Chapter 344 Children's Education Issues
Timothy's gaze swept deeply over the fingers swaying on his thigh.
"Do I really get a prize if I guess right?" he asked in a husky voice.
"I'm not lying to you," Elizabeth promised with a bright smile.
Timothy raised an eyebrow. "You didn't want to inherit the Nightingale Group for three reasons. First, given Freya's personality, if you actually inherited the Nightingale Group shares, she'd probably keep nagging you to hand the Nightingale Group over to Herschel to manage."
"Second, the Nightingale Group's shareholders aren't like the old Sherman Group's. They wouldn't let you make sweeping changes to the company or hold real decision-making power."
"Third, you didn't want to waste energy dealing with Freya, and you didn't want to waste energy taking over the Nightingale Group."
He pulled Elizabeth over with an amused look, settling her on his lap. "In short, you found it 'annoying.'"
Since she found it annoying, why bother getting involved?
Just like when Manuel died, Timothy only found out then that Manuel hadn't left him any inheritance.
Thinking about this, he chuckled softly. Honestly, he wasn't angry—he just thought Manuel was stupid.
If Manuel knew what happened after his death, he'd probably deeply regret how he divided up his estate.
Whether in history or modern management, trying to support a young child in running a corporation only ends with power being divided up or falling into others' hands.
The Robinson Group, now on a downward slide, was just a small branch office to Timothy.
Timothy and Elizabeth briefly discussed this topic before moving on to Brandon's education.
To them, Brandon and Seraphina were what really needed their attention now.
Thinking about Brandon's education gave Elizabeth a headache.
Tonight, Brandon had secretly put the celery he hated eating back on the plate.
Little Brandon even praised himself: "I finished everything! I'm so great! I'm so brave!"
Elizabeth really felt like sighing now.
Who gave Brandon the nerve to deceive them like this?

The Robinson Mansion.
After returning from the party and taking a shower, Sloane went straight to the study to make a video call.
Soon the call connected, and an old woman with completely white hair appeared on screen.
Sloane sat up straight and said, "Great-grandmother."
Cecilia put on her reading glasses, her eyes sharp as she looked at Sloane, her voice aged but stern. "Sloane, I've told you—you're married to Tommy now. From now on, call me Grandma like Tommy does."
Sloane lowered her eyes apologetically. "I'm sorry, Grandma. I understand."
Cecilia watched her for a moment, then sighed. "You've been managing the Robinson Group for a while now. How's it going?"
Sloane was actually struggling a bit with the Robinson Group—there were many problems. But she couldn't tell Cecilia that. She could only say, "It's going well, Grandma. I've already transferred Sam away."
Cecilia nodded. "You were right to transfer him."
Sloane told Cecilia about what happened at the Nightingale family party tonight. "Mrs. Nightingale gave the Nightingale Group shares to Herschel and his son."
Hearing this news, Cecilia laughed loudly several times. After laughing enough, she coughed a few times and caught her breath. "Good, very good! Elizabeth got nothing at all, just like Timothy couldn't get anything from the Robinson family!"
Sloane lowered her eyes. Actually, her thoughts differed from Cecilia's.
Sloane felt that maybe the Nightingale Group didn't matter much to the legendary Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's Seraphina Enterprises was now in the top fifty internationally.
Cecilia's smile faded as she brought up another matter. "You and Tommy need to have an heir soon. Where's Tommy?"
This question made Sloane a bit uncomfortable. She smiled and said, "Grandma, we just got married. Tommy doesn't want kids this young, and I'm managing the Robinson Group right now—I really don't have the energy."
Cecilia frowned. "Sloane, before the plan is complete, no matter how busy you are, you need to make time to care about Tommy, understand?"
Sloane smiled with difficulty. "Grandma, I understand what you mean."
Cecilia nodded with slight satisfaction. "Good. Get some rest early. Contact me right away if anything comes up."
After hanging up the video call, Sloane's mood was complicated.
She left the study and walked back to the bedroom to find Tommy already home.
Sloane checked the time. Tommy rarely came home before midnight.
As soon as she walked over, Tommy reached out and pulled her into his arms. He smiled. "Sloane, your body wash smells so good."
Sloane glanced at him. "You smell terrible. Why are you home so early tonight?"
Tommy laughed softly. "I didn't go to the party with you tonight, so I came home early to keep you company."
Sloane's feelings toward Tommy were complicated. When she was little and got scolded by Cecilia for not studying well, Tommy was always the one who comforted her.
There was some romantic feeling between them.
But Tommy was too much of a player, too fickle.
Sloane lowered her head shyly, exposing her neck.
Tommy's fingers lingered on her neck as he tightened his arm around her waist. "Sloane, let me take a shower first."
---
At night, the Robinson Mansion was very quiet.
Moonlight spilled through the window, adding a soft glow to the master bedroom.
Tommy and Sloane made love twice, then he held Sloane as they prepared to sleep.
Sloane felt sticky and uncomfortable. She frowned and removed the arm around her waist, saying in a hoarse voice, "I'm going to take a shower first."
Tommy didn't even open his eyes, just grunted in response.
Sloane quietly got out of bed, grabbed a robe to put on, and walked into the bathroom.
After showering, Sloane felt much better.
She tiptoed back to the bedroom, saw Tommy already sound asleep, and quietly lay back down on the bed.
Sloane couldn't sleep now.
When she was little, Cecilia told her that Timothy and Elizabeth had killed her father Armando, killed her mother Sherry, and caused the Johnson Group to go bankrupt.
Sloane should have been the Johnson family's pampered and adored socialite.
In the months since returning to the country, Sloane had never seen Timothy or Elizabeth at any event.
She was too insignificant to them.
Could she even get her revenge?
Sloane turned slightly on her side, gazing at Tommy's profile.
She thought about how the clothes Tommy wore home today reeked of women's perfume.
Sloane frowned and forced herself to close her eyes and sleep.
