Chapter 275 Sabotage
For the sake of her good friend, Delilah mustered up the courage to stop Timothy.
"Boss, I'm an employee of the ElizaTimo Group, and also a good friend of your wife."
Seeing Timothy's stern expression, Delilah still braced herself and said, "I'd like to talk to you."
"You know my wife?" Timothy glanced at Delilah indifferently, looking puzzled.
"Yes, your wife is my good friend." Delilah nodded with certainty.
Timothy responded coldly, "What do you want?"
"My name is Delilah, and I want to talk to you about something today." Delilah was actually very nervous inside.
Timothy checked the time and told Delilah to make it quick.
"Has my friend been in the hospital all this time, and you haven't even visited her?" Delilah looked up at Timothy. "While she's been injured and hospitalized, instead of taking care of her, you've been taking care of another woman."
Delilah felt it was unfair to her good friend Sarah.
Timothy glanced at Delilah indifferently. "You've got the wrong person."
After saying that, he walked into the hospital.
The bodyguard immediately blocked Delilah.
"Wait!" Delilah wanted to chase after him but was stopped by Joe.
Joe stayed behind to handle the situation with Delilah.
Seeing Timothy leave just like that, Delilah was so angry she stamped her foot. This was a public place, so she couldn't curse without class.
Joe stood in front of Delilah, smiling. "Ms. Clark, if there's anything, you can tell me. Our boss is very busy."
Delilah rolled her eyes and sneered, "Busy visiting another woman while ignoring his own woman."
Joe's lips curved into a faint smile, his eyes slightly cold. "What exactly are you talking about?"
He suspected Delilah had some kind of problem.
Delilah said indignantly, "Exactly what I said. Can't you understand?"
Joe frowned slightly. "Ms. Clark, our boss just went to take care of his woman. Are you misunderstanding something? What's the name of the boss's wife you're talking about?"
Joe had a vague suspicion.
Delilah was stunned, clearly finding it hard to believe. "What did you say? My good friend is named Sarah. The ring Mr. Robinson is wearing is obviously a matching pair with the ring my friend has."
This was also why Delilah never believed Sarah when she said she didn't know Timothy.
When Joe heard the name 'Sarah,' a strange expression appeared on his face.
He didn't expect this kind of misunderstanding could happen.
He just didn't know if the other party did this on purpose.
Joe smiled. "Ms. Clark, take me to see Ms. Palmer. Some things are better discussed face to face."
Hearing Joe's words, Delilah's face showed a hint of suspicion, but she still nodded. "Okay, I'll take you to see Sarah."
The two took the elevator together to the regular ward.
Delilah led Joe into the hospital room.
"Sarah." Delilah called out.
Sarah looked up and saw Joe standing next to Delilah. She froze for a moment. "Why are you here?"
Joe said in a refined and composed manner, "Ms. Palmer, your friend here clearly misunderstood that you have a relationship with Mr. Robinson. I think it's better to clarify some things face to face."
Sarah looked at Delilah with a helpless expression. "Delilah, I'm really not the boss's wife."
Delilah finally caught on. "Really not? Don't you have a ring that matches Mr. Robinson's? And at the company birthday party, you and Mr. Robinson..."
Sarah shook her head. "That ring isn't mine. I picked it up at the entrance the day we went to eat at Opal Moon restaurant."
Joe kindly explained and warned, "The boss's wife's name might indeed sound somewhat similar to Ms. Palmer's name, but it's not Ms. Palmer."
A moment of silence.
Delilah laughed awkwardly. "I'm sorry, I misunderstood."
Joe nodded lightly. "Well, now that the misunderstanding is cleared up, I should go back and report to Mr. Robinson. I hope this kind of misunderstanding won't continue in the future."
He turned to leave the room, but suddenly Sarah called out to him. "Mr. Watson, was I transferred from the secretary department also because my name sounds similar to Mrs. Robinson's name?"
Joe raised his eyebrows. He turned back and looked Sarah over. "Ms. Palmer is very smart. See, didn't your friend just misunderstand that you were involved with the boss?"
