Chapter 264 Alfonso is a Jerk
After listening to Eric, Elizabeth fell silent for a moment, then said calmly, "I understand. I'll arrange to go to Solstice next Wednesday."
"Ms. Penrose, see you then." Eric hung up the phone.
After hanging up, Elizabeth stared at her phone in a daze for a while.
The ElizaTimo Group?
Elizabeth rubbed her temples.
She called Robbie, "Robbie, I need to go to Solstice next Wednesday for the Ascend Global Tech Summit. Help me arrange the trip."
Robbie immediately responded, "Yes, Chairwoman Penrose. I'll arrange it right away. Will Jacob and I both go to Solstice with you?"
Elizabeth thought for a moment, "You stay in the country and keep an eye on those people from the Sherman family for me. Also pay attention to what's happening with Maddox. Mr. Grant will come with me to Solstice."
She didn't trust those Sherman family members to behave themselves.
"Okay, I'll arrange it now."
They hung up.
Elizabeth had invited Mabel over for dinner tonight. She was now busy dealing with urgent matters first, then went home at five.
At six o'clock, Mabel arrived at Elizabeth's house right on time.
She brought several bottles of red wine, cheerful and excited, "Elizabeth, I'm here."
Elizabeth smiled and took the wine, welcoming her inside. She looked behind Mabel, and not seeing Alfonso, felt a bit strange.
"Where's Alfonso? I thought he'd come with you." Elizabeth closed the door and asked casually.
Mabel changed her shoes and turned to look at Elizabeth, "He went back. His mom fell down the stairs."
"How is she?" Elizabeth walked to the living room, put down the wine bottles, and asked with concern.
Mabel shrugged, looking somewhat helpless, "I don't know. I sent him a message yesterday, but he didn't reply."
That message was like a stone dropped in the ocean.
"Don't worry, maybe he's busy dealing with family matters."
"Who's worried? I'm not worried about him." Mabel was instantly defensive.
"Okay, you're not worried about him."
Mabel first toured Elizabeth's new home on her own, then went to the kitchen after finishing.
Elizabeth planned to simply cook three dishes and a soup tonight.
Mabel watched Elizabeth skillfully stir-frying and adding seasonings, sighing, "Why don't I have any talent for this?"
"Mr. Robinson doesn't have any talent either." Elizabeth said this without thinking.
The kitchen fell silent for a moment.
Mabel lowered her head, looking at the slippers on her feet, finally couldn't help but ask, "Elizabeth, why can't you and Mr. Robinson just live together happily?"
Finally married, then divorced again.
They clearly loved each other so much.
Elizabeth paused in her motion of sprinkling salt into the dish, then said carelessly, "I can't get past this in my heart."
Seraphina was gone, and they both should be punished.
Actually, she probably did resent Timothy a bit, resented that he hadn't protected Seraphina well.
This topic was too heavy.
Mabel changed to another topic, "Elizabeth, is work at the company very busy?"
"It's okay, it's just that I've just taken over, so there are many things that need handling." Elizabeth answered, skillfully holding the spatula and stir-frying.
Mabel nodded. She hesitated, "You're amazing. Should I also find something to do?"
Her parents Jerald and Arabella were in Border Ridge City. Mabel was afraid that if she opened a shop, they would find out and shamelessly come make trouble.
"What do you want to do?" Elizabeth asked.
Mabel thought seriously, "I'll open a pet store?"
Then she could keep snakes in the pet store, and Jerald and Arabella wouldn't dare come make trouble.
"If you want to open one, go ahead. I support you completely," Elizabeth pointed at the finished dish, "Done, take this dish out."
"Okay."
During dinner, they opened a bottle of red wine, just drinking a little.
"Here's to us, living our lives with effort." Elizabeth raised her glass, smiling at Mabel.
"To us." Mabel smiled and raised her glass, gently clinking it against Elizabeth's.
"By the way, I'm going to Solstice next Wednesday for a tech summit." Elizabeth said while eating her food.
"Solstice?"
"Yes."
Mabel didn't mention Timothy.
It wasn't until after dinner ended and Mabel left Elizabeth's house to return to her own place that she took out her phone and called Timothy.
"Mr. Robinson, Elizabeth is going to Solstice next Wednesday. Did you know about this?"
Timothy leaned back in his chair, looking out the window, and replied briefly, "I know."
"So you knew." Mabel quietly hung up the phone.
As expected, Timothy knew.
Just as Mabel hung up, another call came in. The caller ID showed Alfonso's number.
She pressed her lips together, but still answered.
After the call connected, before Mabel could speak, she heard a woman and man talking on Alfonso's end.
The man's voice, Mabel naturally recognized as Alfonso's.
As for the woman's voice, Mabel couldn't identify it at first, until Alfonso called the woman by her surname.
"Alfonso, the kitten seems sick. Take it to the vet, or Ms. Coleman won't let you off when she gets back."
"I'll take it later. Ms. Torres, what's in this bag?"
"Things to take to the hospital for Ms. Coleman. I'll go to the hospital later."
Mabel listened to a few sentences in a daze, then hung up the phone, a strange emotion rising in her heart.
She stood there, gripping her phone, the conversation from the call echoing continuously in her mind.
Sophia?
Mabel was caught off guard.
So Sophia was still by his side. From the tone of their conversation, they seemed quite familiar.
That Sophia who had once had an intimate relationship with Alfonso.
Mabel showed a smile that looked worse than crying.
Alfonso, that bastard!
