Chapter 317: I Want Her Life!
Maddox looked at his scratched face in the mirror.
Although only faint marks remained now, the wounds still made him very angry.
Wren's crazy behavior that day had made him lose face completely, especially since it happened at the family gathering.
Everyone saw how embarrassed he looked when he was attacked by Willow's grandmother Wren.
Whenever Maddox recalled that day's scene, anger would surge in his chest.
Although he had already sent someone to take Wren back to her hometown, it didn't calm his fury.
He couldn't swallow this insult.
Why would Wren insist that Hugo was arrested for doing things for Maddox? Elizabeth must be behind this, she must have manipulated everything.
Maddox really hated Elizabeth now.
Seraphina Enterprises' stock had been rising continuously during this time.
And since they had all sold their shares, they were mocked and ridiculed by other members of the Sherman family at the family gathering.
Now everyone was laughing at them behind their backs.
Willow quietly walked into the room and gently closed the door. She knew Maddox was angry right now and didn't dare to provoke him.
Maddox glanced at Willow and said coldly, "If it wasn't for your idiot brother, things wouldn't have turned out like this."
Willow bit her lip, also feeling resentful inside. Why did they have Hugo handle such a dangerous matter!
Maddox left the room. He had arranged to meet Chris and the others at the club today to discuss things.
They couldn't do anything to Elizabeth now, and could only watch as Seraphina Enterprises' development gradually improved.
This naturally made them feel terrible.
At this moment, in the club, Chris and the others were already waiting for Maddox.
Otha said coldly and irritably, "What's this meeting about today?"
Rocco glanced at Otha but didn't say anything.
They had all followed Maddox's advice and sold their company shares, and now each of them felt unhappy about it.
Maddox pushed the door open and walked into the club, seeing his cousins already waiting there.
He had just sat down on the sofa when he heard Otha ask sarcastically, "What do you want from us this time?"
Maddox frowned, "What's with that tone?"
Otha sneered, "Normal tone."
Maddox knew that Otha and the others had issues with him because of selling the shares.
He looked at Otha coldly and said, "I'll be direct. I called you here today about getting revenge on Elizabeth."
Chris raised his eyebrows, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes, "Revenge on Elizabeth? What exactly do you want to do? We haven't gotten anything good from Elizabeth these past few times."
Maddox snorted coldly, "She's doing so well now, Seraphina Enterprises' stock price is still rising. I really can't swallow this insult."
Chris said "oh" and asked curiously, "Maddox, what's your plan?"
Maddox smiled slightly, a cold gleam in his eyes, "I want her dead!"
Chris and the others looked at each other.
Hearing this, Chris showed a slight smile, "In that case, we need to plan this carefully."
Chris actively discussed with Maddox how to take Elizabeth's life.
They discussed for a while and settled on a vicious plan.
Otha didn't participate in their planning, while Rocco occasionally added a suggestion.
After the gathering ended, Maddox and the others went home separately, while Otha got in his car and immediately sent a message to Jacob.
[Mr. Grant, I have important information to sell to Elizabeth. It concerns her life, worth two billion dollars]
The next morning, Elizabeth saw the message Otha sent to Jacob on the phone Jacob handed her.
"My life is worth two billion dollars, I'm so pleased," she smiled and looked up at Jacob, "Mr. Grant, well done this time. Why did Otha come to you to sell information so quickly?"
Jacob smiled, "Otha likes to gamble, and he's lost almost all the money from selling his shares."
Jacob had a hand in designing this too, otherwise Otha wouldn't have lost his money so quickly.
Elizabeth nodded, "Two billion dollars, agree to it."
Jacob said yes and immediately went to arrange the transaction.
After Jacob left the office, Elizabeth buried herself in work. As for what Otha mentioned about her life being at stake, she wasn't in a hurry.
Delilah was flying back to Solstice tomorrow. She had already given up hope of seeing Timothy before leaving Border Ridge City.
But unexpectedly, things took a turn.
Around noon today, when she went to the hospital to say goodbye to Owen and Sarah, she ran into Joe, who had come to visit Owen.
"Mr. Watson, thank you for coming to see my grandfather." Sarah said politely.
Joe smiled, "I've already asked the doctor. Owen's recovery after surgery is going well." Seeing Sarah looking a bit tired, he suggested, "Ms. Palmer, you could hire a caregiver to help."
Sarah was surprised by Joe's thoughtfulness. She nodded, "I'm also planning to hire a caregiver, I'm looking for someone."
Joe didn't stay long. Seeing everything was fine, he said goodbye and left.
Delilah saw Joe leaving the room and followed him.
Sarah saw Delilah following Joe out of the room. Sarah frowned, a trace of worry in her eyes.
Delilah jogged to catch up with Joe, "Mr. Watson, could you spare me a few minutes?"
Joe stopped and turned to look at Delilah with confusion, "Ms. McCoy, what is it?"
Delilah encouraged herself and gathered her courage to say, "I have something I'd like to ask your help with."
Joe listened patiently and nodded, "Please go ahead."
Delilah nervously gripped her bag, her voice slightly trembling, "I'd like to meet Mr. Robinson once. Is that possible?"
Joe didn't answer immediately. He looked Delilah over and smiled, "May I ask what you need to see Mr. Robinson about?"
Delilah could tell from Joe's words that he was being evasive. She said urgently, "I have some things I want to say to Mr. Robinson personally, or even just a few words on the phone would be fine."
