Chapter 304: Her Mouth Is Really Sweet
"According to Mr. Nightingale's will, his estate will be distributed as follows."
Tristan cleared his throat and began reading.
"Five percent of the Nightingale Group shares will go to his wife Freya, thirty percent to his daughter Elizabeth, five percent to Herschel, and the remaining assets will be split equally between his wife and daughter."
Hearing this distribution, Freya's expression changed slightly, though she said nothing, while Herschel nodded calmly.
Elizabeth was a bit surprised. She hadn't expected Russell to leave her so many shares.
After finishing reading the will, Tristan looked up at everyone present. "This is Mr. Nightingale's will. If no one has any objections, we'll begin processing the inheritance procedures."
Freya nodded with a faint smile. "I have no problem with this. This was my husband's decision, and I'll respect it."
Herschel also nodded in agreement. "I have no problem either."
Just then, Elizabeth spoke up. "I'm giving up my inheritance rights. Please give the shares and assets to Mrs. Nightingale."
Elizabeth's words stunned everyone present.
Herschel looked at Elizabeth with some surprise.
Freya's face immediately darkened. "Elizabeth, no matter what, this is your father's wish for you."
Elizabeth's expression remained calm as she said, "I won't take anything from the Nightingale family."
Freya suddenly felt a tightness in her chest. Elizabeth was so determined not to have any connection with the Nightingale family!
Tristan was also stunned for a moment. After all, this wasn't a small amount of assets. He confirmed, "Ms. Penrose, are you sure you want to give up your inheritance rights? You need to think this through carefully."
Elizabeth nodded firmly. "Yes, I'm sure."
Freya's face turned cold, and she said nothing more.
Herschel frowned. He hadn't expected Elizabeth's attitude to be so firm.
Tristan nodded. Since none of them had any issues, he needed to process the documents to transfer Elizabeth's shares and assets to Freya.
Once all the documents were processed and Freya and the others had signed, everything was done.
Elizabeth stood up, nodded slightly in acknowledgment, and left the law office first.
She got in the car and instructed Jacob, "Drive straight back to the office."
Freya stood on the steps, watching Elizabeth get in the car with mixed feelings, her heart in turmoil.
Herschel stayed by Freya's side and said softly, "Freya, let me take you home."
Freya came back to her senses and nodded. "Okay."
The car drove steadily on the road back to the office.
Freya sat in the car, looking somewhat sad. "Herschel, her giving up the inheritance rights surprised me and made me feel sad."
Herschel didn't know how to comfort Freya for a moment.
He could only suggest, "Freya, you can give the shares and assets to Elizabeth later."
Freya was silent for a while, then sighed softly. "Okay."
Herschel saw that Freya was in a bad mood and worried it would affect her health.
So after taking Freya back to The Nightingale Mansion, he took out his phone and called Juniper.
Juniper was very happy to receive a call from her fiancé Herschel and answered immediately. "Herschel, what's up?"
Herschel's voice came through the phone. "Juniper, are you free right now?"
Juniper was currently getting her hair permed. Although she wasn't free, Herschel rarely called to ask if she was available.
She immediately responded, "I'm free."
She couldn't help feeling happy, guessing that Herschel wanted to ask her out for dinner.
Juniper couldn't contain her happiness.
Just then, Herschel on the other end said, "If you're free, please do me a favor. Freya's not in a good mood today. I'd like you to go to The Nightingale Mansion and keep her company."
Juniper's smile immediately faded, and she felt a bit disappointed: so it was for the sickly Freya.
Juniper quickly pretended to ask with concern, "What happened? I'll head over right away."
Herschel thanked her in a low voice. "Thank you. Freya's feeling down today because of Elizabeth. Please chat with her."
Juniper felt a bit unwilling to comfort Freya, but she also understood that Freya was an important family member to Herschel.
"Don't worry, I'll get there as soon as I can."
After hanging up, Juniper asked the hairstylist to finish her hair quickly and stopped the perm for now.
She hurried to The Nightingale Mansion.
Upon arriving at The Nightingale Mansion, Juniper walked into the living room.
Seeing that Maeve wasn't there and only Freya was sitting on the living room sofa, Juniper smiled. "Freya."
Freya looked up and saw Juniper, a bit surprised, and asked with a smile, "Juniper, what brings you here so suddenly?"
Juniper sat down next to Freya and blinked playfully. "I missed you."
Freya was amused by Juniper, and the worry on her face eased a bit. "You sweet-talker."
Juniper laughed. "I want you to help me choose a wedding dress. There are so many dresses, and I like every single one. What should I do?"
Hearing this, Freya's smile grew more obvious. "This is a big deal. Of course you need to choose carefully."
Juniper nodded. She opened her tablet and showed Freya photos of wedding dresses. "Freya, take a look."
Freya carefully helped Juniper choose wedding dresses, temporarily putting Elizabeth's matter out of her mind.
"How about this one?" Freya pointed to a lace wedding dress with a simple yet playful design.
Juniper looked at it carefully and said happily, "I think this one works too! Freya, you have such great taste."
Freya looked at her with amusement. "Did Herschel ask you to come?"
Juniper let out an "ah" and gave a thumbs up. "Freya is so smart. Herschel just wanted me to come keep you company."
Freya sighed. "You're both good kids."
How was it that she and Elizabeth seemed naturally at odds? Mother and daughter just couldn't get along.
Juniper asked carefully, "Freya, what happened? Did Elizabeth upset you?"
Freya smiled bitterly. "Elizabeth gave up all inheritance rights to the Nightingale family. It's my fault. I've made my daughter hate me to this extent."
Juniper's breath caught, her heart surging with emotion. It was about inheritance rights.
Elizabeth had actually given up her inheritance rights!
At that moment, Juniper almost wanted to celebrate by setting off firecrackers.
Juniper tried hard to control her happy feelings and comforted her softly, "Freya, maybe one day Elizabeth will come around."
