Chapter 252 Let's Divorce

Chapter 252 Let's Divorce

Suddenly, a massive explosion rang out, and the castle gate was blown open.

Elara's car burst through the gate, speeding away.

The bodyguards quickly got in their cars and gave chase, trying to intercept Elara's escape.

Timothy received a call from the bodyguards right away, his face darkening.

Jane, who had been clinging to Timothy's leg, had already been forcibly carried away by Alfonso.

"Seraphina's been taken," Timothy said in a low voice. He grabbed Elizabeth's hand and quickly left the hall.

Hearing this, Elizabeth instantly dropped her wine glass, which shattered into pieces on the floor.

Her face turned pale, her eyes filled with panic.

The two rushed out of the hall.

Seeing Timothy pulling Elizabeth away, Freya called out in surprise, "Elizabeth, where are you going?"

Russell frowned—something must have happened.

The guests looked at each other, confused about what was going on.

Alfonso had heard what Timothy said. He came out to manage the situation. "Sorry, something urgent came up. Today's wedding ends here."

Cecilia walked over to take Jane. "I'm so sorry, kids don't know any better."

Alfonso glanced at Cecilia. This wasn't something he could decide—they'd have to wait for Timothy to come back to handle it.

Mabel moved closer to Alfonso.

Alfonso held her hand, comforting her.

In the car.

Timothy drove while calling the bodyguards. "Send me your location."

The head bodyguard immediately sent Timothy the vehicle's real-time location.

Since getting in the car, Elizabeth hadn't said a word.

Her eyes were full of anxiety.

She would give up years of her life rather than lose Seraphina again.

"Timothy, we can bring Seraphina back safely, right?" Elizabeth finally spoke, her voice choked with tears, almost pleading.

"Yes." Timothy's long fingers gripped the steering wheel tightly. His eyes were fixed ahead, the car's speed pushed to the limit.

Timothy's car raced down the highway.

His mind worked quickly—if someone was running, where would they go?

Elizabeth also watched the location nervously, trying to figure out the route.

She suddenly shouted, "White Sand Beach!"

Timothy responded and quickly changed direction, taking a shortcut to White Sand Beach.

He called Joe. "Send more people and a boat to White Sand Beach."

White Sand Beach was a secluded beach, usually deserted, with rough waves—an extremely dangerous place.

A report came through the phone from the bodyguards: "We checked the wedding guest list. The person who took Ms. Penrose is Mrs. Bailey, invited by the Nightingale family."

Hearing this, Elizabeth felt like her head was about to explode—nothing but rage.

Timothy and Elizabeth gradually approached White Sand Beach.

They saw they were close to the location the bodyguards had sent.

"Her car is there!"

"No!"

Elizabeth's words stuck in her throat, trembling with terror, unable to scream.

She would never forget this scene for the rest of her life.

The car ahead plunged into the roaring ocean.

A little girl's tiny figure was thrown from the car, falling into the sea.

The waves roared and crashed, as if to swallow everything.

Timothy slammed on the brakes. The car stopped abruptly by the shore, and he jumped out, running toward the waves.

Without hesitation, he dove into the sea, swimming desperately toward Seraphina.

Elizabeth followed right behind. Her dress made running difficult.

She frantically unbuttoned it, quickly stripped off her skirt, and jumped into the sea without a second thought.

The icy water instantly surrounded her body.

The huge waves crashed against Elizabeth, nearly sweeping her away.

Just as she felt she was about to be swallowed by the waves, the bodyguards who had followed pulled her back.

"Mrs. Robinson, you can't go any further!" the bodyguard shouted, using all his strength to pull Elizabeth back to shore.

The sun went down.

Time seemed to stand still. Elizabeth wrapped herself tightly in a blanket, sitting on the shore.

Her eyes were empty and lifeless, red and swollen, tear stains still wet.

The sea breeze tousled her hair.

She stared at the boats gradually setting out to search, lost in thought.

Her Seraphina was so sweet.

After arranging everything, Timothy walked toward Elizabeth carrying a thermos and a bottle of water.

In his deep eyes was a worry not easily noticed.

Timothy walked to Elizabeth's side, unscrewed the cap, and said softly, "Elizabeth, drink some water, eat something."

Elizabeth listened to the sound of the waves.

After a while, she slowly turned to look at Timothy, tilting her head, a smile on her face that looked worse than crying.

She said calmly, "Timothy, Seraphina is gone. What right do we have to live happily together?"

Her voice was hoarse with despair.

Timothy's heart twisted with pain. He knew Elizabeth's pain and despair at this moment, and understood what she meant by those words.

He reached out and gripped her hand tightly.

"Timothy, we were both wrong. We shouldn't have gotten married."

Elizabeth's voice carried deep despair and self-blame. She was on the verge of complete breakdown.

Her face looked terrible, her hands trembling constantly, appearing incredibly fragile.

Timothy gently wiped the tears from Elizabeth's face. Right now, any words of comfort seemed so empty.

He knew Elizabeth's breakdown and despair, his own heart equally bitter.

Timothy pulled the broken Elizabeth into his arms, holding her tightly, trying to calm her emotions.

"When Seraphina was just born, Jake took her away. Back then, I knew Seraphina was still alive—I still had hope."

Elizabeth clutched the clothes at her chest. Sharp pain came from her chest, dull and suffocating.

She finally spoke. "Let's get divorced."

She couldn't do it—couldn't continue living with Timothy after losing Seraphina.

The sound of the waves couldn't hide what Elizabeth said.

She said, "Let's get divorced."

Timothy still heard those words clearly.

His deep gaze looked ahead, his voice hoarse. "Elizabeth, we've been through so much together. We can't give up now."

Elizabeth shook her head. "We won't be happy together anymore."

Every moment of happiness would remind Elizabeth of Seraphina's tiny figure being thrown into the sea.

That pain followed her like a shadow. Elizabeth couldn't escape it.

"Mr. Robinson, let's get divorced."

Elizabeth's voice was filled with endless sadness and self-mockery.

Maybe she was never meant to have happiness.

Timothy struggled to swallow past the lump in his throat. He gently stroked Elizabeth's hair blown by the sea breeze, his dry lips bitten until they bled.

"Okay."

"I'll do what you want."

Jake had succeeded. He used Seraphina's life to ensure Timothy would never be happy again.

In that moment, Timothy questioned himself—was he wrong to choose to do that surgery for Annie back then?

They stayed at White Sand Beach for a week.

The court had just opened.

Elizabeth and Timothy slowly walked into the court hand in hand, both looking haggard. They filed for divorce.
