Chapter 329 I Also Learned to Cheat
Timothy sat in his study chair.
He stared expressionlessly at the documents on the desk, his fingers tapping lightly on the surface.
Elizabeth walked into the study and came to his side. She picked up the documents from the desk to look at them.
When Manuel was brought back to Border Ridge City, Timothy had quietly ordered someone to send the body to the hospital for a secret examination.
This document was the examination results, which showed no abnormalities.
Elizabeth frowned. She put down the documents and pulled over a chair to sit down. "There are only two possibilities for Mr. Manuel Robinson's death - either it was truly an accident, or it was deliberate. Mr. Timothy Robinson, which do you think it is?"
Timothy turned to look at Elizabeth. Seeing her in short sleeves and worried she might be cold, he first grabbed the remote to adjust the air conditioning.
He still had doubts about Manuel's death. "I asked Sam. Manuel just had a health checkup last month, and his physical condition was fine. His blood pressure, blood sugar, and everything else have always been well controlled."
"But Joe couldn't find any suspicious information on the Sylvanor side either. Still, I'll have someone keep an eye on Cecilia's side."
As for Manuel leaving almost all of the Robinson Group and the Robinson family assets to Tommy and Jane, thinking about this approach of Manuel's, Timothy's lips curved into a faint cold smile. This was very much Manuel's style.
At that moment, at The Robinson Mansion.
After personally putting Jane to sleep, Cecilia went to the next room to check on Tommy.
Seeing him playing games, she smiled and closed the door to let him play.
Then Cecilia went to the study to video call Armando.
"Armando, are you outside?" Through her phone screen, Cecilia saw that Armando seemed to be sitting at a bus stop.
It was raining heavily in Silverlight City tonight.
Armando, wearing Bluetooth earbuds and listening to the rain, replied, "Grandma, I'm at the bus stop waiting for the bus. There's no one else here right now."
Cecilia's face instantly turned cold. Her grandson Armando actually had to wait for a bus on a rainy night.
"This late at night, did Brynn kick you out?"
Hearing Brynn's name, a flash of disgust crossed Armando's eyes. He smiled faintly and urged Cecilia not to be angry. "Grandma, don't be angry. I'll be more comfortable staying at a hotel anyway."
Brynn had long stopped caring about Armando's dignity at all.
Cecilia took a deep breath. "True, a woman like Brynn is better off without. I've already prepared a new foreign identity for you. After some time, find a way to leave the country and start fresh."
Armando nodded. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Should I delay going abroad? I'm worried that Timothy might be suspicious about Manuel's death. Grandma, you need to be careful."
Cecilia smiled slightly and said gently, "No need to delay. Leave the Potts family and go abroad as soon as possible. Let Timothy be suspicious if he wants - there's no evidence proving I harmed anyone anyway."
Cecilia continued with a cold laugh, "Next week I'll take Tommy and Jane to Sylvanor. I'll 'cultivate' Tommy and Jane properly then. I don't believe Timothy will keep sending people to investigate me for ten years straight."
"After five or six years, we can slowly transfer the Robinson family assets. As for the Robinson Group, when Tommy can't manage it, our Sloane can manage the Robinson Group for him."
Timothy had caused her grandson Armando to lose the Johnson Group and made Armando live humbly all these years - let him compensate with everything from the Robinson family!
Hearing Cecilia's words, Armando only felt grateful and admiring, though he was worried about one thing. "What if Timothy takes Tommy and Jane to raise himself? If so, our plan will fail."
Cecilia smiled. "He can't possibly take Tommy and Jane to raise. Have you forgotten about Elizabeth? Timothy would never let Elizabeth suffer that kind of grievance."
Hearing Elizabeth's name, Armando lowered his eyes to hide a flash of darkness.
"Grandma, I understand. I'll arrange to go abroad as soon as possible," Armando smiled coolly. "There's one more thing we can use - Seraphina isn't dead, though she should be missing now."