He turned and walked out of the room.
Sarah and Delilah looked at each other.
Delilah sighed. "Sarah, I'm sorry."
Sarah smiled helplessly. "It's okay, you were just concerned about me. Should I change companies? There are also rumors in the company that I'm Mr. Robinson's wife. After this happened, Mr. Robinson probably won't let me continue working at the company, right?"
The ElizaTimo Group had great benefits in all aspects. She had worked so hard to pass the interview. Sarah was actually a bit reluctant to leave.
After Joe left the room, he cautiously had someone investigate the internal news at the ElizaTimo Group.
He didn't expect that rumors about Timothy's wife being at the company were actually circulating within the ElizaTimo Group.
He immediately had Dennis handle the internal rumor issue and also had Dennis issue an announcement.
As for whether Sarah could continue to stay at the company, that required Timothy's decision.
Joe knocked on the door and entered the room. He waited until Timothy and Elizabeth finished discussing business before briefly reporting what had just happened.
After hearing about this dramatic misunderstanding, Elizabeth looked at Timothy with amusement. "You're not planning to fire Ms. Palmer, are you?"
Timothy raised his eyebrows and said coldly, "Yes."
Elizabeth shook her head, her tone calm. "Has Joe investigated Ms. Palmer? If it wasn't intentional, there's no need to fire her. Of course, it's best to investigate again."
Joe nodded. "I had someone investigate Ms. Palmer before. Her social circle is very simple. She's lived with her grandfather since childhood. I'll have someone investigate again."
Elizabeth nodded.
At the same time.
The ElizaTimo Group also issued an internal statement.
After the announcement was released, the internal rumors were quickly suppressed.
So Timothy's wife didn't work at the company after all.
After learning that the company had issued a statement, Sarah breathed a sigh of relief. Now she just had to wait and see if the company would fire her.
Delilah looked miserable. "I offended the boss. I probably can't continue working at this company either, right?"
The two of them sighed at the same time.
To help Delilah relax, Sarah said quietly, "Actually, I like the refined type like Mr. Watson."
But Sarah knew her own situation. Her conditions weren't great, and Joe looked like someone with very good conditions.
Timothy, on the other hand, seemed too cold.
Timothy found several men of suitable age in their circle for Mabel and let her choose.
It was called an arranged marriage, but it was actually dating first.
Only if both parties felt it could work would there be subsequent marriage matters.
After looking through her options, Mabel finally chose Albert from the Sanchez family.
When Elizabeth heard this news, she immediately felt a headache coming on. She called and asked her to come over.
"Mabel, why would you choose him? His reputation in the circle isn't good." Elizabeth frowned and said to Mabel.
Albert liked beautiful women and changed girlfriends like changing clothes. This kind of person didn't seem like a good choice at all.
Mabel smiled, her tone relaxed. "Elizabeth, he can do his thing, I won't interfere. I just want the status of being the wife of the Sanchez family."
Elizabeth still felt it was inappropriate. "Mabel, choose again. After marriage, if you meet someone good, you can slowly develop feelings and live a good life together."
Mabel still insisted on choosing Albert, her mind made up.
Elizabeth had no way to deal with her. "As long as you don't regret it."
Alfonso, still in Border Ridge City, used his connections and finally found out that Mabel had gone to Solstice.
He quickly booked a flight to Solstice to find her.
Solstice Airport.
The flight from Border Ridge City to Solstice had landed.
Alfonso walked out of the airport and called a local friend to arrange for a vehicle.
He checked into a hotel first, freshened up, and then went to the hospital to wait for Mabel.
In the hospital, the air was filled with the smell of disinfectant.
When Alfonso saw Mabel coming out of the hospital room, a hint of tenderness flashed in his eyes. "Mabel."
Mabel was momentarily stunned when she saw Alfonso, but not surprised.
A flash of complex emotions crossed her eyes. She avoided his gaze and said indifferently, "Looking for me?"
She couldn't let Alfonso know right now about her arranged marriage with Albert.
Otherwise, Alfonso would definitely try every way possible to sabotage it.
