Chapter 206 Leave Him Behind
Timothy drove home quickly.
He found Elizabeth sitting in the living room with an unusually grave expression, as if a storm was about to hit.
Timothy's heart sank.
On his way back, Joe had already asked the restaurant manager.
He had a pretty good idea of what had happened.
Timothy couldn't help but frown at the thought of Emma and the others.
Timothy sat down next to Elizabeth and asked carefully, "Elizabeth, where's Seraphina? What happened? You look really unhappy."
Elizabeth gave a fake smile, glanced at him sideways, and said coldly, "Seraphina's asleep. You're asking me what happened? Didn't I tell you on the phone? Seraphina said Jane pushed her, but Jane said Seraphina bumped into her and fell down by herself!"
Elizabeth stood up, staring at Timothy angrily, keeping her voice low so as not to wake Seraphina.
She finally couldn't hold it in anymore, "Timothy! Do you believe Seraphina or do you believe Jane!"
Timothy was startled by Elizabeth's sudden anger.
Elizabeth was really angry this time.
He paused for a moment and quickly swore, "Elizabeth, of course I believe our Seraphina."
Elizabeth knew that today's incident was just a small matter, and she was making a big deal out of it by getting so angry now.
Strictly speaking, she was taking her anger out on Timothy.
But Elizabeth felt terrible inside.
Whenever she thought about Freya saying she hadn't raised Seraphina properly, her heart burned with anger.
And that Jane - she was from the Robinson family.
For Annie's sake, Timothy wouldn't do anything to Tommy and Jane, who were already born.
Elizabeth said coldly, "I'm going to take Seraphina and stay somewhere else for a while."
This was serious.
Timothy stood up, wanting to hold her hand.
Elizabeth pulled away and wouldn't let him.
He paused, his expression serious, "Why stay somewhere else? Elizabeth, if I've done something wrong, you can tell me and I'll change, okay?"
He tried to calm Elizabeth down.
"Timothy," Elizabeth's lips curved slightly, her face looking a bit tired, "I've always understood your difficult position. The Robinson family can't publicly reveal who Tommy and Jane's biological parents are. Even if you don't acknowledge it, everyone thinks they're your children, and even Tommy and Jane probably think you're their dad."
Her voice was filled with helplessness and grievance, "Even after we reveal Seraphina's identity publicly, I still feel like Seraphina is being wronged. When Seraphina grows up and hears all this gossip, what do you want her to think?"
Timothy was speechless. He wanted to explain, but he felt Elizabeth was right.
Although he had publicly stated he wasn't Tommy and Jane's father, no one believed him.
After he married Elizabeth, people would still think he was just refusing to acknowledge Tommy and Jane because of Elizabeth.
These things didn't seem like much to them as adults.
But what about when Seraphina grew up?
Timothy knew he couldn't calm Elizabeth's anger right now.
"Elizabeth, I'm sorry. Give me some time, let me think about how to handle Tommy and Jane's situation," Timothy gently took Elizabeth's hand, "Don't be angry anymore, okay?"
Elizabeth pulled her hand away and turned to go upstairs to pack.
Once Seraphina woke up, she would take Seraphina and leave!
Timothy watched Elizabeth's back, feeling quite depressed. He knew that nothing he said right now would help her calm down.
He could only wait for her emotions to settle.
Timothy followed her upstairs.
When he saw Elizabeth packing her luggage, his heart tightened.
He grabbed Elizabeth's hand, his eyes sharp, and asked sternly, "Why are you packing?"
Elizabeth looked up lazily, "I'm taking Seraphina to stay somewhere else for a while."
"No!" Timothy had waited five years for Elizabeth - there was no way he would easily let her out of his sight.
He would go crazy.
"Elizabeth, whatever's wrong is my fault. I'll find a way to handle Tommy and Jane's situation."
His voice was full of pleading.
He held her in his arms, his eyes deep, "Don't leave, okay?"
"Mr. Robinson, listen to me," Elizabeth sighed, "I'm still angry right now. I don't understand why Jane would push Seraphina down. I feel terrible."
"Seraphina and I will just stay at Mabel's place for a while."
Elizabeth was stubborn, and Timothy knew that if he forcibly prevented Elizabeth from staying somewhere else for a while, she would only get angrier.
Timothy's whole mood was low.
Elizabeth had already finished packing and was just waiting for Seraphina to wake up.
When Seraphina woke up and opened her eyes to see Elizabeth, she immediately smiled.
Elizabeth gently pinched Seraphina's nose, her face smiling, calling to her, "Seraphina, time to get up. I'm taking you to stay at Mabel's place for a while, okay?"
"Mommy." Seraphina sat up. She blinked at Elizabeth, then looked at Timothy, her expression still a bit confused.
Seraphina wasn't fully awake yet.
Elizabeth picked Seraphina up and said softly, "Let me help you change your clothes."
After Elizabeth had changed Seraphina's clothes and carried her out of the bedroom.
Timothy held back again and again. He followed Elizabeth and Seraphina the whole time, "Let me carry Seraphina downstairs."
"No need, I can do it."
Seraphina sat in the car and asked cutely, "Daddy, aren't you coming?"
Timothy wanted to silently get into the car, but Elizabeth laughed in frustration and closed the car door directly.
"Drive," Elizabeth said firmly without looking at Timothy.
Timothy stood there alone watching the car drive away, a wave of indescribable loneliness rising in his heart.
Elizabeth and Seraphina had left him behind.
Thinking of Emma and Jane, Timothy's face darkened.