"What?" Cecilia asked in shock. "Seraphina isn't dead?"
"I saw her in Silverlight City a while ago being taken into a car by a strange man," Armando suggested coldly. "We can use news about Seraphina to distract Elizabeth and Timothy's attention, so they won't have time to worry about our affairs."
Cecilia nodded slightly. "I'll handle this. Armando, I believe in you. You're our family's hope. Once you develop yourself in the future, we won't need to fear Timothy."
Armando smiled. He would never forget the humiliation Timothy brought him. He nodded. "Grandma, you take care of your health too."
After they hung up, Armando's bus arrived. He got on and went to check into a hotel.
On the other side, after Brynn kicked Armando out of the house, she was in a gloomy mood.
She found Armando more and more unpleasant.
Armando wasn't considerate at all.
She sat on the sofa, picked up her phone, and called Irvin.
On the other end, Irvin answered quickly. "Brynn."
Hearing Irvin's voice, Brynn inexplicably felt wronged. "Irvin, would you go out drinking with me?"
Today was her birthday, and Armando had forgotten.
Irvin looked at the heavy rain outside and hesitated before suggesting, "Brynn, how about coming to my place to drink? Don't worry, my sister is home too, so it won't be just the two of us."
Brynn hesitated after hearing Irvin's suggestion.
But thinking about how today was her birthday, and Armando not only didn't remember but also made her angry.
Brynn finally accepted Irvin's invitation. "Okay, I'll come to your place."
Brynn changed into a dress, put on makeup, grabbed her bag, and had a bodyguard drive her to Irvin's place.
That night she discovered that Irvin could do many things - he could cook well, fold flowers, paint, and even play guitar to cheer her up.
Brynn covered her rapidly beating heart. She slept at Irvin's place that night.
Irvin was very considerate and didn't touch her.
The next day, when Brynn opened the door to leave Irvin's place, the neighbor across the hall also opened their door.
Beatrix never expected to see Brynn walking out of the new neighbor's place when she opened her door.
"Brynn!" She glared at Irvin behind Brynn. "Well, well, so the homewrecker lives here too! You seduce a married man - aren't you ashamed of yourself as a grown man?"
Seeing Beatrix, Brynn's expression changed slightly, but she quickly recovered. "Mrs. Johnson, I'm divorcing Armando tomorrow!"
Now it was Armando who needed the Potts family, not the other way around. What did Brynn have to worry about?
Brynn nodded to Irvin. "I'm leaving. Don't bother with the lady across the hall. Call me if anything comes up."
Irvin smiled coolly. "Okay."
Seeing Brynn and Irvin, these two shameless people, completely ignore her, Beatrix directly blocked Brynn's path. "Did you spend the night here last night?"
Brynn wasn't afraid of Beatrix. She raised her chin with a cold laugh. "Move. Where I spend the night is none of your business. Don't forget, your son is working at the Potts Group now."
Beatrix's face turned ugly. If the Johnson Group still existed, who would dare treat them this way? "Brynn, you and Armando aren't divorced yet. What you're doing now is already cheating! Aren't you worried about your reputation?"
Brynn laughed as if she'd heard a joke. She covered her mouth and laughed, saying dismissively, "Do you dare spread this around? Armando would only be more embarrassed, wouldn't he?"
Hearing this, Beatrix felt angry but helpless - her son Armando would be mocked too.
Brynn's eyes showed contempt. Before leaving, she mocked coldly, "When your son Armando married Elizabeth before, didn't he still lovingly see his ex-girlfriend Sherry on the side? Armando cheated, so I'm learning from him and cheating too. How fair is that, right?"
Beatrix watched Brynn's arrogant departing figure, her chest heaving up and down with anger, unable to breathe smoothly.
Irvin nodded faintly at Beatrix, then turned and went back inside, closing the door.
Yesterday, following Lyle's instructions, Irvin had just moved here, and unexpectedly, first thing this morning, he witnessed such a scene.
