't dare eat Daddy's cooking."
He pouted, his face full of refusal to eat. "Sister can bring it, why can't I?"
The fatherly glow on Timothy's face instantly disappeared. He knew Brandon was complaining that his cooking was bad.
In a word, Brandon was asking for a spanking.
Seraphina was still more considerate. When Seraphina saw Timothy get up early to cook breakfast, her first words were "Thanks for your hard work, Dad."
Brandon ended up climbing into the car rubbing his spanked bottom.
Not only did he have to eat that bowl of noodles, he also got his bottom spanked. Why was being a kid so hard?
Good thing he'd grow up someday and spank Timothy's bottom too.
Fortunately, Timothy didn't know about Brandon's grand plan.
---
Meanwhile, just as Seraphina's car was about to reach the company, she received a message from Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was lying in bed with her two long legs draped over the blanket. She yawned and squinted as she sent Seraphina a message.
【Baby, good luck at work! I had the bodyguard buy you another breakfast. Don't eat what your dad made, just tell him it's delicious!】
Timothy wanted to show his fatherly love, and Elizabeth couldn't very well stop him, so Brandon had to suffer and eat it himself.
Seeing Elizabeth's message, Seraphina laughed out loud and replied, 【Mom, I know】
