Chapter 340 Sloane's Plan
At night, the whole house quieted down.
Elizabeth snuggled against Timothy.
"Seraphina has really grown up, she has her own thoughts and goals now," Elizabeth said softly, her eyes full of both relief and a bit of worry.
Timothy gently stroked Elizabeth's hair, his expression tender. "You're worried that Seraphina might get hurt emotionally?"
Elizabeth nodded and sighed. "It would be a lie to say I'm not worried. We won't know what kind of person Stefan is until we meet him."
Timothy understood Elizabeth's concerns. He said softly, "I'm worried too, but we need to trust Seraphina. She's a smart and strong kid."
Elizabeth recalled the time she secretly went to school to surprise Seraphina.
Elizabeth happened to overhear Seraphina's classmates mockingly laughing behind her back about how fat she was.
As a mother, Elizabeth's heart ached when she heard those mocking words.
"How many of those excellent men nowadays don't care about a woman's appearance?" Elizabeth muttered with a cold snort, a trace of worry flashing in her eyes.
Timothy chuckled softly, his eyes deep. "Seraphina's excellence isn't on the outside. She won't let herself fall into a messy relationship. He's just one man—Seraphina could support however many men she wants in the future."
Elizabeth thought about Timothy's words. They made sense.
And she believed in her Seraphina too.
"Mrs. Robinson, the spring night is short," Timothy's hand gently rubbed Elizabeth's waist, hinting, "Let me take care of you?"
Elizabeth twisted her body, her slender, delicate arms hanging around Timothy's neck. Her lips gently bit Timothy's Adam's apple. "Okay."
Out of the corner of her eye, she happened to see the tablet screen standing on the cabinet.
Timothy had just reached to touch her waist when he was stopped.
Elizabeth pressed down on Timothy's hand and lazily raised an eyebrow. "Look at your son. What's he doing?"
Timothy turned to look at the tablet. Brandon, who he thought was already asleep, was wriggling and crawling down from the bed.
Four-year-old Brandon knelt on the floor, half his body diving under the bed. Soon he crawled out, clutching a watercolor box in his hands.
He opened the watercolor box. Inside, besides watercolors, there were two candies.
Brandon counted with his chubby little hands—two pieces. He'd eat one tonight!
He was so happy!
Elizabeth laughed in exasperation.
Timothy swore, "I didn't give him candy."
Elizabeth said, "I didn't either. I put away all the candy in the house."
So where did Brandon get his candy?
Brandon's little paws tore open the candy wrapper as he counted the snacks he'd eaten today. "Today I ate a piece of bread and a candy!"
When Timothy heard Brandon mention the bread, his eyebrow twitched. Timothy quickly pulled the blanket over, wrapping Elizabeth in the covers.
"Elizabeth, I'll take him to brush his teeth and stand in the corner later! Let's make love first."
The next day.
After a night's rest, Seraphina's energy had recovered well.
After breakfast, she accompanied Elizabeth and Timothy on a walk. When they returned from the walk, she went back to her room and took out her phone to call Stefan. "Stefan, guess where I am right now?"
Stefan was buying breakfast for his boss Sloane. Hearing his girlfriend Seraphina's sweet, soft voice on the phone, he smiled. "Dione, did you come back to the country?"
"Correct answer! You're so smart." Seraphina smiled, her eyes crinkling. She moved her thick legs to continue exercising. "What time do you get off work?"
Stefan first asked Seraphina to wait a moment. He said to the breakfast shop owner, "Boss, one sandwich and a cup of hot milk with no sugar, thank you."
After getting the breakfast and paying, he took the initiative to explain to Seraphina, "I'm buying breakfast for my boss."
Stefan was tall with handsome features and warm eyes.
He always seemed calm and composed when handling things, giving people a very reliable feeling.
Hearing his explanation, Seraphina smiled and hummed in acknowledgment.
Although she had already eaten breakfast, she could still act cute with Stefan. "I haven't had breakfast yet either."
If someone saw Seraphina acting cute, they might think it didn't match her appearance, or maybe they'd find her disgusting.
On the other end of the phone, Stefan said warmly, "Send me your address and I'll order delivery for you."
"Okay." Seraphina hadn't yet revealed her true identity to Stefan. When interacting with Stefan, she still used the fake name Dione, and the home address she gave Stefan was still the one Elizabeth and Timothy had arranged.
Since Stefan had to rush to work, Seraphina hung up first.
Before hanging up, they had already agreed to meet tonight.
In the car, Sloane rubbed her temples.
Last night in the early morning hours, Tommy came home drunk from partying, and she was busy taking care of him.
Now she felt a bit exhausted.
Sloane casually glanced out the window and saw a figure. "Lanny, stop the car for a moment."
The car stopped. Sloane rolled down the window and called out, "Mr. Hensley."
Stefan was waiting in line for the bus. Hearing someone call him, he turned to look.
Seeing it was Sloane, he walked over. "Chairwoman Johnson, good morning."
Sloane smiled faintly. "Get in."
"Thank you." Stefan nodded. He walked around to the other side, opened the door and got in. After fastening his seatbelt, he handed over the breakfast in his hands. "This is the breakfast I bought for you."
Sloane took the breakfast and thanked him. "Thank you. Are the materials for today's meeting ready?"
Stefan nodded. "They're ready. I've already sent them to your email."
Sloane looked at the breakfast in her hands, very satisfied with Stefan's attention to detail.
She gently took a bite of the sandwich and drank a few sips of hot milk before turning to look at Stefan. "Is the handover work with Sam going smoothly? If there's anything you don't understand, just ask Sam. He's very capable."
Stefan nodded with a warm smile. "Sam was very thorough during the handover."
Sloane nodded and stopped talking.
This time she deliberately transferred Sam to manage a branch office.
After all, Sam was the special assistant to Tommy's grandfather Manuel.
Sam knew the company's operations inside and out.
If she let Sam continue staying at headquarters, staying by her side, he would always be in her way when she tried to do things.
Sloane thought about Cecilia's plan and pressed her red lips together, frowning slightly.
