Chapter 286 She Knows Everything
Alfonso was working hard to turn on his charm.
He knew what Mabel liked.
His movements looked completely natural.
Mabel had no idea about Alfonso's little trick of using his good looks to seduce her.
Alfonso still wore a gentle smile on his face, but his eyes were cold. "Mabel, I don't care who you marry, but to get rid of me, you'd rather choose to marry a guy who plays around with women? You're really heartless."
Alfonso sat on the sofa, staring at Mabel with an almost overwhelming presence.
Facing Alfonso's cold gaze, Mabel felt a bit weak inside, but she didn't show it on her face.
She said calmly, "Alfonso, no matter what you think, this is my choice. I have the right to decide who I want to marry."
Alfonso stood up, narrowing his eyes slightly as he walked toward Mabel.
Mabel took a step back, but Alfonso reached out and wrapped his arm around her waist, stopping her from retreating.
His smile was gentle. "Mabel Darling, don't say such hurtful things. Can you honestly say you don't love me?"
Mabel looked straight at him, her eyes unwavering. "I just hope you understand that continuing to pester me will only make everyone more miserable. I've made up my mind to start a new life. You should let go too, and give both of us a chance to find real happiness."
Listen to how well Mabel put that.
Alfonso grabbed Mabel's chin and looked at her carefully, then snorted coldly. "Real happiness? You think you'll be happy with Albert? He's just a useless playboy. You think he'll really treat you well?"
Alfonso's hand moved down from her chin, then around to her back, stopping at the zipper of her wedding dress.
A flash of pain crossed Alfonso's eyes, but it quickly disappeared. He said coldly, "Tell me the truth. Why are you suddenly marrying someone else?"
His fingers had already pulled down her wedding dress zipper, full of threatening intent.
He hated the wedding dress she was wearing—this dress was meant for Albert.
At this thought, Alfonso's expression became even darker. "Mabel Darling, I always thought you just needed time to accept me, but I never imagined you'd use marriage to force me to let go."
Her dress zipper was already pulled down.
His cool fingers touched her delicate skin.
He turned her around, leaned down, and bit her back directly.
Mabel gasped. "It's not me forcing you to let go. The problems between us have always existed. Your mother will never agree to us being together, and I've wronged both you and Sophia."
Alfonso's kissing and biting suddenly stopped. So that's it. His eyelashes trembled slightly. "So you know."
He stopped biting Mabel's back.
No wonder she was so determined to marry someone else, so ruthless in cutting off any possibility of them being together.
Maya would probably never accept Mabel in this lifetime, and with Mabel's personality, she would feel even more guilty toward Sophia.
He had never wanted to tell Mabel what happened back then because he was afraid she would feel guilty.
Actually, Mabel had received another message from Sophia last night.
It turned out that after Alfonso and Sophia were set up by her parents Jerald and Arabella back then, Sophia had gotten pregnant.
Thinking about this, Mabel smiled bitterly. What Jerald and Arabella did was really terrible.
"I'm sorry about what happened back then." Mabel's eyes reddened slightly. She had hurt Alfonso and Sophia, and what was even more ridiculous was that she had been tricked by Jerald and Arabella into believing that Alfonso had taken money from the Simpson family and left her.
Now that Mabel knew the truth, how could she still be naive enough to continue a relationship with Alfonso?
Alfonso sighed. The thing he didn't want Mabel to know, she still found out.
He looked down and guessed, "Did my mother tell you?"
Maya pretending to faint this time to trick him into returning to Avalonia was probably to buy Mabel time to get married.
Mabel didn't want to cause conflict between Maya and Alfonso, so she shook her head. "It wasn't Ms. Coleman. My parents told me."
Alfonso chuckled softly. "Don't lie to me. My mother has been pretending to be sick lately, so I figured it out. Mabel Darling, what happened in the past is already over. Can we both just look forward?"
Just then, there was urgent knocking at the door.
Alfonso frowned. Something must have happened, otherwise no one would disturb them at a time like this.
He zipped up her wedding dress again and kept his arm around Mabel's waist. "Come in."
He turned to look at the bodyguard who walked in.
The bodyguard looked at Mabel.
Alfonso said, "Just say it."
Meaning Mabel could hear.
The bodyguard said respectfully, "Mr. Carr, Ms. Sophia Torres has disappeared. Witnesses saw her being forcibly pulled into a car."
Alfonso instinctively looked at Mabel.
Mabel poked him. "Why are you looking at me? We can talk about our stuff later. Let go of me. You need to go find her first."
Alfonso didn't say much more. No matter what, he had to find her first. He released Mabel's waist.
"Arrange a flight back to Avalonia," Alfonso said to the bodyguard.
The bodyguard nodded and quickly left the lounge.
Alfonso looked down at Mabel and said in a low voice, "Mabel Darling, I'm sorry."
Just as Mabel was wondering why he was suddenly apologizing, he picked her up directly.
Mabel's eyes widened. "Wait, what are you doing?"
Alfonso carried her quickly out of the lounge. "Taking you to Avalonia. I can't let you stay here anymore."
Mabel was instantly stunned. She struggled hard. "I'm not going! You go find her. Why are you taking me?"
Alfonso ignored her protests and held her tighter, threatening, "If you don't want to fall to the ground and hurt yourself, stop struggling. Otherwise, I'll let you fall and become stupid. Stupid people are much more obedient."
