Chapter 287 Seeing Seraphina's Figure
Alfonso carried Mabel and quickly headed for the exit.
Timothy's bodyguards swiftly blocked Alfonso's bodyguards.
Alfonso looked at Timothy and Elizabeth, holding Mabel tightly, his voice cold. "You want to stop me?"
Elizabeth said calmly, "If Mabel is willing to go with you, we won't stop you."
At the mention of "willing," Alfonso snorted coldly. "Don't try to fool me. She was already willing to marry someone else. What's between us can't be explained in just a few words."
Both sides refused to back down.
Alfonso lowered his head, leaning close to Mabel's ear, his voice low. "Mabel Darling, if you don't come with me to Avalonia, I won't go either. I'll stay here with you."
Mabel lifted her eyelids and frowned. "Aren't you supposed to go find Sophia?"
Alfonso smiled slightly. "If you don't go, I won't go."
Mabel knew Alfonso was using her guilt against her.
Mabel felt guilty toward Sophia because of what Jerald and Arabella had done. If something happened to Sophia this time, and Alfonso's search was delayed because of Mabel, she probably couldn't handle the guilt.
Alfonso didn't want to threaten Mabel like this, but if he didn't, he definitely couldn't take her with him today.
Mabel sighed helplessly. She turned to look at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, I'll go to Avalonia with him. I'll contact Albert to handle things with the Sanchez family."
Elizabeth's eyes were full of worry, but she knew Mabel had made her decision. "Mabel, if you need help, contact us anytime."
Mabel nodded. "Okay, I will."
After Timothy's bodyguards stepped aside, Alfonso quickly left carrying Mabel.
After the two got in the car, it quickly drove away from the wedding venue.
In the car, Mabel didn't want to talk to Alfonso at first, but seeing Silas sitting by the window, she couldn't help asking, "Where did you get this kid? He looks a lot like you."
Silas smiled sweetly at Mabel and said in a childish voice, "Mommy, my name is Silas Carr."
Mabel corrected him seriously. "I'm not your mommy."
Silas looked like he was about to cry. "Doesn't Mommy like me?"
Mabel quickly shook her head. "Silas is very handsome. I like you very much."
She firmly refused to admit she was his mother.
Only then did Alfonso explain, "He's adopted."
Because Silas was there, Mabel didn't ask more questions after hearing about the adoption.
After Mabel left with Alfonso, Timothy crouched in front of Elizabeth. "Worried?"
Elizabeth nodded. "A little, but their issues need to be resolved by themselves. At most, we can help when Mabel needs us."
Timothy smiled. "Let's go back to the hospital. You can be discharged next week. After you're discharged, remember to take good care of yourself."
After she was discharged, he'd probably have to return to Solstice.
Elizabeth responded, "Okay."
The next day, Jacob brought the investigation materials to the hospital to see Elizabeth.
"We took samples of the electrical products purchased from the authorized distributor for testing. The test results show the appliances are counterfeit, and the components inside the boards are also problematic. This is the test report."
Jacob handed Elizabeth a detailed test report.
"Also, this document is from Robbie for you."
Elizabeth took the report and documents. As she carefully looked through them, her frown deepened. "These counterfeits will not only damage the company's reputation but also cause financial losses to customers, and even create safety hazards."
She closed the report and looked at the documents, her eyes cold. "Did you dig up any information from the previous procurement team? Who exactly chose Luminary Agency as the distributor?"
Jacob said, "We haven't gotten any useful information yet. Also, the procurement manager who was mainly responsible has already left the country. We heard he went abroad to develop his career a year ago, and we don't know where he is now."
Elizabeth looked up and sneered. "What a clever scheme."
She suddenly thought about Chris and the others wanting to sell their shares. Could it be related to this investigation?
Of course, this was just Elizabeth's guess for now.
"Keep investigating that procurement manager and see where he ran off to. At the same time, check the detailed background of the authorized distributor and see if this company has had any contact with Maddox and the others."
Jacob nodded.
Elizabeth had originally planned to meet with Chris and the others today to discuss buying their shares, but now she decided to wait.
She told Timothy her thoughts, and Timothy agreed with her approach.
Jacob looked at the rapport between Elizabeth and Timothy with some disappointment. He lowered his head, quietly packed up his laptop, and left quickly.
After Jacob left, Timothy took a fruit knife and peeled an apple for Elizabeth.
Elizabeth sat on the sofa, watching Timothy peel the apple. "Mr. Robinson, your hair seems a bit long? Should I tie it up for you?"
Timothy imagined himself with a little ponytail on his head, shook his head, and refused. "No need, thank you."
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow and said softly, "But I want to."
A minute later, Timothy sat on a small stool looking wronged, with Elizabeth sitting behind him.
Her fingers gently ran through his hair.
The little ponytail was actually easy to tie and was done quickly.
Some men don't look good with a ponytail, but Timothy with a ponytail still had sharp, defined features.
Elizabeth looked him over, then took several photos of Timothy with the ponytail on her phone.
"Done."
Timothy, as if hearing a pardon, quickly put away the small stool and went to wash his hands and peel the apple.
He didn't take down the ponytail on his head.
Elizabeth looked at the photos on her phone and smiled secretly, then opened Facebook to reply to messages from several managers.
Timothy cut the apple into small pieces and fed them to Elizabeth with a fork.
Elizabeth ate the apple while quickly discussing business with the managers.
After handling these messages, she browsed Facebook.
She saw that Sarah had posted something yesterday - a video of Sarah's grandfather.
Elizabeth curiously clicked on the video of Sarah's grandfather.
"Timothy!" Elizabeth quickly chewed and swallowed the apple in her mouth. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes. She turned her phone to show Timothy. "Quick, look! Is that Seraphina?"
Seeing Elizabeth's excited reaction, Timothy immediately put down the plate of apples. He took the phone and carefully watched the video of Sarah's grandfather.
In the video, Rolf Tackett was forcibly dragging a crying Seraphina. Their figures flashed briefly across the screen.
They were accidentally caught in the background.
Seraphina's figure was deeply imprinted in Elizabeth and Timothy's hearts.
Timothy played it again. His heart raced, a flash of surprise and excitement in his eyes, along with more heartache.
"It's Seraphina!" Timothy confirmed, his voice trembling with excitement. "That figure is exactly like our Seraphina."
Hearing Timothy's confirmation, Elizabeth gripped his hand tightly, her lips trembling. "Seraphina, she's still alive. I'll call Sarah right away and ask her where the video was filmed."
Elizabeth was so excited that her hand holding the phone was shaking badly.
In the video, Rolf was forcibly dragging Seraphina.
Elizabeth wanted nothing more than to kill Rolf.
Sarah's voice came through the Facebook call. "Ms. Penrose, hello, how can I help you?"
"Ms. Palmer, the video in the Facebook post you made yesterday - where was it filmed?" Elizabeth tried to keep her voice calm, but her urgency was still audible.
Sarah paused, then answered, "That was filmed in our town, Pineville. Let me check the specific location and send it to you."
Elizabeth roughly wiped away her tears. "Ms. Palmer, I owe you a favor. If you ever need help in the future, you can come to me."
Sarah thanked her and hung up, puzzled.
She rarely visited the town, so she didn't know the exact street. She messaged a friend in town to ask, and once she got the address, she sent it to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth received the address from Sarah. She didn't want to delay for even a moment.
Timothy held Elizabeth's still-trembling hand with one hand, calming her down, while quickly making a call to arrange a plane.
