Chapter 209 Her Waist Became Slimmer
Timothy saw Elizabeth acting as if she didn't recognize him.
His heart tightened.
He instinctively glanced at Eric, who was standing next to Elizabeth.
Timothy actually knew him.
Eric, the CEO of Zenith Enterprises Group.
"Mr. Robinson."
Eric also saw Timothy and was clearly surprised. He quickly greeted Timothy.
"Eric."
The two men shook hands.
Timothy and Eric had worked together before, so they were old acquaintances.
Elizabeth didn't know they knew each other.
Timothy pretended to be friendly and extended his hand to Elizabeth, smiling slightly, "Ms. Penrose."
It seemed like a perfectly polite handshake.
But Timothy's thumb secretly rubbed the back of her hand.
Her hand felt hot.
Elizabeth's lips twitched slightly as she cursed Timothy in her mind.
While cursing him internally, she kept a proper smile on her face, "Mr. Robinson."
What was originally a dinner between Elizabeth and Eric turned into a three-person gathering because of Timothy's sudden arrival.
During the meal, Timothy and Eric discussed the very popular topic of AI.
They talked about AI technology.
Elizabeth wasn't in this field and only had a vague understanding of these technical terms and issues.
She tried hard to stay focused, listening carefully to their conversation and trying to remember the key points they mentioned.
She couldn't use this information now, but it might come in handy at some point in the future.
Even if just for showing off.
Timothy kept his attention on Elizabeth. Seeing she was interested in the topic, he deliberately slowed down his speech.
When Eric went to the restroom, only Elizabeth and Timothy were left in the private room.
Timothy immediately pulled his chair closer to Elizabeth and asked with a half-smile, "Ms. Penrose, can you recognize me now?"
Timothy's gaze swept over her business suit without any attempt to hide it, his deep eyes lingering on the full curves outlined by the fabric.
His gaze moved down to her slender waist.
A waist so slim you could wrap your hands around it.
"Why is this waist getting thinner and thinner?"
Timothy frowned, his hand gripping her waist, his voice low and husky, "Elizabeth, you've only been gone for one day and you've already lost weight. Will you move back home tonight?"
Elizabeth remained silent.
The warmth from his fingertips came through her clothes.
Elizabeth's body was already very sensitive to Timothy's touch, especially around her waist.
Her body trembled involuntarily.
Elizabeth smiled, holding her utensils, and directly poked Timothy's bold hand with them.
She deliberately changed the subject, "Mrs. Nightingale wants to meet me tomorrow."
Timothy responded without hesitation, "I'll go with you."
His reaction made Elizabeth laugh.
She smiled with her eyes crinkling, saying, "No need, I'll go by myself. Mrs. Nightingale isn't some monster. I can handle this."
Her tone was very relaxed.
Seeing Elizabeth refuse to let him come along, disappointment flashed in Timothy's eyes. Thinking of Freya, he frowned.
Why would Freya want to meet Elizabeth? It had to be about either Emma or Tommy and Jane.
"Don't worry," Elizabeth said softly, "we both know Mrs. Nightingale can't be offended, but..."
Timothy understood what Elizabeth left unsaid.
He nodded, "Elizabeth is really smart."
Eric hadn't returned yet, and Timothy thought about how he'd have to sleep alone again tonight.
He held Elizabeth and kissed her.
He was gentle at first.
But later, his actions became bolder.
Elizabeth worried that Eric might suddenly push the door open and walk in on an awkward scene.
She pushed Timothy, telling him to stop.
Seeing her hands constantly making trouble, Timothy simply grabbed both her hands and pressed them against the chair back.
When Eric came back.
Elizabeth was smiling and chatting casually with Timothy, the atmosphere seemingly harmonious.
However, under the table, Elizabeth's small hand was forcefully pinching Timothy's thigh.
The pain in his thigh shot straight to his brain.
Simply exhilarating.
Despite the pain in his thigh, Timothy's expression remained unchanged, with a faint smile still playing on his lips.
He looked quite content.
The dinner ended.
Eric politely said he had a driver to take him back to the hotel. Before leaving, he said to Elizabeth, "Ms. Penrose, see you at the Sherman Group tomorrow. I hope we'll have the chance to work together this time."
His words meant he had decided to pursue a business partnership with the Sherman Group.
Elizabeth showed a sincere smile, "See you tomorrow."
After Eric's car left, Timothy stood next to Elizabeth.
He lowered his voice and asked, "Elizabeth, if you won't come home with me, then I'll go with you, okay?"
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow at Timothy, smiled, said nothing more, and turned to walk toward her car.
Seeing she didn't explicitly refuse, Timothy could barely suppress the smile on his lips as he followed her.
However, after Elizabeth got in the car, she directly closed the door and told the driver to go.
The car quickly started, leaving Timothy, who hadn't had time to get in, standing there in silence.
Timothy silently watched the departing car, the smile on his face gradually turning into helplessness.
He shook his head and sighed.
Joe silently drove the car over.
He almost felt sorry for Timothy.
Timothy was too obedient to Elizabeth.
Joe muttered to himself, thinking it was too pitiful, and he would definitely never fall in love.
Meanwhile, Eric returned to his reserved hotel room.
While making a phone call, he loosened his tie and walked into the bedroom.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks.
The scene before him left him stunned.
Tessa, wearing a transparent thin dress, was lying on his bed.
Eric's entire handsome face instantly darkened, and he asked coldly, "Who told you to come?"
Tessa's face showed shyness as she answered in a low voice, "Ms. Penrose arranged for me to take care of you."
Eric's brows furrowed tightly.
Anger flashed in his eyes.
He quickly hung up the phone and said in a deep voice, "Get out."
Tessa looked at him somewhat at a loss, "But Ms. Penrose said..."
"I said get out!" Eric's voice was cold and left no room for argument.
His ingrained gentlemanly nature prevented him from saying something cruder.
Seeing this, Tessa could only hurriedly get out of bed and quickly leave the room.
Eric stood there, taking a deep breath.
He tried to calm his anger.
This was simply an insult to him.
He had originally had a very good impression of Elizabeth today, but now his impression of her had hit rock bottom.
Whether this was Elizabeth's idea or her subordinate acting on their own initiative.
Eric felt he couldn't choose to cooperate with the Sherman Group.
At this time, in the Nightingale Group's office.
Despite the late hour, Herschel was still working.
His phone rang, and Herschel answered the call.
The man on the other end said ingratiatingly, "I've arranged for a woman to be in that hotel room as you instructed. The money?"
Herschel said calmly, "I'll transfer the money to you tomorrow."
He hung up the phone, leaned back in his chair, and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes.
This afternoon, Freya had sent him another message saying Emma wanted to take Jane to apologize to Elizabeth and Seraphina.
Herschel had specially arranged tonight's incident as a small lesson for Elizabeth.
Did she really think the people protected by the Nightingale family were so easy to bully?
Herschel looked at the lights in the night scene outside the floor-to-ceiling window, rubbed his temples, withdrew his gaze, and continued handling his work.
